hey, I know you're not going to see this but I just wanted to tell you that you're helping me a lot. I'm a teen and I've been struggling with anorexia for over 2 years, I always get intrusive thoughts making me want to relapse, whenever I get them I just go to your channel and watch your videos: you say things about food and nutrition that make me feel not only better but somehow healed, thank you so much for this safe space that doesn't make me feel guilty for eating :)

It is so good to see that you don't let the negative thoughts win!! You have a lot of strength for that❤️ I have struggled with ed myself, and it is really easy to let the negative thoughts control your actions. Stay strong, great that you have found a technique that works🥰☀️

Your comment on the way so many moms talk about being so small on their wedding day made me think about how the previous generations just got married younger. Yeah, most women are naturally at a smaller size at 18-22 yo, but we are just not getting married at that age range anymore. So now it’s a bunch of women in their mid to late thirties trying to go back to their high school or college weight when that’s not the body they have anymore.

Getting the diet mentality out my head is very difficult! After so many years going around in circles.

Hey Colleen ! Sorry this is unrelated to this particular video, but I wanted your thoughts on something.
While struggling with disordered eating I had some moments of overeating and it felt so awful that I am now trying my best to use mindful eating to not eat till uncomfortable-fullness. Thing is, I think now I'm just stressing out too much about whether or not I'm getting 'overly-full' and being slightly tensed while eating because I'm scared I'll accidentally overeat and end up with that awful full feeling. I think it's making me overly aware of what I feel in my stomach to the point where feeling any type of fullness makes me worry/feel uncomfortable. Any advice ?
No pressure to answer, your videos have just helped me out a lot, so I wanted to see if you had any insight on this issue I'm having !

Raise your hand if you've ever restricted calories, had an unhealthy relationship with exercise, or abused laxatives or supplements as a teenager in order to try and lose weight. *Raises hand*

I didn't try to lose weight for my wedding, and it honestly never occurred to me. I was in extremely poor health the year before and lose nearly 40 pounds. I found it a little scary and just wanted to be healthy for my wedding. I was pretty taken aback when the woman who altered my dress said I needed to stop losing weight.

The bridesmaids story reminds me of a coworker decades ago who was obese and her partner was a more average sized guy. I noticed that he was gaining weight all of a sudden. Lorraine actually admitted that she was trying to force him to gain a lot of weight so that he would become unattractive and not be able to leave her for another woman! That was totally disgusting. And then to make it worse, she got bariatric surgery and lost about 120-150 lbs.!

Hey Colleen! I know you talk about listening to your body and not being weight neutral, but what should I do if I literally need to gain weight for health purposes? How do I go about that in a healthy way?

Don't forget before there was toxic and disordered diet advice from Tiktok there was Tumblr... And various message boards. Of Herbs and Altars has good videos about this.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed in that Cody article. As a hardcore peloton girl that is in recovery, I love how body positive, weight neutral, and food neutral peloton normally is. Hearing the diet talk was disheartening! Also Ben & Jerry’s Tonight Dough is THE BEST flavor! A must try!

Colleen is a weight set point always within a normal weight. Can it be an obese weight or is it always a healthy weight. Thanks.😊

Phish Food is amazing. I LOVE Cody but I totally appreciate the reminder that even fitness instructors aren’t nutrition experts.

These teens are treating laxatives as ibuprofen and it’s so sad cause most people don’t realize the long term effects of taking laxatives. I used to take laxatives a lot and it made my physical health so much more worse and now I can’t go back.

The Britney comments- I'm actually surprised about, because it's not how I would have thought of it, in this moment. 1) it's tabloids - but mostly I think due to all her mental issues over the years- then how things have gone since she's been "freed" - I think people just like to drag Brittney through the mud more these days and will always find something. It's not right, but I think even if she was rocking a great body, ,they'd find something to slam on her.
