Andy Garcia has such a lovely, warm heart. His AFI speech for Al Pacino was equally touching. I hope that one day Andy becomes the recipient of such a speech, because he is a fantastic actor in his own right.
100% if I see AG cast in a movie I'm gonna watch it, he even made Godfather III watchable!
@@Gazzoid Andy was the best part of Godfather III. He stole the film imho. Great actor, vastly undervalued.
Here Here !!!
Absolutely
AG very underrated actor. Brilliant also in Internal Affairs & Black Rain but my favourite film of his was one that didn't get an awful lot of attention at the time of its release: - Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead. Btw, RIP Sir Sean Connery 🙏🙏🙏
You can really tell that the letter Andy Garcia read came from his heart.
"come on kid it's not Hamlet..." hahaha. For the heavy roles he usually plays, Andy Garcia has a great sense of humor.
He was sincerely choked up about the experience and the chance to salute someone he admired. Very nicely done.
Andy did a great job saluting a legend. Andy is a tremendous actor, himself. City Island, Things to do in Denver When You're Dead, Godfather III, Hoodlum, to name a few.
wow i cried when he said my greatest app garcia andy garcia
It's not often you get to publicly acknowledge someone who has inspired you and made a real difference in your life; especially acknowledge them while they're still alive and can hear it, and cherish it for still some years to come.
It is a real shame today's directors overlook a great actor like Andy Garcia.
Totally. Hollywood misses so much great talent.
The last thing I legit have seen him in was the 'Ocean's Eleven' sequels... that's been a few years now. Great actor.
So true.😡
He's a really decent guy. They hate him.
Yes, it seems he does not get as many roles as you think he should .
RIP sean Connery, what a lovely tribute from Andy Garcia
Andy was close to tears at the end...
Love you Sean Connery and Andy Garcia.
"Male actors should never cry... but always fight the tears... that way the audience will cry for him." -Michael Caine
And that is what Andy did... he got us to cry for him.
The Untouchables is one of my favorite movies. Connery was brillant as Malone.
Totally agree
@philip moore Andy was good too. He held his own for his character indeed. Sir Connery has just had more time in the biz so his length of work merits the major comment 😊
@@nicolegreene2208 one of the fee tines i saw him acting good. Giuseppe was awesome
They don't make films like this anymore
@@abdulmumin6251 thank fuck it's shit
“SHAKE AND STIR THAT BABY” incredible respect
Sean Connery - may he rest in peace.
The fact that he breaks at the end of his speech sums it all...
You noticed that too. :) What a good guy, and a fine actor.
"Male actors should never cry... but always fight the tears... that way the audience will cry for him." -Michael Caine
And that is what Andy did... he got us to cry for him.
Andy Garcia is such a fantastic actor and to see him hold his own with the likes of Sean Connery in "The Untouchables" was a sight to see. His speech at Mr. Connery's AFI tribute was truly heartfelt and genuine.
Nice tribute, Andy. Always been a fan of Andy Garcia, doesn't often get the credit he deserves. Great screen presence and has the looks. Plus of course, working with Sean in The Untouchables, he got to learn from one of the best.
Jesus, when Andy's voice cracked a bit at the end, I watered up like a kid. And Jones' laughing at 04:09 is fantastic! God bless you, Sean.
Andy Garcia was phenomenal in that movie, as were the rest of the cast; he’s a class act.
I saw "The Untouchables" in the theater as a teenager. 30+ years later it is as epic in scale and entertaining as it ever was. So many giants of cinema in the same film, truly one for the ages.
And even now, its not aged one bit.
"Come on kid, its not Hamlet" AWESOME
"What are you prepared to do?" R.I.P Sir Sean
I love that James Earl Jones reaction to the Mon, Ra mon bit xD
Watching James Earl Jones laugh is one of the great joys of life :)
yeah i noticed that also, Darth Vader giggling
i love how andy made his tribute sincerely personal...when you have these kind of things, there's a lot of platitudes about the actor; andy's speech had real warmth and character because it was an anecdote of what it was like to work with sean
4:30 "Shake and stir that, baby". The admiration and sentiment in his voice while he said those 5 words are overwhelming
Very touching and innocent...I love Andy Gacia
Garcia
I gotta tell ya...that scene in "Untouchables", where Connery is left for dead..and is found by Garcia and Costner, all-bloody before he raises up off the floor, to tell them "What, are you prepared to do!!"...GETS ME EVERYTIME!..I swear, as many times as Ive seen that flick, that scene STILL brings tears to my eyes. Im so glad he pulled away from Bond, so that he could showcase those true-blue actor's chops. The guy is an all timer.
Sean was immensely amused. Andy did a fantastic job. He was very sincere, funny but he almost made me cry.
Andy Garcia is such a great actor. I can't think of one movie he wasn't good in. Great guy!!!
Yeah, agreed, but he does a terrible impression of Sean Connery - but even that's refreshing.
If you like Andy watch his pet project City Island (2009). It turned out wonderfully.
Um... Godfather 3
He is still good in the movie imo.
@@svenzia No, he was GREAT in the film.
Still chokes me up when I watch it
I loved Mr. Connery's performance in this film. A well deserved Oscar.
Love Andy Garcia and Sean Connery. Two fantastic actors and men. RIP Sir Sean.
He also deserved an OSCAR for his role in a very under-appreciated movie called "FINDING FORRESTER".
I really liked Sean in Hitchcock's, Marnie, too.
Great performance I'm that
Too for The Name Of The Rose. ¡Sean simply the best!
Sean was also great in the WWII era movie, 'The Hill'.
I felt sad when I heard he died and then I had a dream about him checking into heaven, and the angel who checked him in smiled at him and said “Name please?”He looked up at the angel, smiled, and said, “Bond, James Bond.”
And the angel replied, na your better than him, your Sean conery.
Let me just agree with everyone!! What a speech!!! Love Andy Garcia!!
Andy Garcia is such a very gracious and great actor. His scenes with Sean Connery in the film were really good and you can tell in his speech, that he's such an admirer of his work with this screen legend.
I always thought it was more than a line from a script when Sean Connery's character in Untouchables tells Andy Garcia's character "you're a good cop". Those two had genuine chemistry in that film.
I have loved Garcia from The Untouchables role. I have loved him ever since.
Before Hollywood ran out of class.
@Peder Hansen What does that have to do with this video?
@Peder Hansen What the fuck does Trump have to do with Sean Connery and Andy Garcia? Lol
@Peder Hansen, why oh why do you have to introduce ANY politics into a night such as this, just a superfluous comment.
@Victor Bastos Too much bull shit comments. Big talk small dick.
@Peder Hansen MAGA
Andy. Formidable actor. It's always a pleasure to watch him work.
"It's not Hamlet!"
CLASSic......
what a touching tribute. such honesty
WOW, what an honor. To admire your mentor, become an successful actor and then act in a movie with him! Super awesome. Andy delivered that with love and class; totally deserving of Sir Sean Connery. Great!
SEAN CONNERY is such a great actor he inspires the ones who act with him to perfect the scenes,he was destined for greatness, his portrayal of BOND,PERFECT,ANDY GARCIA following right after him, superb
what genuine praise for a fantastic actor.
The fact that he remembered it was Racine street is such an amazing detail to such a trivial part of the movie. Andy Garcia is amazing to me.
Andy Garcia was so cool in that movie.
What a beautiful moment, could listen to this speech all day.
That brilliant smile Sean had. Miss him.
RIP, my idol...i will miss you a lot, will watch your movies over and over again....
Beautiful, left me teary eyed. RIP Sean Connery.
That was touching... thank you Andy!!!
Sean Connery and Andy are both class actors.
My favorite line from The Untouchables was when Malone asked Ness if he was going home. Ness replies "yes". Malone then tells Ness, "well then, you've just fulfilled the first rule of law enforcement: make sure that when your shift is over, ya go home alive. Here endeth the lesson."
RIP Sir Sean. Great tribute from a great actor in Andy Garcia!
I've never seen Sean Connery look so touched
That was a lovely, classy tribute. Well done, Mr. Garcia.
Just watched The Untouchables so that I could introduce it to my nephew; totally holds its own with other greats after nearly 30 years.
Brilliant movie, with a sublime cast.
It'll never go out of style.
Vietnamita
Just watched it with the family yesterday. Man does it ever hold up! They all thought ' The Untouchables ' was from like 2010. ha ha. Its timeless.
the background music in the movie is just great at helping build the intensity of the scenes.
Andy is the ONE that mad Godfather 3. He did his charictor was was flawless. This comes from a true Godfather fan, ME🤟🏻✊😎
This speech takes on a special poignancy now that Sean Connery is no longer with us. He had a long life, he did it all, he deserved his Oscar for The Untouchables...RIP, Sir Sean. It was great watching your movies and knowing you'd be great in everything you did.
I love Andy Garcia’s stories the most from these AFI awards
Mon...Ramon...I got tears on that one. beautiful.
So great - Connery is unequalled, so true. Andy was awesome!!
"my character doesnt know theres a camera in the room" haha! Andy youre the Don!!
Andy Garcia is so underrated as an actor. That was a great and sincere speech for Sir Sean. I always thought that Andy will become the next Al Pacino but for some reason he has been overlooked by many directors for too long!
Sean Connery, like Richard Burton and Richard Harris, had such beautiful strong deep voices. If i could have one wish come true it would be to have a voice like one of them. Any woman would love to have a man with a voice like that.
That was so beautiful I started to cry a little bit myself🤓
Two VERY HANDSOME gents that any Lady would love to have the pleasure of their company. = )
Andy's moment here was not only hilarious (Mon...Ra Mon -classic), but very heartfelt and emotional. Well done, and CHEERS! to Mr Connery on his award. I hope he decides to come back to acting again as he is sorely missed.
RIP, such a brilliant performance
Andy Garcia was great in Untouchables and Godfather 3
Thank you for this wonderful speech Andy.
First time I saw Andy was the Untouchables. Right away, I knew he'd be a Star. Worked with him years later. He was nothing but pure gracious and generous giving as an artist...a real Mensch!
What an amazing speech that was Andy, and I've always loved The Untouchables my favourite characters were Sean's and yours R.I.P. Sir Sean Connery we love you and will miss you
The Untouchables, truly epic movie !!!!
Andy was Badass on the Untouchables.
Such a class act!
I LOVE Andy Garcia!!! He gives the best speeches!!!!
Sean Connery was crying.
I have only special words for this man...ANDY GARCIA...i adore this man for many reasons. One of these reasons is because i think he` s the sexiest man alive, as far as im concerned. And ofcourse exellent actor, and a huge heart thats shown for all to see.. i dont know alot more that there is about him, but i only imagine that its probably awsome just like everything else he brings as an actor.
Great actor praising great actor, what's not to love?
Love 'The Untouchables' Connery nailed it, as do all the cast too
one day some young actor will do something as beautiful for Andy.
What a class act Andy Garcia is.
If you ever want to see a great movie featuring Andy Garcia, The Lost CIty, it's literally our life as a Cuban coming from Cuba to the United states in 1970 , after living in communism. He is an amazing man. My dream is too meet him, one day I will.
Man Andy is always a true class act. Dude is just awesome.
Will miss Sir Sean Connery forever - Rest in Peace . . .
wow ... had me in tears for best thank you speech. Awesome !!
That was an awesome tribute.
Just grand!!! 💗
Garcia what a humble man no hairs and graces. Just one of the guys a professional
The Untouchables was a very good movie good casting base in reality nearly, set in Chicago. A real tribute to legends and the best James Bond of all times.
Tributes don't get better than that! Nor do they get more humble!
RESPECT.. rip sir.. and Andy Garcia..
Andy is our pride and joy. #cubanpride. The Untouchables one of my favorite movies.
Wow, what a GREAT tribute!
Aww, that was so sweet.
Touching and personal ... that involuntary smile Sean Connery gives when Andy Garcia walks out at 0:08 says it all ... as does how Andy Garcia wraps up his piece
One question: where were his great pals Michael Caine & Roger Moore?
Seeing "Dr. NO" on the 'big screen' in the early 1960's was my first exposure to Sean Connery as a headliner & the preeminent 007 of all time, the Ian Fleming, who was really James Bond during WW2. Great writing, Great acting!
Andy was so lucky to show respects to both Sean Connery and Al Pacino.
I loved The Untouchables! Great film, great actors!
RIP Sean. We will miss you forever
Magic 👌
He’s like a little kid on that stage, speaking to his hero. When he breaks dating Garcia, Andy Garcia, it absolutely gets me
Garcia should have been in more movies, really liked his acting,
