- POV test drive video of the new Volkswagen Amarok of 2016. The VW Amarok has a 2.967 cc V6 TDI diesel engine with 6 cylinders that delivers 224 hp and a max. torque of 550 Nm. It has a topspeed of 191 km/h. The VW Amarok has 4-wheel drive (4Motion) and has an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The VW concern's V6 diesel sounds much worse from then interior than for example the BMW's 6 cylinder diesels. It's quite a shame.
It's a truck so it sounds like one. The 3.0 TDI sounds different in sedans or SUVs. Anyway BMW is using straight 6 cylinders instead of V.
XTad1 The engine sounds exactly the same in the A6 for example. And yes, BMW uses straight 6, but Mercies for example uses a 3.0 V6 diesel, which sounds much better.
SRAMEK that has nothing to do with it . this engine is designed to deliver a lot of torque for towing and hauling heavy things . thats why it sounds boring , not because its a truck ... vw concern v6 diesels overal sound pretty nice . with a decatted exhaust they even sound a bit like petrol v6 engines revving low . search for audi 3.0 tdi sounds amazing for a diesel . this is just not designed for power , torque is the message here

Not in dollars, but in brazilian currency which is called "real", a dollar is worth 3,80 reals right now BUT since the salaries and cost of stuff is similar, it's the equivalent of living in the US and paying more than double of what it costs there
Don't know if I made myself clear enough, just take a look, a police officer in the US is paid, on average, 4,2k a month, in Brazil the average is 3k, let's ignore their different currencies to compare, the US officer can pay 18k on a Cruze and 38k on a Camaro, if I'm not mistaken, the poor brazilian officer will pay 85k on the same Cruze and 300k on the same Camaro.
