    Thank you Maggie for this idea!

    A better place to put the light would be on top of the car. I have a light bar and also a smaller lamp on my van, which I use for escorting oversize loads. New York State requires us to have a full light bar to escort oversize loads, and also a certification, but I don’t know if they might require a light bar for funeral use. I’m not in the funeral industry personally, but I am also a church organist, and I play for them whenever we have them at my church.

    • @LittleMissFuneral
      @LittleMissFuneral  Před 6 lety

      Rick Reed I actually do put it on top of my car, I just didn’t notice that I said it wrong until I was editing it! There are actually some towns where I live that are very strict about the color of the lights that funeral directors use, but at the end of the day, safety is our first concern and I’d rather take a chance and be in trouble with a town than not do everything in my power to be visible to outside drivers. I wonder how long we’ll have funeral processions, honestly, because we are having more and more families decide to meet directly at a church or cemetery.

    • @olliesgrammy6833
      @olliesgrammy6833 Před 6 lety

      I’m not in the funeral business but I know first hand how dangerous funeral processions can be. Even when a funeral home takes every precaution, there are those who DO NOT pay attention to a procession. Even with flashing lights on the lead cars and everyone else’s headlights on and flags attached to every car in the procession, there are still some people for whatever reason just don’t pay attention. And it’s not just funerals they need to be aware of, ambulance, police & fire engine sirens too) Years ago, I was riding in a funeral procession. (This was before cell phones). We were somewhere in the middle of the procession, as I was riding with my then fiancés family. As we approached an intersection, a woman came barreling right through and crashed into us. Being my then fiancé was a pall bearer, he was in one of the lead cars. He arrived at the cemetery, wondering where we were. Some of the other attendees had gone around us and proceeded on to the cemetery and let everyone know what happened. The six of us who were involved in the accident were all taken to the hospital. Thankfully, none of us were seriously wounded, only minor cuts and bruises. Only one of us had a head injury that required several stitches. It’s been many years since then, but I still get extremely nervous every time I have to drive in a funeral procession.

    • @carriecoleman2195
      @carriecoleman2195 Před 5 lety

      They don’t allow processions in Dallas anymore. The longest procession I’ve ever been in was from Oklahoma City to a town outside of Stillwater. It took about an hour and 4 or 5 police escorts. It was wild.

      Uhhh as an Episcopalian (technically considered English Catholic but to Roman Catholicism we’re in that gray area between catholic and Protestant) we absolutely have funerary prayers. Not only that, but The Book of Common Prayer we use has prayers for just about everything, including Eucharist (Communion) for the dying and family that is in attendance and encourages songs of solemn levity. We also partner up with Methodist, Lutheran (if you knew the politics of that you’d be amazed at how far we’ve come!) and nondenominational leaders and believers in funerary proceedings.
      Source: I was called to/ordained a Lay Deacon by permission of the Bishop of the Episcopal diocese I was in so that I could perform Christian “Protestant” final communion and essentially what were last rites for my father on his death bed.

The base is Christ, meaning a follower/disciple of Christ. Catholics are followers of Christ, therefore Christian. No matter whatever else is in the history of the religion.

    Do you feel that police and sheriff's should respond to your "I am funeral director" sticker or the hazard lights, do not give you tickets for illegal parking? When I took my drivers test it was only a must give police, fire and ambulance the right of way. I am sorry but having lived in Orange County for 34 yrs. and am handicapped. I don't think it's legal or polite for you to use to use stickers that are not legal, I don't know about your light. When someone like me has great difficulty walking for even a little bit and you are using it to run the stores . We really deserve respect for the much appreciated handicapped signs. They can cause us to slip and fall in the winter and in the summer some people can have a heart attack from the heat. I am greatly surprised to hear that you have permission to use that sticker when you want to get in the store quickly even IF you are doing something work related. New York has a limited supply of handicaps,to see you using a parking spot and watching you run in or out of the store , I can't tell you how angry that would make. I am to understand that the sticker is for when you are in a funeral procession.

      Pat, just stuff your harping somewhere else. Little Miss Funeral is not using her dash board sign to do a little shopping. She only uses it to transfer the bodies of someone's dearly departed. She is a hard working and very ethical woman which is very clearly evident.
      You would know that if you had paid attention rather than screeching for attention.

      @@maunster3414 I was not screeching for attention as you put it, I am not that kind of person. It was very nice to communicate with you.

      These funeral directors will be the same people that handle your dead body. I would suggest that you start being a little bit more respectful.

      chris camacho With your mentality you won't make it to 50. You're rude and you make the rest of us gun owners look like hicks!

      Wtf are you even doing on this channel with such hostile views of funeral directors? What an oddly specific profession to hate on. While you might outlive her, you’re definitely going to die someday. And it might even be next year. Being young isn’t going to save you from dying - plenty of people don’t even make it to 18.

    I just heard some of your video. You don’t seem to fit the picture. I would not expect a very young person like yourself in the business but more so, your voice and presence isn’t professional for something that requires more sober- mindedness or at least a bit more respectful. Why goofy? You’re upbeat. That might be ok for some other professions but from what I see overall including that well positioned skull in the background I don’t believe you work as a professional in the funeral business.

      Michelle Bergeron hi Michelle. Yes I would say she works somewhere...This lighthearted tone of the video and inexperienced voice talking almost in young girl twang seems incongruent to the the respect and humanity/ humbleness required in such an esteemed position in the funeral business. Perhaps a little documentary would be better and with maturer people. I have watched other videos pertaining to work in the funeral business and they differ greatly to this one. I mentioned that it is way too goofy and believe that. On a person level which helps the critical thinking, I have worked in healthcare both as a nurse then doctor for 38 years and take interest in conversations around topics around this. My career has involved dealing with the dying, deceased, and their families of which I aim to be respectful and with appropriately level headedness. Until a member of the family dies does a certain degree of sensitivity is required and appreciated. If someone saw this video, they might think that it will pass it off as a video of someone doing a Saturday evening CZcams “vid” with props.

      You’re not seeing her interactions with families or her behaving in a business manner. This is just a hobby for her, she’s showing her life. God forbid she can be lighthearted outside of her profession. Not everyone has to be so serious and sober all of the time just because you are.

      She very obviously does work as a funeral director. She’s shown herself at work, at the funeral home, etc. Also, why on earth would she be pretending to be a freaking funeral director of all things? It’s not like she has a huge following or anything.
