If I had your knowledge, I think I'd get chatting with and supply a local pub with the basket of edibles in exchange for beers 🍻 and cheese 🧀 . Another excellent video.
The moment he threw mushrooms on the pen, i was smelling them here in croatia ❤
😇 We love you! Thanks for teaching .💚
😁🌱
This is awesome, foraging your lunch and cooking it there ❤
The velvet shanks are so pretty ❤
Brilliant information thank you ☺️
Would have loved to see a bit more of your camp!
There wasn’t much else to film to honest 😆. Sat by the fire for about an hour then hid from the rain haha

@@UKWILDCRAFTS happy Christmas pal
Looked like a nice little trip if a little damp at times. I really admire your ethos of living with and in nature.
Thanks 😁🌱
So peaceful. Happy New Year Lewis!
Excellent video as usual! Thank you!
Thanks 😁
Thanks for sharing very much appreciated. Will have to keep my eyes peeled this weekend.
Another easy to follow informative video. Thanks.
Thanks 😁
Another great video! So many winter chanterelles out there at the moment. Have had baskets full. No velvet shanks yet but will keep looking. And, I can't believe it but I have the same green tent as you! Nemo, love mine! Never seen another until today! One day I might pluck up the courage to wild camp in it too. Bit of a scaredy cat me!
Thanks. Yes a great year for winter chanterelles! Love my Nemo tent 😁
Thank you
A real joy to watch. Thank you, as always 🍄
Thanks 😁
Fantastic content! Makes me want to get out despite the cold
Fantastic video marra 👍👍👍
Cheers 😁
This is my dream, but I'm too scared to go alone and dont have any friends who'll come with me 😥 I wonder if there are any foraging and camping meet ups
I’m not too sure if there’s any meet up groups for foraging and camping. There’s a wildcamping in the UK group on Facebook and I know they do wild camp meet ups sometimes
Appreciate you 🙏
Mushrooms scare me plus: how can i tell if they are rotten or not and what is the best identification to edible books to buy?
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Unless one is prepared to acquire the knowledge, this is playing Russian roulette with fungi. If it looks like a Morel, it’s safe. Nothing else is, unless one knows for sure.
That’s the idea, I’ve spent many years learning fungi so definitely not Russian roulette. If it looks like a morel it’s safe? What about false morel (Gyromitra esculenta)? That’s deadly poisonous
@@UKWILDCRAFTS Yes, but: “You can eat enough of the neurotoxin in false morels to kill you - but it would take a high concentration in a lot of mushrooms. For children, the lethal dosage of gyromitrin is 10 to 30 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. This increases to 20 to 50 milligrams per kilogram in adults.” - from Web MD
It’s still classed as a deadly poisonous mushroom and can cause severe symptoms even if you don’t eat enough to be fatal. Definitely not a safe mushroom
The velvet shank is a pretty little mushroom. When foraging and some are up high in a tree, like the wood ears, how do you get to them?
Hi, I am from the Netherlands. What is the area where you live? Is it near the woods you use for the filming locations?
Hi I live around Bristol area in south west England, but this was filmed in south Wales
@UKWILDCRAFTS Ah that makes sense. Are all your video's filmed in Wales?
Those look a few dark, I always thought chanterelles were orange. I might have missed them myself
Think they start of orange/yellow on the top but darken with age, stems are usually yellow sometime bifurcated.
These are winter chanterelle (Craterellus tubaeformis), much darker than golden chanterelle 😊 czcams.com/video/h4qVJEe3BnE/video.htmlsi=_q8dIoeCmf7aqJCr
Apart from men, who else (animals) eat mushrooms????? 🙄
I been following your monthly foraging videos, writing notes in my pocketbook. I've just 1 question, is there a book somewhere with similar information?
That’s great 😁. I’m working on a foraging book though it’s a long way off. I’ve done a video on the foraging books I use czcams.com/video/lseCxX6OYA0/video.htmlsi=dU4mUGc9eQ3WABFd
