Huge respect for Bob Daisley, Lee and Randy, and utter contempt for Sharon and Ozzy for stealing Bob and Lee's rights. This is so disgusting.

I remember buying Diary of a Madman when I was in 7th grade. After dinner my mom drove me to the shopping mall and I bought it. I went straight up to my bedroom and put it on my record player. I put on my headphones and listened to it over and over ...next thing I know it's time to shower and get on the school bus ...I had stayed up all night listening to that album. Mind blown. Bob Daisley ...thank you from the bottom of my heart from my 7th grade self and my now adult self. "You Can't Kill Rock and Roll".

@@angelripper_420 February 27, 1982. Saturday night, I'm in 8th grade, think about the music I got from 7th grade (1980 up to sr yr high school 1986). I tell my parents I'm staying the night at a friends, their mom covered for me. My friends older brother was in high school and had one of those killer 70s party vans with the shag carpet and fish bowl windows. We are going to see Ozzy Osbourne live with Randy F'n Rhoads. I was a drummer at the time so I was looking forward to seeing who I thought would be Lee Kerslake on drums. On the way there I had my first beer and took one puff of "something" that was being passed around ...I was LIT! We walk into the Coliseum and I am trippin. I am lazer focused on the drums, but this tiny skinny blonde haired kid on guitar is blowing my mind. Where did he grow up to sound like that. In my mind he had grown up chained in the dungeon of a medieval castle. Everyone thought he was British. It was like the Coliseum had been lifted and landed on my head ...mind blown. Randy Rhoads about 3 weeks before the plane crash that killed him. This was 8th grade, I quit drums in 9th grade, started guitar my Jr year in High School 1985 and Randy was one of my main influences. That Saturday night rocked my world! Mind blown!

arguably the greatest rock album ever written

    • @michaelknight4041

I remember the first two "albums" I bought with my own money, they were actually cassettes by then and although I don't remember exactly how old I was it must have been around 7 or 8 since we still lived in the house that moved from when I was 9. I remember picking them out at the mall and paying with my "allowance" Queens greatest hits and Ozzy Osborne Bark at the Moon. I remember that album cover and being genuinely scared and at the same time totally enchanted by the music on that album. Ive been an Ozzy fan ever since and working both backwards and forwards I began to collect and study everything I could get my hands on by Ozzy. Soon I discovered Blizzard and Diary of course and I always paid attention to the different line ups, especially the guitarist because I was totally bitten by the guitar bug at a very early age. In those days you couldn't just get on the internet and find out everything you wanted to know about these things. It was kind of like professional wrestling when there's some change and no one ever mentions it and just acts like nothing happened. And so it was years before I learned the whole backstory of Ozzys various line up changes. Of course now its well known that Bob Daisly was a mainstay throughout the best Oz albums and did the bulk of the writing. I discovered black Sabbath by hearing the speak of the devil album and then I began to seek out those records. Wait a minute! Ozzy was in a band before all his solo stuff?! Once I got into Sabbath it was a wrap. I still consider them the best ever.

Ozzy was fired from Black Sabbath for being lazy and taking credit not deserved. With Sharon's help, he managed to continue the ruse as a solo artist. With that said, Ozzy has an iconic sound and writes awesome melodies. He just needs to understand that credit needs to go to where credit is deserved and not be a selfish asshole.
