I really hope AAC is an enormous commercial success for PSA
The amount of money I’m spending with them
They are
So much unwarranted hate for PSA..I thank them for helping bring the ammo market somewhat back under control..also love my AKV. Keep it up PSA!!
Tactitards love to spend excess money on shit they don't need and brag about it on the internet, so it makes sense they hate on PSA, which produces good stuff at reasonable prices.
@@BasedPatriot-USAlemons happen dude, even with the best brands. I have seen brand new Geissele and BCM rifles have issues right out the box. It’s sucks that it happened but it’s not something that just PSA deals with
My hate on PSA is the do not ship to my FFL. They tell me my address cannot own the guns I own due to it's proximity to Denver. Even though I live in Lakewood the proximity offends their compliance officer.
They are cheap for a reason, gotta cut corners somewhere, never going to be duty grade to me, too many simple QC mistakes that never should've made it past but they still do, as for longevity most people shoot 100 rds maybe a year and claim is the best shit ever or "just as good", that's for their in house produced guns, they still have some of the best deals around on ammo, mags, optics, etc., they've taken plenty of my money lol
Worst customer service I have experienced in ANY industry. That's why
I bought 5 different AAC loads (77 TMK, 77 Sierra OTM, 75 Saber, 77 OTM, and 69 OTM) and took them out with my DDM4V7 Pro. Shot a box of each with 5 round groups. 1.5” was the worst group of the day. The 77 Sierra TMK and 77 OTM both shot under 1” with all 4 groups (5 rounds). Solid ammo, and a great price point.
Target distance?
@@warrenharrison9490 Definitely should have included that - 101 yards per my range finder.
Did you chrono them? It may have been their earliest batches but some of the 77 OTM were extremely hot and some of thr powders on pulled rounds appeared to be tacky and may even have been a mix of different powders.
Im hoping that they have found “their mixture” over the past year and the new batches because if it’s good, these prices can’t be beat for good ammunition.
@@Cyberrat629 I waited until recently to do this for just those reasons. My chrono is old and has seen better days so I didn’t bother. Judging by the consistency of .75” groups on the Sierra TMK and Sierra OTM’s I’d say it was fairly consistent. The non-Sierra OTM’s hit about 1” every time and the 69’s were 1.25 - 1.5”. The 75 Sabre shot .9 - 1.3”. Granted this is a relatively small sample size, but it seems like the have a solid mix of consistency and price.
I bought a couple hundred of the 77gr OTM (not Sierra MK) and have been wondering how they were, so thank you. I can't wait to try it out!
I’m really happy with my 62gr black tips. Cheap enough for range ammo while now stockpiling defensive ammo. It’s a win win
Next year the ammo is going to be hard to find again.
Oh yeah, gotta love PSA.. there 115 grain XTP's are the best budget hollow points on the market in 9mm and the black tip stuff isn't bad either.. there 45 ACP & 357 MAG XTP's are really great budget options for defense also
@danielw3076 why?
@@88musrat elections.
My thoughts , I’ll have to see how they do for 10 otw
PSA is killing it. Hopefully they tool up for 7.62x39 and 5.45 soon.
🤞🏻
I think that'd be a logical move for them given their AK production.
7.62 is def in the pipeline along with .308
@@stevem4783 100% agree
@@PepeDeezNutz I definitely hope they tool up for 3-0-hate I'm tired of looking for anything close to $1 per round as a "deal"
What a gentleman and a scholar. I wish the rest of the country followed your channel here on YT.
Ditto
Would LOVE to see a video comparing ALL of AAC's 5.56 options side by side in the same video.
The AAC ammo offerings I've tried thus far have been reliable and accurate. With their pricing, it makes it easier to stock up on what is normally higher priced specialty rounds, like their 5.56 77gr OTM, 75gr BTHP and the SABRE options which I prefer the 75gr load. Also they have some really nice affordable 300blk options. I wish AAC would offer a 5.56 75gr Interlock round like the Hornady Black SBR Interlock, thats my go-to defensive round.
Had to watch this here and on Mug Club. Keep up the good work.
I have seen a similar test but the gel was more clear so it was easier to see, and the 75gr had a nasty fragmenting wound cavity that would do significant damage to whatever it hits.
Considering this ammo is just marginally more than FMJ it's a no brainer. Might be some of the best performance for the value available.
Awesome as always, keep up the great work brother! 🤙🏻
Keep up the fantastic work, and I can't wait to see more reviews like this in the future! 🙌🔫🎯
Been looking for this. Thanks.
Another great video, Mike
It would be nice to see an accuracy test from all their offerings. I’m very impressed with the 77g OTM. By far the cheapest accurate ammo out there
PSA Sabre 62 grain in my 14.5 Sabre Billet AR for the win. Dropped a hog yesterday with authority. She went down HARD!!
I drilled a sow with a 30/30 soft point I think it was a 150 grain blew her whole left front leg off at the high shoulder. She ran about 3/4 of a mile in the thick florida palmetto swamps before I caught up to her and made a humane shot. The fist sized hole and the dangling leg shows how tough wild hogs are. For a 62 grain to drop one on the spot is a great sign. Here in the thick brush of the florida palmettos my 30/30 has always served me well with hogs. I’m tempted to take my 20 inch HBAR Colt and some of these next time out
Have you killed a couple with this round or just the one?
I was hoping to see results on game from the field. I know 223 is deemed light but accuracy and projectile construction are even more important than caliber on thin skinned game like deer. Glad to see the hogs don’t like it. 👍
@@pete4633it does not sound like the 30-30 is great for hogs at all based on your experience. Unless you like a hike😂
@@pete4633shot placement is everything. I cannot preach that enough.
The fact I’ve been trying to find videos on this ammo and you come out with a video is funny.
Buffman range reviewed it also.
Thank you for doing this test! A lot of people have been waiting for more info on these and PSAs website doesn’t provide much. I wonder how these would do for hog hunting as well as defense.
I'm glad that we have a new manufacturer of ammo. Half the time they have free shipping.
Watched this as a base for .300blk in the same bullet. I’ve found that AAC ammo is pretty accurate for box ammo. I have the varmint tipped in .300blk. It shoots great and at $.60 a round, it’s a fantastic price for .300blk.
I e been waiting for this video from you for a while now
Awesome!!!!! Can't wait for more
I'm really glad to have these new ammo options.
I did a Criterion Core 13.9" build recently with a headspaced BCM BCG. I put a 1-6 LPVO on it for some brief accuracy testing & tried most of the AAC 5.56 ammo along with a few other affordable loads. Consistently got 1 MOA - 0.75 MOA using AAC 69gr hollowpoint boat tail. It wasn't the AAC Sierra Matchking load either, just AAC's own projectile I guess? I Haven't tried their SMK version.
75gr sabre black tip also shot roughly MOA, just a bit over most of the time.
Great video as always! Thanks for sharing! Keep up this great work!
Silly question, who makes your floppy range hat?
Great video and very informative
Would love to see accuracy testing as well. Ballistics is great but if it’s 5moa it doesn’t do much good haha. Thanks for braving the heat for the content 🤘🏼
Please do the 300 Blackout Sabre blades too! Love the content you put out
I really appreciate AAC bringing affordable defense ammo to a market saturated in overpriced defensive ammo! Cannot wait to see this load in 308..
Should hopefully be released soon, the listing is now on their site now
@@mmorin92 I think it already got listed and sold out just as fast. I saw it a couple days ago and all AAC 308 was out of stock.
@@427SuperSnake1 they will list that before they ever go for sale. They just dropped the 150 grain fmj hopefully the rest come soon
@@mmorin92no it literally keeps selling out. I had a friend in a different state tell me he was able to order some today and then within hours it was sold out.
@@Fyoutube444 that's the fmj. I managed to snag a couple of boxes. Hopefully they ramp up production so it doesn't keep going out of stock so quickly. But at this time I haven't seen or heard them releasing the sabre black tip ammo in 308, just the placeholder page
Love theses videos thank you. Next up 200 yard ballistic gel testing with a 16" barrel please sir.
Great job brother!
God bless all here.
Thanks for the review I just bought 200 rounds of the black tips.
*lives in an apartment in Baltimore*
This video read made for me! Been keeping an eye on these rounds and I'm glad you made the video. I'm going shopping!
Glad to have a US manufacturer that isn't planning on selling out to foreign interests for the foreseeable future. I've been running almost exclusively AAC 5.56 55gr through my ARs for practice and training and it has performed reliably.
Thanks for the video. You rock!
Thank you Mike!
ive been waiting for some sort of review on this stuff! im thinking im gonna go with some of the 62 gr once its back in stock. seems like the best option as it will work across a range of twist rates and barrel lengths
Many thanks. All very usable IMO. The 75 would be my choice. Good offering especially for money.
That’s makes sense. I thought these were a different type of round. Glad I watched.
Thank you for the information.
For the price of think their ammo is good, it’s hard to beat for the price. a similar round I like that is around the same category is the Hornady black 75gr BTHP but they are double the price almost.
Fantastic round, can’t wait for them to go out of stock now 😂
I've been wondering about the Sabre ammo. Thanks for the review!
You're welcome 👍🏽
AAC ammo has been good so far even in their blue box stuff.
Been loving the aac ammo
Been looking for some feedback on D ammo. Thanks man
Thanks! Good info.!
That flash in the gel from the 75 grain. Damn
That 55 grain would be fine for coyotes but I'd stick to the heavier loads for social work.
"Social Work", I like that.
That 55 grain would be good out of a short barrel for up close and personal, the 62 and 75 would be fantastic out of a 16 inch barrel if you want to dump every ftlb into the intended target. Fragmentation is the reason 5.56 NATO is such an effective round. Reliable fragmentation is a great thing.
Great info. I'll pick k some up. 😊
Honestly 12.5" out of the 62 isin't bad at all! Especially if you have an optic that's set up for m855. Would be a good general purpose "farm" cartridge. Good for the usual stuff and could probably work good enough in a SD scenario.
And that 75 is intriguing. I'd love to see when people start shooting it for groups.
It would be more than adequate for self-defense. Consider this, the 22 long rifle has killed more people than any other bullet. And it only penetrates 3in into ballistic gel.
@@DirtyDan1 No.. 22lr can penetrate into the FBI protocol with many loads, especially with handguns. Even some of the "short" ones will be 8 inches. Not including segmented bullets and the like.
@@DirtyDan1I’m not sure if I can believe that. The 7.62/ 30 caliber has been used by military forces since the late nineteenth century and is still used today. The 22lr is a rifle cartridge. I’m going to dig into it but handgun calibers should be 32, 38, 9mm, and yes the 22lr is going to be that list as well. But I can’t see it being the most used. The 22 caliber in handguns has generally been reserved to small easily concealed last resort guns not the primary weapon.
Have not shot any yet but Love the fact AAC is for civilian market and the price point is solid
Good stuff!!
I would love to see you do these tests with a 10.3 or 11.5”, since many use those barrel lengths for home defense..
Facts
You and tools have done great reviews on this AAC black tip 556. Thank you
Now get AAC to make some 545/39!!
😎
I suspect they will, SOMEONE has to fill in for the lack of imports (once they fully stop)
🤞🏻
Word has been that it is slow going getting the proper machines imported, set up, and producing the ammo.
Considering all the firearms PSA makes, they have ammo for just about all calibers they make. Exceptions being the x39's and 308.
9mm, 40S&W, 10mm, 380Acp, .45 acp, 357 mag, 300blk, 5.56, 5.7x28
These are all calibers I've held in my hands made by AAC (which PSA owns).
I’d love to see a gel test of the 300BLK 125 grain Sabre Black Tips
Excellent!
I bought 5.56, 77gr AAC for only .55 a round. And 150gr 300blk out for .58 a round you can't beat that.
Great video and data point test. I am stock piling defensive ammo on multiple calibers. Keep the videos going. Solid CZcams channel like Sootch00 Honest Outlaw Military channel Classic Firearms Buffman-Range and Tools & Targets and others.
Seems like great rounds for home defense. Monster wound tracks, no over penetration, bullet frag / cavitation.... also less expensive than stuff like Underwood w/ Controlled Chaos bullets.
Jelly Time! 😎👊
Sound like great accuracy
I used some 60gr nosler varmageddon reloading once and was surprised at the explosive properties of those rounds . And I can tell you they are explosive. Not literally but you hit something soft try it a fine out what I mean if you are a reloader.
That's been my experience also with Nosler Varmageddon. I've shot some varmints with their 300 Black Out. "Explosive" is exactly how I would describe it.
Could we see a review of PSA's Sabre rifle? Would be cool to see.
Thank you so much for posting this. For me it's between this and Black Hills TSX, I'd prefer the 62 grain TSX if there was enough gel data for it.
I have a 55gr tsx for 223 20" barrel do stuff
Have the 180ttsx for my dd5v3 but havnt landed 1 on meat yet
Awesome thanks for content, I have been wanting to see some ballistic testing of those before I purchased some of them. I just wish you would have used a bit cleaner or clearer ballistic gel, so we could have seen the permanent wound cavity better!
noted; gel costs about 40x what this video will ever make though.
@@Mrgunsngear any luck filtering it after melting it down for remolding?
@@Mrgunsngearmakes sense. Thanks for all your hard work!
He will gladly accept your donation for new gel.
I'm a big fan of yours I'm waiting for Review of the Springfield Escalon
I really like the way you do reviews. How about comparing the standard aR15 load offering from AAC the 55 and 62 grns. Does the plain blue box compare with the black tip sabre in accuracy and consistency. Not many folks are familiar with them.
I just bought 10 boxes of the 75 grain black tip for 10.99 a box (20 rounds per). Next payday I'm grabbing some of the 62 grain black tip.
I'm normally a hand loader but at these prices it isn't worth my time to pull that handle. My 20 inch AR is standing by for opening day of deer
season next month. Now if we can just get some 175 grain black tip 308. PSA that was a hint(chuckle)
The 75gr looks Very promising for a SD load.
I don’t think deer would like it too much either. Seems like a good all around load, for cheap
You better Mug Club up some decent blocks. Those look like inside of one of my smokers. Or one of those hotel rooms they’re putting illegal s in 😂😂
I’m just waiting for PSA near me to have this & 300BO black tip in stores.I’m stockpiling 😎🤙🏾💯
🇺🇸
Defensive round for hunting.... Would be a fun episode to dive into. A HP for deer vs a HP for defense... Why one over the other.
These fuckers do a number on deer and pigs
I finally make a Premier, sweet!
Yeah me too
I have been using the frontier 5.56 75 bthp, for my 10.5….. I may try this.
I love the Frontier 68gr BTHP out of my 16". Sub MOA all day. Was looking at these to try for comparison.
I think at home defense distances, all three would would do the job
Do the 110gr 300 BO from 10.5" upper!
Mike, you have to get a LabRadar ballistic Doppler chronograph. No more chronograph issues with those. Surprised you dont have one already actually.
I’ve been curious about that 77gr Sabre. I tried the AAC 77gr OTM and it’s great ammo. Not as good as actual Black Hills 77gr OTM but for the price, you can’t beat it. It’s replaced the IMI 77gr OTM as my “go to” ammo for accuracy.
Great 62gr bonded load is federal fusion msr. Wish there was more bonded rounds, I prefer that way over green tip
I personally have nothing but good things to say about PSA. 👍😁🇺🇸🇮🇱
I love this ammo in 6.5 if you're having a good day at the range I would say this is pretty accurate Go figure 2750 please keep buying Match ammo
There's some rumors that AAC ammo is having problems with blowing up cans.
I was at the range when someone had jacket separation with AAC 55 grain. It didn't "destroy" the can, but it did look like a baffle strike and was able to shake pieces of jacket out of it. I've never heard of anything bad from their heavier grain 5.56, but it does make me hesitant to buy any.
Edit: The 55 grain wasn't out of the Sabre line. Just the standard AAC.
Thank you.
Try the 85gr nosler rdf….Ive got a batch worked up …55gr blitzking..and 60gr v max…BK keepin all 5 touchin… v max awsome rd too
Nice Sky Dweller!
I just saw garand thumb burn out a psa barrel with full auto and suppresor. Lasted 7k and he said not battle ready, is what I'd want no. But if you manage to survive that high of a round count, I'm sure you can get another upper lol. Not only that a bcm will last you what 10k. Especially if you run .223 and don't push your gear to its max constant
Bought some on sale from Palmetto...eager to see if they are worth it. Roll film!
I think this brand woild be a great match for an 11.5" rifle but I am not sure which grain weight I would pick
Sounds interesting
Its great to see/hear Mike shouting out and promoting Mug Club. Its even better to hear him say "PISS OFF You Tube"!
Oh, and the 62gr AAC black tip is great too!
🌈🌈🦄🦄🏹🗡🛡🇺🇸
🇺🇸
How about an accuracy test with the 75 gr
I have tons of popped primers out of the 77 grain OTM in several rifles. But I think they changed the primers at some point. No issues so far with the Sabre black tip ammo.
thanks for the report
Being new to understanding ballistic what is a good recommended place to find good ‘easier to understand / follow info on this subject. Especially taking into consideration of the grain vs. barrel size over different distance. Thank you.
Thanks
Please do a Gel test on the. AAC 75gr Sabre out of a short barrel. 10.3, 10.5 etc… The trend is to use shorter barrels for HD. Also, it would be nice to see if the bullet fragments or expands at those lower velocities.
Man psa is killing it
would you consider doing this test for a 10-12” barrel? many people don’t use a 16” barrel for home defense and it would be interesting to see the results from a shorter barrel.
Any chance we'll see the different 300blackout loads from AAC get tested soon?
I second this
