How to draw shadow in perspective

Oh, it is so much simplier, than classical approach. But what about lightsourses, that dont stay on the same line as square's diagonal?
Edit: I think author meant so that you have to connect light ground point with two points of figure and light source with upper points of mentioned ones.
So this is just an old fashioned way but explained much simpler, sorry for misunderstanding, guys ;)

I was confused about that actually, to me it seems completly unnesesary to draw that line since it just limits your light source placement options.
