That's why those people who continue to call this a "hoax" are missing the whole thing-- Bunny has made her own, unique sentences to get her point across. She's not just repeating what the human said. She's thinking about what she wants to say and how to say it. And "sound settle ... MOM" is sooooo funny. I mean, she made up the whole "sound settle" thing all on her own, then one day said it to mom as well as saying it to other things that were bothering her.

I like how Bunny is experimenting with adding a subject to her statements. It's a heck of a thing for a dog to understand the need for clarity when there are multiple subjects present (like mom, dad and otter). Kind of mind boggling when you really think about it.

Okay yes, and here is what blows my mind that I don't see enough people commenting on: BUNNY UNDERSTANDS EVERYTHING MOM IS SAYING. We get so excited about Bunny talking, we forget to remark on the fact that she is UNDERSTANDING ALL OF THE HUMAN WORDS/CONCEPTS. So, yes, your dog and cat understand what you are saying to them, assuming you're using familiar frames of reference (if you suddenly start talking about apple trees and they don't know what that is, no they won't understand, but that's true of a human as well).

The sad thing is that they are intelligent enough to learn our language, but we have still not really even tried to learn theirs.

The way in which these dogs join thoughts together, observe and communicate astounds me! Surely the scientific community must be reevaluating dog intelligence because of dogs like Bunny?? Amazing stuff!
