I’ve grown the senorita rosalita Cleome for the last 2 years. It is fantastic. Easily grew 4x3 for me and nonstop blooms. I think you will love it!

Thanks for the garden inspiration! It's snowing here in Akron OH, so I'm glad to think about my spring planting plans.

That cleome from Proven winners is one of the best annuals I’ve ever grown; it was about 4-5 Ft tall; I had no idea that little plant would become a shrub in one season.

For people who want a vigorous petunia from seed, the wave series is phenomenal. I grow both. It stands up pretty well to most PW petunias. But I will always grow Bubble Gum and mini vista white in the landscape. Amaze. I also think PW's african daisies are a unsung hero.

Warning on the truffula pink- rabbit and deer magnet. I grew in my landscape and they were eaten down to the ground as soon as they started to regrow. In an effort to save them, I dug them up and planted in my containers. They bounced back and bloomed profusely. Definitely a great plant with a lot of vigor but must be the tastiest too.

Looking forward to following your garden this Spring and Summer! The Double Up White Begonias from Proven Winners did absolutely amazing for me 2 years ago. They have dark leaves and all summer long, and well into Fall, they looked like they were covered in popcorn! I’m using them again this year.

Thank you for another great video. I love all detail you provide and inspiration to try new plants in my garden. I’ve grown both the Supertunias you mentioned and they were outstanding. Can’t wait to see how your garden beds look this summer. I’m in Northern California and we are having a mild winter too. I’m itching to get things planted!

Bordeaux is one of my favorites too. Interested to see how the Angels Wings does for you. It doesn’t do well here in Philadelphia region once the humidity of the summer hits.

Senorita Rosalita gets much bigger than two feet wide. It absolutely overtook its space where I planted it and had to pull it out halfway through the season. Maybe plant it in part sun and not full sun to keep its growth in check.

In Z8a upstate South Carolina, we’ll have spring before you have it so I’m starting snapdragons, ranunculus, and lettuce and hope to start pincushion flowers asap. My daffodils are pushing up but no flowers yet. Best of all, the cherry tree blooms are beginning to appear. Good luck to all gardeners!

    Hi Matthew!
These are all my favorite annuals from growing last year. The marshmallow bidens did so well in heat w high humidity, although need quite a bit of water to not shrivel up. They would do really good on drip. There is a pink Biden also sold at those kaw valley pop up nurseries, awesome as well. They also sold a dark blue lobelia not a PW brand that did so amazing all summer, handles our weather beautifully. It’s called Techno upright dark blue as a fav for heat tolerance. Thought you might like that one too. The purple/pink cleome is a rock star in our Midwest weather didn’t require a lot of water once it was established, ha plus no spreading. Love the Gomphrena, the dear or rabbits ate that one and the pentus down to the ground. Put some repellent pellets down around it, helped a lot. I struggled with guara and salvia past couple of years, had hundreds of transparent little flying bugs eating the buds. I can’t figure out what those bugs are to get rid of them. Also, going to try the artist blue and an aloha dwarf Ageratum grown from seed to see if they’re the same vigor and growth. They’re also a rock star in our Midwest heat and didn’t need much watering at all. Love your pick selection, it’s going to be so beautiful! Can’t wait to see your garden this year! So much fun with all that land to work with. ❤😊

I don’t have a lot of extra space, Matthew so I tend to grow only the classic annuals like zinnias, cosmos, cleome, and four o’clock. I do like Mexican sunflower as well. I am however, tempted by some of these new ones.

To me cobalt it is a dark blue towards navy blue so the name does not represent the color! They shoul quit calling purple flowers blue! I don't usualy buy annuals because they are expensive. It would be different if I could find plugs! I already spent so much money on plants and with the freezes we had....will see! I really hope that they are not all dead! Blessings!

Do you know if aphids overwinter in soil? My Supertunias were covered in them last year, thankfully about the time to be pulled out anyway. I'm afraid to plant them again. Zone 6 Ohio

The eggs potentially could. I’ve never reused potting soil that I’ve planted Supertunias in before, so if you’re using containers I’d recommend you replace it.
