Used to drive about 40 miles there and back to work Monday to Friday on my purple fizzy also gave pillion to a mate most lunchtimes to play five a side at the nearby sports centre. I can’t remember it ever going wrong. Still looks a lovely machine.

I had the same.year which my mum got me for my 16th birthday in Nov. 1976. This one has got my initials on the number plate. Wonderful memories for me and my mates. Thank you. I would love to own this one.

I had YSC 452M in gold bought 2nd hand in 1975 for £145 (£8 a month which was all I could afford). I actually kept it long after passing my car test cos it was fun.

I had a brown one in 1977 when I was 16 still riding myself ,Harleys for the last 35 years… but have fond memories of my fizzy, there was 15 of us riding around together back then wish I still had it

It would be cool if Yamaha remade it. Although I don't think a 2-cycle would pass emissions but a fuel-injected four stroke probably would.

Had a couple of these when I was 16 baja brown one and a yellow DX,great memories of self tuning and holed pistons alspeed expansions. The price of these things has gone absolutely crazy there’s a lot of people out there with more money than sense.

Yes too much money but i'd still love one! & the purple i think in '74 was the hey day for the fizzy!
I had a new ap50 in 1977 in blue & my mate had one of these in purple too!
I was abit faster when flat out & lying on the tank!! I always did like the yammys tho! 👍

That is a beauty Rob, my favourite of the 'sports mopeds' was the Garelli Tiger Cross, first bike I ever rode back in 75

I had a tiger cross ran it in for 1250 then it would perform . Sold it for a bike guy took the baffles out after and it flew. My careful running in 😊

Beautiful little bike. I remember in the 80s me and my mates riding these on the track abusing them. How times have changed. Following up from the other chaps message re, price slowing down, purely because of nostalgia these were bike from a certain era. Later models of moped will become more valuable because of the next generation however, i do believe the 70 mopeds will hold strong value.

Prices are dipping now big time, there are some asking for £9K but they aren’t selling, seems £6K is the going price for a fully restored one esp if it has pattern parts , but good luck with the sale

Nice one.....I prefer mine a bit "oily rag" and showing their age then you're not worried about that first stone-chip....and they are what they are. Each to his own. The demand is so strong for these....prices higher than a nice GT750 kettle. Cor blimey !

A friend (nut job on two wheels) did similarly, late in 1977, had a Fizz DX, then rode to the test centre on his 17th birthday on his KH250, then by 10am he was minus L pates and out on a CB 750. Between him and his dad, they had about 5 bikes in their garage at the time

I have a Honda SS50 5 speed disk brake model to retore runs like new with only 5000 mile from new also i have a AP50 for restoration. The AP50 only has 6000 miles on it . I will sell the AP but not the SS50 as it was my first bike on the road. Please get intouch if you want the AP as i need the cash to rebuild my SS50. Great stream i love these bikes but it would sound better with the sports exhaust . That screem as it came down the road in 1997 was great . 👍👍👍👍

I think it was in '76 that the law changed so the engines had to be restricted to around 30mph. the early P reg FS1E's were unrestricted but the later ones were a totally different bike.

1974 price was £195.00. Not sure but I can hear a little piston rattle on this one, which was pretty normal as these machines were all ridden at full tilt….at least mine was anyway!
