Fuzz Club Session: Holy Wave - Western Playland

- Next up in the Fuzz Club Session series is Texas' Holy Wave! Following the release of their 2016 LP ‘Freaks Of Nurture,’ we invited the band to London to lay down a session. The Texas five-piece are clearly steeped in a 60s Nuggets-era nostalgia but still manage to make it their own - with daydreaming pop melodies and expansive songwriting their washed out, reverberating garage-pop sounds better than ever. The warm analogue recording creating a blissed-out echo chamber of sun-soaked psychedelic ecstasy - recorded live, straight to 2” tape and committed to wax.
Limited to 500 copies. 100 on white vinyl exclusive to the Fuzz Club store. 400 on black vinyl. All on 180g vinyl and with printed inner sleeves. Order from fuzzclub.com - Hudba
Best bass guitar solo in existence. World destroyer.
It's criminal that these guys aren't huge.
i know, this song needs like.. at least 900,000 likes
Other than, maybe, monetarily(?)....being huge is not important.....these guys are just right.....or maybe left (of center). LOVE THEM.
3:50 brings tears to my eyes. I feel it in my core. Fuck. So good.
Probably one of the best songs I've heard in the last decade.. Thanks to Pandora and my " atlas sound " station for brining this track in my life.
The transition at the 3:50 mark has all types of memories from my childhood up until now flash through my head , from the good and bad , to the happy and sad..
Hypnotic and beautiful.
This song helped me through a lot during my college days. Also, this is a good song to be stoned with
I can almost cry, I literally was woken up out of my sleep to there song and came straight to CZcams to have a listen. They have a new forever fan
Can't believe there were only 32,000 odd views on this - spread the word folks! The guitar outro from 3:50 (and probably a bit earlier) is so uplifting.
that hook is so damn good
I have listened to this LP a hundred times!! Great album! Beautiful performance at Fuzz Club!
you must watch them in live
this is the best song ever!
1966 was the peak year for pure garage rock - beyond then most everything was garage-psych or psych. I like it all but my own preference is pure garage rock. As for this song - for some reason it made me think of "All I Wanna Do" by the Beach Boys. Both are excellent.
Loveee "All I Wanna Do", as well as this song, the comparison makes sense thinking about it now
I hear that as well
God i love this band
Brutal
Fuk'n dreamlike
Put the whole session up, pllllleeeeeeaaassseeee!
3:50 I feel like I'm levitating.
U know this song is just damn!!

Western Playland Lyrics
[Verse 1]
Be my lucky star
I wanna see you shining all around me tonight
Feed me with your charms
We can leave our pasts and our tomorrows behind
[Chorus]
I've been kicked out by doo, by doo-wop sisters...
[Verse 2]
Take me to your car
We can put all the valentines and vino
Take me to your heart
We can leave our loneliness and freedom behind
[Chorus]
I've been kicked out by doo, by doo-wop sisters...
Valentines or Eno*
Great stuff, comes out in 4 days!
