I hope those Japanese players stop being recruited by MLB. It just goes to show they’re getting help from Japanese leagues to excel because American baseball is not the same as before. The Japanese are so sound, dedicated and focused, they present no problems, that’s why they like them.
Ohtani Vs Trout matchup will last forever in the minds of baseball fans. How this game ended the screenwriters from Hollywood couldn't have written it any better. It was unreal and yet so real and unbelievable.
As a person whose never really cared for baseball, the WBC got me hooked. What a great tournament this was. Always great to see players represent their countries in a sport they love.

The world doesn’t understand local us rivalries between cities to others Texas is the same as California it’s just the US. That’s why I think you should stop calling it the World Series…..it is deciding the best team in the world I understand but there are more viewers around the world than in the us alone the wbc was just so much more fun for all of us outside the IS

I love the story behind the Czech team. They're gonna go back to the Czech Republic and continue their normal lives as teachers, electricians, and neurologists, after they, among other things, struck out Shohei Ohtani and cranked a homer out of the Tokyo Dome for a W. Crazy story behind those guys.
The seen of got a strikeout from Shohei Ohtani is unforgettable. And above all, sincerity for baseball. It was wonderful.
I wish there was a documentary of each team in this tournament…

Another huge highlight was Trea Turner hitting like 4 home runs in 3 games. He was on fire 🔥
The performance of Japan was outstanding to say the least. Personally, Ukyo Shuto reaching a sprint speed of 30.4 ft/s (ELITE) and reaching home plate from 1st base in only 10.3 seconds (3.08 seconds from 3rd to home) helped Murakami's walk-off, so it should be more evaluated.
It’s a shame how overlooked it is. Possibly the best base running ever seen.

This was honestly the best baseball I’ve seen since I was a kid! Every game mattered, the knockout rounds, nobody went down easy which made for amazing close games, star studded teams showed the power they truly hold, underdog stories, and my personal favorite, the best v the best with everything on the line! Thank you WBC, this was awesome!

Never took much for me to love baseball. Always been my favorite game. This tournament was something special though. Might have been the best and most fun baseball tournament I've ever really watched. What an instant classic.

Went from not caring about baseball to watching as much as I can get my hands on purely because of the WBC. What a great tournament for the sport.
Same here, Mexico turned me into a bipolar, laughing, screaming and everything in between. What an insane series.
As a Canadian, I always thought that baseball was mostly played in the USA and a few other countries but I realize that the game is now played in several countries around the world. This is absolutely great for the game. There is so much talent in many countries. As a hockey fan also, the same thing is happening with hockey. I don’t know if the pitcher from Nicaragua (Hebbert) has been drafted by a MLB team but make no mistake, this guy is ready to play in the major leagues. He will be sensational.
As an American I would love to see a couple Mexican teams in MLB. This tournament was like the Olympics of baseball and it was awesome. Many props to all the teams in the final, especially Japan. Hat's off from The Americas 👍🏻 Oh and I live in the PNW and we just got a hockey team in Seattle, so Go Kraken! 😉
I am convinced that increasing baseball's popularity around the world through this WBC will benefit MLB in the future.

Murakami was a Big Dog in this series. He’s the one that got them to the Final with that double. You can’t find any flaws in this Japanese team: cool under pressure and so fundamentally sound!!
What’s crazy is that Murakami was struggling all tournament, but he contributed exactly enough to get Japan the champion. The walkoff yes but he also scored 1 home run in the finals, a game that had exactly a 1 run difference
