Illuminating and seemingly very rare interview with Lee Taylor, one of hifi's design, engineering & manufacturing greats - and a true gentleman to boot.
I have owned Leema kit for 10yrs+. The highest quality battleship build and componentry within exude reliability confidence for the owner.
My gear to date, Antilla 2s CD player, Tucanas 1, followed by the 2, with a Hydra 1 for bi-amping - all interconnects Mogami 2549 RCA.
It is a powerful, well-controlled & emotionally engaging system with refined detail, delicacy & dynamic grip.
Aftersales / customer service from Leema Acoustics is of the very best.
    Rock on. 🤓👍

I use the Leema pre amp and power amp from the Elements precision series now for some years. In combination with good interlinks (leema 2 and Van den Hul gold hybrid xlr) and high end powercords (John van Gent silver/gold), Driven by the Quad 25L. Its absolutly amazing sounding. High detail, very natural and just stunning each time you listen. Before you know it, you listen for 4 hours. I highly recommend the Leema Elements amps. They are a real gem. Big respect from the makers of Leema! Greetz from Holland

I'm going to make the jump from, rega aethos amp and rotel cd11 tribute, to Tucana 2 anniversary edition amp and Antila 2s eco CD, hoping for big sound improvement for the money.

Works in high end audio, uses a shitty mic or not mic at all. This is starting to be a theme!

@@rustypipe I heard a system with your requirements.it was 250k I closed my eyes and went to touch the performance as I thought it was live in the room. It was the Esoteric and Raidho room at ascot hifi show . Terry has done a film of it.

Look at sonus Faber and a class a amp. Use soundcare super spikes on speakers and good wire. Should cost around £1500

    • @lint8391
      @lint8391 Před 3 lety +1

Are you sure you want "sweet" treble? For sure, some treble based instruments sound sweet, but many do not.
How about having treble that sounds like.... nothing - as in sounds like whatever set of instruments / recording is being played?
No sibilance - as in the same amount of sibilance as if the vocalist were there in the room with you is possible.
There are a few routes to getting the sound that you want. Starting with huge classic American (high end by price when new) speakers. One example of many, being speakers based on Altec 604's.

I hope you do realise that high quality recording is done in digital but hope that recording will be without too much processing ie, compression and other signal modifications not done by the artiste, vinyl records cannot match the sound quality of digital but cheap days are ubiquitous.

The only reason my Sansui AU-717 is what it is because of it's elbows. Class D is never the direct hit. If you want to simulate the real vintage you talk $ 20.000 amp alone.
    This is my opinion :-)

When he said his reference system was his father's stereo I thought this was going to be a joke interview, and then he said his father had Quads.
