  • I distinctively remember this station when residing in New York City in the '70s and '80s when they had the "M" (Metropolitan) service mark for the four incandescent lit globes outside the station... the golden token booth where the MetroCard machines are now placed. This was way back when the last of the R21 and R22 Subway Cars stopping at this station. The station also had those thin, yellow-colored turnstiles before the days of the replacement of silver turnstiles.
Back then in the '70s and '80s, the MTA/NYCT or the TA went out with style and were more colorful with their interior designs.
The only interior which has remained inside the transit system are the multicolored seats in the subway cars inside of all three Divisions IRT, BMT and IND, which are the MTA's decades old standard colors: orange, red and yellow which was also used for their over-sized '70s and '80s turnstiles.
