Thank you for your continued efforts. I've become quite a fan of all your videos, especially in that you provide such a diverse range of topics and products, and present them so casually. Well done. I've purchased several products based on your reviews, some I enjoy, some not so much. This book isn't something I'd be interested in, but it's a great lead to something that can/will help many beginners. At USD$29.99 for the eBook, it's a great deal. On eBay, the printed version goes for upwards of USD$80-$100, making it rare and expensive, so again, your review is a great lead for beginners. Great work and I'm grateful for the great time and consideration you put into your work. My favorite channel on CZcams! Cheers!
Thanks for your support. ヾ(⌐■_■)ノ♪
That looks fantastic. Thanks for showing us. I hope she releases it as a physical copy again soon because that's the sort of book I prefer to read on paper.
Thank you, kind sir. I have just discovered my interest in sketching and watercolor painting thanks to your channel
+Evert Stanley That's great 😁
Great book, I've had it for several years, but somehow it got out of the rotation. Thank you for reminding me to pull this book off the shelf and revisit it.
OMgosh- I have to have this book! Thanks so much for sharing this with us!💕
This is one of my favorite too. I believe she has moved to Costa Rica now. It is a most informative book that I recommend to all students.
I hope it comes back in print as a physical book. I prefer to read ebooks most of the time, but art books are better in print. Thank you for another great review.
This is one of my favorite book too!!!
What an excellent book Teoh,, I hope i can get it . thanks. !
Looks very helpful... thank you so much for the review!! I love your blog
Thanks ~(˘▾˘~) (~˘▾˘)~
Teoh.. can you show your color study sketchbook? It’s interesting to see how 2 DS colors when mixed together. Their individual granulation stand out distinctly.
I found this extremely expensive at Amazon. So I searched it on local online bookstores.. Fortunately there is exactly the same book translated into Korean at a real good price. only about $8 including shipping fee!! (I'm feeling lucky that I can read Korean.) Thanks for your review, always!
+ssum yoon It is out of print. Some sellers jacked up the price.
ty for sharing
thank you! could your introduce other books of Tom Robert(one of writers)?
Found a copy for $881.50 us. So affordable lol Jan should just reprint it again
You can get the electronic copy instead from her website.

HI! Nice reviews! I love all your youtube videos! Want a bit of help... do you know if the book "Encyclopedia of colour for watercolour artists" from the same author has similar content to this one? Thanks!
Not sure about that book. I've not seen it before
@@teohyc thanks!
I've chain watching your videos. They're very informative and educational. And it's just fun watching you sketch. I'm wondering are we allowed to request/recommend books for you to consider reviewing?
+pumkin54 Hi, thanks for your support. I do accept requests but it would be difficult for me to review any of the requested books soon because I take a long time to go through and make a review. For books, I typically release a book review here on CZcams weekly, and. more frequently on my blog.
Well, just in case they interest you, here are the two books:
5-Minute Sketching People: www.amazon.com/gp/product/1770857583
5-Minute Sketching Architecture:
www.amazon.com/gp/product/1770857575
:)
When you get a chance, can you do a review over Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus Liquid Watercolors? Or any other liquid water color. I love you videos! C:
Thanks. Perhaps in the future. :-)
Beautiful but what would your next best book be after this one?! I really want one good watercolor book not eBook format! Thanks!!
There are many good watercolour books. It depends on which aspect you're looking for. 'Urban Watercolor Sketching' and 'Making Color Sing' are good. You can look for their review on this page www.parkablogs.com/tags/watercolour-instructional-books
OK! many thanks...I am making my way through your book reviews and other vids too! Great content...nice job!
Her "Ebook" is not from the publisher but her own scanned water damaged copy.
Oh, wow 😲
I don't see the link for the ebook?
It's in the video description janhart.com/product/jan-s-watercolor-book/
It’s available in amazon uk for £66. Wow
This book is out of print. You may want to check out the artist's website and get the ebook version.
That kind of books which can kill all creativity and intuition among beginners !!
; )
+mrirurfkjsdo And how would knowing more kill creativity? Unless one just reads without practicing.
Oh, it'd be a long discuss which has no place here... i know that sort of book, which of course could be very interesting and helpful etc (not all of them, far from that !), but my meaning is that such book so many times, and specially read by beginners, could easily transform the practice of a medium as a very tough science, very difficult, etc, instead of liberate they creativity, their intuitive graphic expression, etc...
I teach painting since long, and i always remind while sessions, that for exemple Watercolour, is in fact very simple !!! of course, 'simple' with practice, with work, but painting in general is very 'simple' if you liberate your spontaneity, your intuitivity, your gesture, your body, your mind, etc... no need at first to begin to study chromatic circle 'science' before starting painting...
And that sort of book, if read by a beginner, could really discouraged any effort, any attempt.
But don't misinterpret my com, mate !!... i just like your channel, and just leave sometimes a quick com, to speak, to exchange, no more, and surely no negative review about you !!! ; )
And this book here, by the way, seem quite good and well done.
Cheers.
This book has a lot of basic information that I think beginners will find fascinating. The advanced information may only make sense to the reader later on. It's a book I go back to again and again. \ (•◡•) /
