  • If you're interested in adding a reversing camera to your Falcon, I think this may be the best option out there. This rear view mirror replaces your car's existing item completely, and still retains a fairly classy OEM look. It's also available for Commodores and many other vehicles!
It features a 9.6" LCD screen hidden behind the mirror glass, plus has an integrated 1080p dashcam that records from both front and rear cameras. #MOTORINGBOX

So agree that this should be standard equipment for all cars now. One quick time-saver - you can use a wire tap rather than cutting and splicing the wiring. You just shove your new wire in one port, ease the other port over the wire you are tapping into, fold over the locking mechanism and squeeze it shut until it clicks into place with some pliers, which pushes the metal tap into both the new wire and the original wire. What you did here is cleaner for sure, but for us bodgers looking to save time the wire tap is a good option :-) Which reminds me I used my last one installing the Mini3 Dashcam from one of your other recent videos (which I'm loving BTW!) so I need to order some more!

A very neat install. Using the existing rubber conduit in the boot lid is a great idea. I must have one of the oldest reversing cameras. Just a cheap one, I think I paid about $70 for it, nearly 7 years ago from an ebay seller in Sydney. 6" screen/mirror, which clips over the existing interior mirror. My vehicle is an FG mk2 cab-chassis: drop side tray, with 600mm high gates. The factory interior mirror can't see over the tray sides and is unusable anyway. Sturdy all-metal camera, which has survived being hit twice by other vehicles.

Those reversing cameras in the mirror would be so handy to have for spotting young kids and reversing in really tight areas, especially when in some places here car parks are almost too small for bigger cars like the public council car park in my local town. Also no matter how good you're at reversing you would still feel safer with a reversing camera for spotting very young kids which would never see behind the car. Also I generally find the modern new cars are a lot worse for rear visibility compared to old cars from the early 2000's and older. especially modern hatchbacks.

I have a feeling it might be a small bit of "play" where the mirror attaches to the mount on the windscreen. So it's probably still worth taking the mirror off, and maybe putting a small layer of something on the windscreen mount itself.. maybe electrical tape? If it helps to wedge the mirror on better, I reckon it'd get rid of the noise for sure.

Put your finger somewhere on the left half of the display and drag it up and down. It should show you more of what the camera sees (top towards the sky or bottom towards the road). The narrow screen of the mirror shows you only a part of the camera's feed, but you can see all of it, this way.
Put your finger somewhere on the right half of the display, then drag up/down. It should adjust the screen brightness.
Drag your finger horizontally on the display, from left to right.
    From right to left.
    See what happens.
Look in the manual, these functions should be written there.
If your mirror does not have these features, I apologize for giving you false hope. It still has great image quality. Also, I'm curious about night time image quality, especially the rear camera's. They can supposedly show more details than a human eye can see.

Why would anyone need a reversing camera????
You have two side mirrors and a central mirror and supposedly you passed drivers license.
If ppl need a reversing camera then they shouldn't have a license.
    And a car.

If you need a reverse camera, for a sedan, you shouldn't be driving period. It's in the license test to use the mirrors...

      James Australian,
Yeh, kids are so predicable they never run behind a reversing car, ever.
Answer this Einstein. Why are new cars fitted with them from factory?

      Man you're so special.
What's wrong with fitting a device that may save a child's life.
