- Follow Craig's step-by-step instructions and learn how to create this easy Palm Tree design. This design works well for a Party, Event, Pool Party, or Luau! Craig created this tree to be 5ft tall but gives you options to change the height to fit most any space! This design uses Qualatex latex balloons and Foil Palm Fronds.
This design was created with air-filled balloons - no helium needed!

"sleeping bag roll" alone was worth the video, still a classic :)
Absolutely the best teacher . Amazing video I love how detail you were .
What a nice comment, @brandiecastle1075! I'm passing it on to Craig right now. It will make his day. Thank you!
Thank you!
This was an amazing video. You are a great teacher. Good speed and details you make it easy to understand. Thank you!
What a lovely comment - thank you, Mandi! So glad you enjoyed it! Feel free to tag us on any balloon designs you make - we'd love to see them. We're on all the Social Media channels. Thank YOU!
Great video. Thank you!
Thanks, Jasmine! We appreciate that!
We began to put the quads onto the pvc pipe, but we found it difficult to twist them 360 degrees. It seems like the necks of the balloons were too tight for twisting them around.. we have some gaps where you can see the pipe now. Where did we go wrong?
Thank you, super helpful! 😊
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
This is a very good video and I like how it turned out, however, is there a possibly of damaging the valve at the bottom of the palm fronds? I was watching another video where it was cautioned against rolling the 260 past the valve.
Hi Jay, thanks for the comment! In this application, rolling the tab past the valve is OK because it's cinched closed with the 260. When you're inflating a foil balloon with helium and tying a ribbon to it, you'd want to keep the valve clear so you could reinflate it if needed. For the palm fronds in this video, you COULD tie the 260 away from the valve and it would work as well. Thanks!
@@LoftusInternational Thank you so much for explaining this!
The palm trees turned out perfectly! (I am somewhat picky, so it meant a lot to bring the best to my customer. Client was thrilled!)! Thanks again!
How many 11 inch balloons did you use for the palm tree?
Hi there! We used about 44 of the 11” balloons!
How many balloons did you use for this palm tree
Hi Rossie - we used 44 latex balloons and 4 foil balloons.
How many balloons did you use?
What kind of yarn did you use for the fpil leaves?
Hi! Craig uses a 260 tying/twister balloon (the kind you use to make balloon dogs), and wraps the neck (see 8:58 in video). He can then place the Leaf on top of the column and pull/stretch the 260 balloon around to secure the Leaf. Using the 260 balloon is perfect - it stretches easily, it disappears inside the column if you use the same color as the column balloons, and there's excellent friction between the 260 and other latex balloons to keep everything in place. Let us know if this does not answer your question!
what are the sizes
@@momshieeekate1342 Hi Kate, we used 36" Palm Fronds and 11" Brown Latex filled to 8", 7", and 6".
What did you use the conduit for
We used pvc pipe on this design. If you wanted to go taller you could insert the conduit inside of the pvc to give you the height you desired. Thanks for the comment!
