Fire types are very offensively powerful, but their defenses and speed are often mediocre. But what if we got access to the full spectrum of Fire encounters in Pokémon Black 2... could they beat the game's hardest challenge?

We've done some hard Pokemon challenges in the past, but usually they were a solo Pokemon challenge run. What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only one type? Today we find out: can I beat a Pokemon Black 2Hardcore Nuzlocke with only Fire types? No items and no overleveling!

Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of importing Pokémon, Items, etc.

I'm so glad that Volcarona got to be such a clutch member. I adore it, it's one of my favorite mons ever. So seeing it do well heals my heart.
I really appreciate seeing how Silph's youtube skills have improved over time. I just recently went back to watch some of his earlier episodes as a helpful distraction to fall asleep too and the quality of the jokes, video editing/sfx and even just the general pacing or flow of the episodes has noticeably, maybe even vastly, improved.
fire types do tend have bad defensive stats but also quite a few resistances, excited to see how this one plays out.

As you were sweeping through Grimsley, your attack kept on getting lower and lower because of Superpower's secondary effect. It didn't matter this time, but it's something to keep in mind. Earlier in the video as well, you missed a KO due to the attack drop from Superpower that you thought you had calculated for.
35:25 Technically Krookodile lowered Darmanitan's attack to +4, since Superpower against Liepard lowered it to +5
he didn't use superpower on liepard, he used fire punch

Comparing your run with FlygonHG's White 2 Fire types only run, it's interesting how this challenge could be tackled in two different and unique ways, probably even more! Shows just how versatile Fire types are 😌 Altho those Confuse Rays sure got lucky at a few points ;) GG's either way! This challenge is hard AF haha

Darmanitan is stupid good in the Unova games in general so its no surprise it ended up pulling a lot of weight here. Volcarona sweeping Iris single-handedly was also quite nice.

I don't know if it's just me but for monolocks I love seeing the routes and not just going straight into what the encounter is as I love testing my memory or getting surprised there is a Pokemon I didn't know about

Once again a nuzlocke by my favourite CZcamsr.
Also, just played a run through Black and used Simisear for the first time. It was surprisingly fun and good in my experience. Also also, I really like and miss rotation battles

Black and white 2 are the best freaking games in all the main series, from the story, to the sound tracks, to the sprites, to the pokemon introduced. You can't change my mind.

Random concept for a challenge video, Use pokemon that can learn moves of the opposite type of the pokemon and make it a nuzlocke. Ex: gyarados using the move flamethrower… and so on and so forth… A creative nuzlocke challenge i know, thank me later.
