Everytime I watch this video I just become entranced. Your conducting style is so original and maintains such a powerful connection with your ensemble. Flawless and beautiful.
i may be young but i can sing that well...i cant wait till i get out of grade school so that i can sing in a choir like that!....omg ive only 3 years left!
Omg, he's awesome. I don't even like choral stuff all that much, I like concert and orchestral music, but he makes it all worthwhile to watch and very enjoyable. My band played Lux Aurumque, and I think we are going to play October very soon as well, my favorite XD
THE PANTHER The panther is like a leopard! Except it hasn't been peppered! If you behold a panther crouch, Prepare! Prepare to say ouch! Better yet, if called by a panther, Don't anther. PIANO!
THE FIREFLY the firefly's fly's flame Is something for which science has no (pause) name! I can Think of Nothing eerier! Than flying around with an unidentified glow on a person's posterior! Posterior! Posterior!
DUDE! i freakin love your music. Its off the chain. I have your cloudburst cd and i listen to it everyday practically. by the way which cd is this? and where can i get it? Because the cloudburst cd was hard enough to find. Because barns and nobels only had one copy left.
wow. that sounds like a lot of fun to sing. what a treat to have him conduct. but who uses a baton to conduct a choir?! whatever, whitacre's still awesome.
@Ristichr First of all, they're not in a performance hall. They are recording so chill out. Second of all, in case you haven't noticed, THE GUY WHO WROTE THE PIECE IS CONDUCTING. And in case you didn't see it, he seems very pleased with their progress! Oh and lastly, CLEARLY you my friend do not understand the music. That is the joke. For it to be serious and over the top. Have you read the lyrics? If anything, I'd say these guys were not serious enough.
Absolutely! Anyone for Roger Miller?!? "You Can't Roller-Skate in a Buffalo Herd!" Or Ray Stevens? "The Streak" and "Ahab the Arab." And Victor Borge, who didn't sing, but was hilarious at the keyboard when he wanted to be.
Yeah. On Sunday the 28th? Me and like...7 others from my school got invited so...we'll be there Wednesday, bright and early, 4 in the morning, getting on the plane to New York. I don't want to wake up that early. D:
@Ristichr Heh. Read Eric's description of these pieces on his website sometime... They're SUPPOSED to be performed seriously. BECAUSE they're so funny.
@alphaguitar2, ALL MUSIC, within literature...is STILL music, though. It's how the artists personify it. For instance, I hid a song about tuning pianos in an R&B song, and people think I'm talking about INTERRACIAL SEX. It's a simple word called "juxtaposition".
I had to sing this bullcrap bass line in the cow and it sucked, I'm joining the song was hilarious and great but if you sang it, especially as a bass it was strain full on your voice at times
I love this man.
don't anther gets me every time XD
Everytime I watch this video I just become entranced. Your conducting style is so original and maintains such a powerful connection with your ensemble. Flawless and beautiful.

I enjoyed the pianist as much as the choir.
@Ristichr I think being serious while singing it makes it all the more funny in performance.
THE PANTHER
The panther is like a leopard!

Ha, I wouldn't mind him directing our choir ;))))))
I know right
The first time I heard this piece, I said out loud "Eric Whitacre is such an ass" :D
Yeah. On Sunday the 28th? Me and like...7 others from my school got invited so...we'll be there Wednesday, bright and early, 4 in the morning, getting on the plane to New York. I don't want to wake up that early. D:
2:21 dude he is the best conductor ever. haha

Is this song hard? Maybe my chamber choir could do it this year.
@Ristichr how can it be "too" anything? its whitacre himself conducting!
Shweeet.

Uhhh the words are from Ogden Nash's poetry...
Inspired by Saint-Saens' Carnival of the
Animals possibly? :D
The conductor looks like Eric Whitacre a little

His music is wonderful, but every once in a while I kinda chuckle at his lyrics... A little cheesy sometimes, I think.

..and whith anoher kindly as most regards- is it? necessarily convicticted to a belief??????????
Please say no!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's not. It's Eric Whitacre's unfortunate less famous slightly brain dead brother Timmy Whitacre. They kind of look the same.
Why must you insult some one ? It doesn't make since. Can you compose? I don't think you should be talking unless you can compose great musical works.
