Nice choice for the just married couple, a brand new 1964 Impala Convertible. I know that marriage lasted.
Beautiful footage. 409 big block Biscayne, four-wheel drum brakes, and no seat belts. Ah, the good old days!
No airbags, A/C or that crap in the dash (Touch Screen). Just flying by your seat of your pants.... That's living, the good old days.
If only we could relive those days of always being at risk of flying through your windshield
@@MrJack-uk2hpIf you had seat belts, you would not have to worry about flying through the windshield, you just have the steering column smash your chest and if you're lucky you survive the internal injuries.
Dam lucky to have all those cameramen in the right place at the right time!!
It was a training film.
Cars obviously provided by a Chevrolet dealer.
If the robbers had been driving a ford they would have gotten away.
Chevy lovers are in denial of that reality

Who else thought about Andy Griffith giving chase in Mayberry?
Lol or maybe beaver and Wally stole a 62 impala
thaintriguing1 he would talk you over into submission
How?
Andy and Barney only drove Fords
They needed Jack Webb's voice for the narrator..............Just the facts ma'am.
Fuck me those Chevys handled those corners at speed. I love how 50s, 60s and 70s cars always have the back end sway out after turning at speed and drift slightly, it's so satisfying and looks awesome.
being a police in the '60s would be a dream
Why
Nostalgia is a powerful drug.
It was very dangerous then I hope you know
And everyone drove a chevy...🤣
The police car was a 1964 Belair and the vehicle he was chasing was a 1962 Impala.
Thanks. We'll add that nugget of info to our description.
@@Myfootage Came w 3 different 409's that year. The L31 and L33 and L80, and they ranged anywhere from 380-425 horsepower! a 409 powerd car with the 340 horse motor ran a 0-60 in 6.6 seconds and a 15.2 in 1/4 mile! and topped out at 124 Mph.. Ironically the 400 Horsepower car ran a 15.3, thus bias ply tires/no traction
I would give anything to live back in those days and just be able to switch the whole time to see how time changed
You must be white 😂
@@WstWrld whats the problem with being white?
60 years later people will say the same.

That 1964 Chevy Biscayne patrol car had a 409 engine as indicated by the fender emblem. Look for the flagged V emblem on the drivers side front fender, just above it are the numerals 409.
Not only was the 409 a fine running engine ...
but, it make short work of wiping up spills in the kitchen.
My cousin had a white 62' with the bubble back window, white steel rims and baby moons. It was awesome. Took all I had to depress that clutch pedal. 409 Wedge.
Those guys gave up way too easily. They should have circled back and gunned it into the damn field over by Devil's Gulch and Mack's general store.
You been to Devil's Gulch?
Room between 2 roadblock cars
Pretty impressive speeds and driving from the 50's!!!
amarsbarr We agree amarsbarr. Thanks for the comment!
amarsbarr Lots of cars from the 50's and 60's could easily hit 125 mph or faster. That was the dawn of the "Muscle Car" era.
+amarsbarr Those cars are a 1962 and 1964 Chevys. I love those cars.
+Christine Gruenberg ya those cars carried on pretty nice after the 50s, the long body shaped cars of the early 60s to the muscles cars of the late and early 1960s and 70s
+amarsbarr it was the early 60s :)
you don't suppose that Chevrolet had a hand in creating this video, do you!
I was thinking the same thing, although there was one cop car that looked like either a Ford or Dodge
In the original 'Smokey and the Bandit' a Dodge Monaco cop car (with 2 headlights) morphed into a Pontiac Grand Am (with 4 headlights) mid-chase as Pontiac supplied the cars in that film!
dan casey yup, 62 suspect car, 64 cruisers, 64 convertible " just married- only non chevy was the 60 Plymouth wagon at the start.
@@felipecardoza5829 And a 1964 Chevy truck.
OMG that 64 belair, or biscayne cop car had a fac. Tac
That's a special order police package,high performance!!!!!!!!
yes yes yes, I just noticed that too... WOW, super RARE!!!!
and that was probably a 409 cubic inch V8 🏁🏁
& of course radio delete
The Federal Electronic siren was not made back then
thanks i thought is sounded out of place here
This somehow showed up on my list and I find the hilarious comments alone well worth the visit!
409 Tri-powered Police Interceptor package? Bias ply tires. Smoke em if you got em.

Does anyone know where this was filmed
CHEVROLET: KEEPING TOW COMPANY'S AND JUNK YARDS IN BUSINESS FOR OVER 100 YEARS!!! LMAO!

That play in the steering wheel makes me nervous.
Grand Theft Auto: 1957 version.
glenn sitts It’s more like LA Noire.
TheTimoprimo L.A Noir was in the 40s.
Or it could be mafia lll or beamng drive
That cop must have had a tracer, following robbers 2 miles ahead.
Can anybody tell me what color the police lights on the roof of Topeka PD’s cars were back then? I can’t tell by the black and white video if those police lights are red or blue.
Probably blue. Back then red was for the fire engines and ambulances.
@@david.m.304 thanks for the tip.
The camera man: "Creative Mode Is The Best Option"
"Also add in that invisibility potion too."
"Set the roadblock at K13 and Cornfield". "Rodger that". Filmed on location.
it's missing the "Vehicles Provided by General Motors Corporation" at the end.
2:25 1964 Chevy Impala Convertible. Cop car is 1964 Chevy Biscayne.
Is that a Federal Signal PA15? Correct me if I'm incorrect.
Where’s the audio in the video, I ain’t hearing nothing
This is honestly pretty cool, considering I live near Topeka.
Great old Impala SS chase. Awesome roadable cars now only seen shiny not driven hard down gravel back roads.
I own a 1964 Impala SS with a 327, it's my daily driver, it's got a rust bubble here n there with a scratch or two, but it looks good and I drive it everywhere, its my only car and I love it
What is the name of the movie?
wow, I loved this, for real. I'm not lying. so boring to watch modern day chases, but old times chases are so good to watch.
Safety and performance says all.
webcam or movis,?
Movie....
What movie is this
Where is the audio?
And......it's a 409/4-speed. Note the factory tach, stock w/4-speed L74 327's & all 409's.
Was this from myfootage.com 261? I couldn't tell.....
Having owned & driven a '64 Impala SS, can't imagine driving those sloppy suspensions today, especially without seat & shoulder belts.
Nice 62' Hardtop their chasing but I'll take the two 64' Hardtops as well!
Those officers must've been fishing or having a pizza party to have been in that rural setting and in position to intercept. 😅
What I thought was cool was the factory tach on the dash of the cop car. This was in Kansas so those Shoebox cop cars had 327 ,325horse Corvette engines.Back in the when that meant something.
Or the four o nine!!!!!!!
Would you say a 440 back in the day would outrun a cop car of that era? 👀
@@Thestockxj96 Oh yeah a Dodge custom with a 426 max wedge or 440 wedge was cop car of choice. Along the Fury.
@@dougslittlediesel what if you had a car in that era with an upgraded 440 do you think it could outrun cop 440?
You can tell that this was before Lady Bird Johnson. Did you see all those billboards on the freeway?
You can definitely tell this is pre-Newhall (Yes I know it's early 60's) by how the cops approached armed suspects
409 in the police car? The three kids fishing on the bridge don't seem startled.
Two kids and an older man with a pipe.
Police cars ...vintage cherry on top
As did ambulances.
Police had a much lower profile in the 1960s and 70s.
Those were the days!
"in car" audio obviously recorded in a studio.
i would like a cop in this time
I'm glad the cops caught them.
Looks like its the kansas highway patrol
Chevy Biscayne seemingly made good squad cars. Built for the tough jobs: chasing down crooks.
The bad guy is driving a 1962 Chevrolet Impala - the cops are driving 1964 Chevrolet Biscaynes
My Dad had one of those two taillight Bel Airs.
The Dukes of Hazzard would have caught the bank-robbers long before the cops. Then have to flee on implication of being involved by the sheriff. Heh!
All that back-up crawled out of the woodwork just on cue.
You ain’t gonna catch me coppa! Cause if you it’s curtains for me!
It's a great commercial for Chevrolet ... '62 Impala, '64 Impala convertible (my dream car), '64 Biscayne or Bel Air coupe...
The car that is being chased is a 1964 Chevy SS Impala with a 409 engine Cop car striped down Chevy with an 409 HD engine .
There’s no audio
GM should bring these cars back . No air bags no computers no plastic . ~ hard life (MULDEW)
No safety features either!
Looks like they were just married they have nothing to lose.
409 with dual quads for the cop car?? Doubled as a Chevy commercial
jim dandy JOHNSON COUNTY KS HAD 1958 CHEVY COP CARS WITH 348 4 BARREL CARB AND 3 ON A TREE STICK SHIFT!
The least they could've one was to cast a couple nice colored boys in this to make it look like the police were really doing their jobs
those sirens didn't come out till the late 60s
There was some decent, no bullshit driving there!
drums add mood
Mute this and play High Speed Chase by Miles Davis along with the video.
When they were stopped, they surrendered. Not run off at random angles. Foolishness had consequences. It was better to hire a mouthpiece and make your case in court than pile up charges on the street.
Even in 1964 wouldn't a cop car be a Biscayne 4 door, not a Bel Air 2 door? Looks like a commercial for vintage Chevrolet! Also notice that the cops have built in tachometers a la Super Sport...
I also acknowledged this.
2-door units were not uncommon then.
The two guys in the video were cops.
Dude ! I drive this section of I-70 everyday awesome to see this in a film from so long ago !
I'm trying to figure out where this is
2 door squad cars?!
Are they in KS?
No, there're not in Kansas any more. lol
Didnt know Channing Tatum was alive in the 60s!
Kansas Highway Patrol classic 10 - 32. (Pursuit)
Now, see - if they was drivin a Ford...
From a complete contraband search of a woman with three children in tow to a highly impressive high speed chase most likely a 409 bow-tie motor because the police don't care about how much it cost the tax payers in fuel cost... Hats off for the police dept of the 1960... Waaaaay to goooooo...
+wgoldenny hi octane gas in the 60s was less than 70 cents a gallon...
+Ed boisvert yeah - like not even 40 cents for "ethyl"
+Ed boisvert Yeh , more like 30 cents a gallon.
At the Mobil station I worked at in '64, gas was 24.9 for regular and 29.9 for hi-test.
All compared to today's standards sure that's cheep what about than?
Suspects are clean cut dudes with shirts tucked in LOL
It was 1964.
I wish I owned a 64 Impala
Funny that there was only one subject in the car right before the car was stopped .
Broderick Crawford would be proud.

Ah! All these cars!
And everybody in this clip got to see the USA in their Chevrolet ... The End.
It doesn’t have a vintage police siren
It had something to do with the Bassett Hound, I'm sure of it.
Soundtrack theme
Those cars have highspeed roadhandling of a sack of potatoes going downhill on a skateboard......
This Movie Early 1970's Okay no color but some sound its little bit and no sounds.
All Chevrolet's!
C Howard the station wagon was a plymouth
Dat French Colonel
lol! You are correct sir!
More like all American classics, I'm sick of this Chevy vs Dodge vs Ford ect.. and also in n out vs whataburger vs fiveguys I mean like what the hell!??
How is the officer being filmed? The angle which you see the officer driving and it appears the camera would be mounted on the hood of the car. How is that angle exactly being filmed?, cameras were much bigger and bulkier back then?
No a days, you’ll see most people mounting Go-Pros on the dashboard or the hood of the car. However, how was it executed back then?
Probably a car body on a trailer being towed or something similar, how they filmed shows like Adam 12 for those sorts of shots
1964
