Six marathons in a year is amazing! No wonder your body is tired, Meaghan. You are such an inspiration to us and we’ll continue rooting for you. Awesome seeing you and Ben before the start of the race. Also stoked that I got to meet your coach, Andrew Kastor, who seems like the nicest man! Enjoy the much needed rest.
That was a ton of marathon racing for Meg! Our buses at Folsom were terribly unorganized. Got there at 5:20 and no buses until 6:30. Didn't get to start until 6:43. 17 minute PR in CIM for me!!!! Course was way harder than everyone talks about and weather was on the fringe of being not good (heat/humidity). Somehow ran 3:08:22 at 60yrs old in the VP3. Giving sub 3:00 a shot at Chicago 2024 in the AF3.
great episode.., Meg is for real.., when I saw the end of the Kofuzi recap, that was total honesty with self. It was ambitious, and that there was thought behind it.., if it were not an Olympic year, you would not have run it. Have to appreciate a great coach/athlete relationship.
Meg don’t be so hard on yourself! Despite all those challenges you still completed the race in a legit time! Can’t be 💯 24/7. Hope you’ll enjoy the holidays & come back out even faster in 2024! We’ve got some awesome shoes coming up!!!
Great podcast! Some great quotes from this one: Sixth. “It’s a hard word, I’ll give you time to work it out” “Back when you were taking biology? How long ago was this?” “Back when they discovered it Meg!” Great to hear Megan’s thoughts on CIM. Thrilled she took the shot AND that you guys have built your community of peeps around you, to have so many amazing people there to support her, like Ko AND Ben (to stop and wait during the race!) AND the Kastor’s (even if Andrew has to because he’s your coach😂) Good stuff
They delayed the start by 10 min because some of the busses were running late because some of the busses never showed up so some had to do extra trips.
Your effort and drive is to be commended. 6 marathons in 1 year is asking for disaster for even the best of runners! Regroup and get some rest. Keep up the great work!
For a fun comparison: If you had a net worth increase (annual salary) of $80,000 and a quarter on the sidewalk is not worth dealing with, it would be like Warren Buffet seeing $42,500 on the sidewalk and thinking it isn't worth his time.
I am the worlds biggest New Balance guy but, I just got the SC Elite v 4 and it blistered me up really good. Actually it is the only New Balance shoe to blister my Achilles Tendon to the point of bleeding. I also have a Nike shoe I totally am in love with the Nike Invincible run 2 NOT the 3, so I think I am going to give this a shot later down the road. My question is do you like this shoe more than the New Balance SC Elite v4 ?? I love the shoe but the sever blisters gotta go!
You are so right about the Alpha Fly 1 and 2... I would love to go back in time and buy all the Alpha Fly ones. Quite frankly, I don't understand why Nike takes a shou off the market as soon as there's a new version. You can buy almost all the Jordans and Airmax shoes- why not keep all the Alpha Flies?
Probably that was one, back to back, marathons too many for Meaghan - I made the same mistake this year. NYC marathon is such a tough course , even jogging it needs some good recovery time. Good effort! Next time
Great content today. Huge accomplishments by Meg this year. Maybe a different lens is in order. Thomas looked like Jabba the Hutt and foreground out of focus. Sorry to be picky 🇨🇦
I watched Mike's interview and it took a while for me to realise it was The Megan, as you sounded so out of character. Hope you find your mojo again, enjoy your down time. Still a cracking effort for most of us mere mortals ❤
Okay, down south, in Alabama we DO NOT pick up paper money lots of people are dying due to Fentanyl being laced into the dollars or bigger bills and, overdosing with in seconds of picking it up! just be careful!
I am not a woman but I coach female triathletes from elite athletes chasing their Olympic dreams all the way to ladies just trying to finish a half Ironmans. It happens all the time that they get their period the night before or on race morning.
If Meg isn’t opposed to birth control she should get a form that reduces the frequency or completely rids her of periods. I’m no OB/GYN but I just had that topic in PA school lol. Her situation frustrated me and I’m not even a chick. I salute you for running 3 marathons with that, Jesus. That should be an OTQ on its own.
I did cry watching kofuzi’s video. I love when Meg says she had nothing to lose. That goes for all of us and why we go for it anyways.
What video
Ok

Meg is the realest! Can’t help but root for her.
Oh man, seeing Meg at the end of Kofuzi's CIM video got me. Keep pushing Meg!! You are an inspiration!

Supposedly some of the busses they chartered never showed up. Grats on the time! Fellow AG here :-)
Meg, you’re an awesome runner. Period.
1:00:35 Meg just casually dropping that she’s spent 3,000 dollars on Alphaflys. 🤯

Meg’s OTQ at Chicago 2027 is going to be sweet!!
Megan’s hot takes are always classic 🤦♀️ ‘Chocolate and mint should never go together’, said no one ever haha
Congratulations Meaghan. Like to Believe in the Run. ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡Happy Holidays for everyone!!!!.
Fries in vanilla shake/ice cream, yes. I've not done it in years (maybe decades), but I ain't mad at it.
Robbe: good haul on coinage! Glad to hear I’m not the only one picking up coins on runs!😂
Still an inspiration. Especially to beginning runners like me. Love you Meagh! From Manila Philippines 🇵🇭 💜💜💜
Mint chocolate? Yes please!
"PETA is probably hammering the comments now" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nike Alphafly definitely gave this non-elite some great experiences and PBs in 2023. I’m looking forward to owning a pair of the 3s!

Ready for my Friday run!
Have fun!

What we have learned is to meet Megan while wearing a fun sprints hat and eating a peppermint patty.
Merry Christmas/Yuletide Thomas , Meg, Robbe and the rest of the BITR gang
Love you Meagh from Taiwan. Keep fighting :)
@kofuzi made me cry as well 24:46
lol Meg "leave it at that !!"
They delayed the start by 10 min because some of the busses were running late because some of the busses never showed up so some had to do extra trips.
This was good..
I am aiming for a BQ at Chicago, I plan on using the AF3!

I’m absolutely with Megan on the chocolate and mint thing 😊
Mint shouldn't be mixed with anything. It's like eating something right after brushing your teeth.
@@runnin3216 this is spot on :D
Great episode today. I’m new to your content and I love it.
Welcome aboard!
No timestamps 😔
27:27 talking about running here
Because it gets awkward to name them “nonsense 1”, “nonsense 2”, etc.
For a fun comparison: If you had a net worth increase (annual salary) of $80,000 and a quarter on the sidewalk is not worth dealing with, it would be like Warren Buffet seeing $42,500 on the sidewalk and thinking it isn't worth his time.
Cash money 🤑
Chocolate raspberry but you have to add coconut for best effect.
Yes, you want to dip salty fries in hot fudge Sundays with vanilla ice cream
Also, is it cold in that room? All are wearing winter wear. No heat?
Did Meg fall asleep at 22:00?

59:47 personally, love hotdogs. No qualms eating them. S/o to Costco dog combo

I think that the Olympic trials marathon for LA2024 has to be on the race course, right?
Let Meaghan talk!
@believeinthe run are you doing shake out run for houston ?
Probably that was one, back to back, marathons too many for Meaghan - I made the same mistake this year. NYC marathon is such a tough course , even jogging it needs some good recovery time. Good effort! Next time
This is yo momma with believe in the run.
Chocolate peanut butter!
I'm probably being an idiot, but what's OTQ? Olympic Time Qualifier?
Olympic Trials Qualifier... if you get under the qualifying time you can run at the Olympic Trials in February
Are you guys sure it’s 4 mil. Drop ? Other reviews said 8
It's 8
how many miles do you think the AF 3 will last for ? durability ?
150-200 miles

Actually that is how he looks 😩

While not all chocolate/mint combos are bad imo, York Peppermint Patties are 🗑️ so I agree there
Can I walk in this shoe? Seems very comfortable
You could, but wouldn’t recommend. It isn’t supportive enough.
Thank you! @@Believeintherun
I'm a biology teacher. Thomas isn't a million miles off 😅
Did I hear this correct? Meg has 11 pairs of the Alphafly1?
Correct
Okay, down south, in Alabama we DO NOT pick up paper money lots of people are dying due to Fentanyl being laced into the dollars or bigger bills and, overdosing with in seconds of picking it up! just be careful!
Baltimore is like the fentanyl capital so I think we’re immune
Where did Robie get his pullover?
Onitsuka Tiger but they just closed their site down at the end of November 😕
@@Believeintherun thanks! Found it from their Philippines online store
Biloxi is pronounced like "bill-LUX-ee." Lox goes on a bagel
So you're saying nobody in Mississippi is pronouncing it right
1:08:44 they shouldn't 've dialed back the arch. Meg & robbie didn't even feel it😢
It’s there. It just isn’t as extreme.
@@Believeintherunplease make a video on top shoes with an arch for flat feet.

So Meaghan hates beer, fried chicken, and mint chocolate. I do not trust this person.
That's a fair assessment 😂
Same as Koala Bear. Koala means bear.
🤯
This is an example of how podcasts lose focus. When the speakers are too much into hearing themselves. 😪
Is it L EM ENT OR L EM EN TEE?????
LMNT pronounce as Element

they allow chip time for women, pretty sure not for men still
