- Yousaf Salahuddin’s Barood Khaana Haveli, the site for Lahore’s most happening social gatherings and its illustrious guest list that includes everyone from presidents to Bollywood stars.
Sandwiched between the Badshahi Mosque on one side and Lahore’s infamous Heera Mandi on another, it’s not just the location of the haveli that brings to the fore an interesting contrast. Honorable Mian, Please invite some common men & women to these functions in your palace. GOD never differentiated poor from rich in HIS CREATIONS.I see your marvelous work from New York with admiration & respect & I observe that common man is missing in audience, only Elites get the invitations. Common man is being put down in every society. Continent's sufi Philosopher poet, Sahir Ludhianvi , put this eternal wisdom in just few stanzas(and I am nobody to add 2 cents into it)--

Angraze k dour main yahan barood khana tha iss liay ye iss jagah ka naam hai.
Angraze tu pehla hum Punjabi Muslim, Hindu, Sikh sart me rettha th. The gates of Lahore were opened by musalman fakhir gentleman and businessmen themselves for Maharaja Ranjit Singh to enter the city, once he had defeated the previous rulers. They wanted him to enter the city and made him their king in 1799. Many of his most trusted ministers came from these musalman families. We all lived together in harmony, Then begins the golden period of Punjab and it's people "souna ke pingara" until his death in 1839. The British were desperate to enter Punjab but Maharaja never allowed them, he never trusted them.
