I think I need to do a rewatch of Empire of Death after this review.
Unfortunately I watched at home at Midnight and I was absolutely exhausted trying to stay awake for it.
My feelings at the end bearing in mind being so tired was confusion and underwhelmed. I have no issues whatsoever with Ruby's mum being a normal person and actually quite like that HOWEVER there was no answers to the snow, no answer as to why the memory kept changing, no answer as to why Maestro was so scared of the hidden song in her, no answer as to why there was a hidden song. Why would all those factors be there that Russell put there not the fans, Russell bigged her up to be something extraordinary and then bam she is not and none of those questions have been answered.
From reviews I have seen there is stuff I missed by being half asleep so I am going to rewatch I just haven't had the opportunity yet.
Overall based on my initial half asleep feelings I don't feel this was a good finale and not the best episode this season.
There were good moments I absolutely loved Mel in this and yes I saw the moment between Ibrahim and Kate and I so hope that happens Kate deserves it 😊
I wonder if there was a 'just play it safe' element in RTD's writing this season as part of the soft reboot master plan. If so, I'd say they just got away with it. I'm expecting a lot, lot more for Season 2😁👍
