I was lucky to watch Geoff do a demo and bought a piece off him. Had it professionally framed and it’s on the wall. Fabulous picture of people pushing a boat trailer up a slope. You can feel the strain because the image is so accurate, it’s not a life drawing. Great artist.
I have this book, so glad you reviewed it.
the step-by-step tutorials look really good n informative
I love his work.. his videos are really wonderful and very helpful ...
I think that is the one downstairs that my mum used . She painted magical skies 😀 I have to go and look now
thank you
Great book I checked it out at the library. Another great book on skies is by Ron Ranson.
All I can say is "Ask and ye shall receive." Seems given enough time there'll be a book that's laser focused on any topic.
So many desirable books. This one looks excellent. Skies and water are two subjects that have great appeal for me.
Thank you Teoh. I'm a fan of Geoff Kersey who has a knack for explaining things as well as being a fine watercolourist in the British tradition. His visual language is all very evocative and familiar to me, but I wonder how often you see those heavy skies and muted colours in Singapore?
We don't see those colours here, but we can still use the same techniques, just with different colours. \ (•◡•) /
@@teohyc :-) My impression of Singapore has largely been shaped by your videos, and it seems a distinctly vibrant place. Drizzle and murk here today - it's like viewing the world through several layers of tracing paper.
Very helpful thx. You might take a look at the books of Joe Cartwright. I found them very helpful took. Full tutorials with alot to learn.
Hey Theo, can you do a video on painting water please? I really need some advice on this XD Great book btw! I´ll look for it the next time I go into my local art store :D
Hi. Teoh has reviewed a book, _"Painting Water in Watercolor"_ by Ron Hazell, on his blog at www.parkablogs.com/content/book-review-artists-guide-painting-water-watercolor-30-techniques
I have the book and it is excellent :)
@@z4k4z oh thank you very much! :D

The best watercolorist when it comes to painting the skies that I have found so far is Sergey Temerev. Don't want to diss Kersey, but his skies are a piece of cake compared to Temerev. There are no books from him unfortunately, just a bunch of Russian speaking tutorials here on youtube.
