    When I switched to Healthy Keto+IF/OMAD, I started to sleep max 5h, usually 4h and I felt totally fine, actually well-rested.
    Before I slept as long as 14h, with an usual length of 10h a night and never felt rested. Not even on 8h.
    First 4 years of Healthy Keto+IF/OMAD I took no naps. Now, I take a 10-20min nap 2-4 times a week.
    But: each and every time I ate more of healthy carbs, when I went over 50g healthy carbs, I slept longer that night and maybe the next.

    I got Narcolepsy bro I can get as much sleep as I want, my hypocretin are gone, which means it's rare that I'm rarely ever "awake". People think narcolepsy means you just randomly sleep. It's more like... The majority of your time is spent ready to fall into REM, whether your awake or asleep.
    I would check for Narcolepsy if you're falling asleep and going directly int REM sleep, that is a marker .

    • @fishbrainLTD
      @fishbrainLTD Před 3 lety

      Also, anything weird happen when you laugh?

    • @fishbrainLTD
      @fishbrainLTD Před 3 lety +3

      The diagnostic test for narcolepsy is simply:
      - can fall asleep in under 5 mins, in a sleep study, many times in 1 day
      Type 1 Narcolepsy means you have Cataplexy (when you laugh/strong emotion, you lose muscle tone)
      Type 2 Narcolepsy is without Cataplexy.
      The common signs for all narcolepsy is:
      - constant sleepiness
      - sleep paralysis
      - hallucinations (before/after wake)
      -sleep attacks (unable to stay awake)
      - sleep disruption
      But I would just ask yourself: is your rem sleep overactive? Do you go into REM in your 20 mins naps.
      That's a solid way to think about it. Somehow I get the feeling you have it, just from seeing you talk about your sleep but maybe I'm projecting haha
      But I tried fixing my diet too bro, my habits, all the self help bull, sometimes your brain is just different and you gotta work with it not against ha

    A man hitting a golf ball 250 yards is not the same experience as one hitting it 300. Banging a hot woman trumps banging an ugly one. Eating sushi trumps eating lettuce.

    Yo7 cannot hide from the fact that atleast 7 hours of DEEP sleep is minimum requirement for an over whelming majority every single night. No amount of "power napping" or sleeping on the weekend will make up for this. Stop fiddling with yourself americanos.

  • @bobspurloc

    if u "RESTRICT" sleep in a rat. that is not the same as a rat learning to limit its own sleep. they are 2 different things. one is extremely stressful to the subject the other is not. STRESS is the thing causing the harm not lack of sleep.

    • @tomjwjss

      Can you explain this more what is the difference?

    • @bobspurloc
      @bobspurloc Před 2 lety

      @@tomjwjss if you choose to go to sleep 5 minutes later every few nights depending on how you feel extending the 2 days to weeks or months. to an eventual comfortable stop point is that stressful? no. what if I kept u awake nightly increasing 5min every night no matter what... that is stress. the amount of sleep a person "needs" is what they have learned throughout their life. it has nothing to do with what another person needs. so a blanket statements of johnny needs 8 hours so susan needs 8 too. and if susan doesnt get the same amount of sleep that johnny does. it 100% does not mean johnny is healthier. it only means one person sleeps longer than the other. sleep deprivation is how you get a rat to not sleep which is high stress. and therefore the statement is invalid.

    Following an answer from an science expert with "yes, but [insert some anecdotal experience and some ramblings about passion and love] works best for me".
    This used the be channel I would go to run away from random baseless opinions. Sigh.

      Would you prefer Lex have conversations with our soon-to-be AI overlord and get matter-of-fact, logical, emotionless responses? Ask a human, get a human answer (opinion always included).

      Maybe let the person that actually studies the subject have the final word?
      If he already has his mind made up, why even bother asking?
      It's quite disrespectful to the guest IMO.
      Why bring in such respected scientists just to preach his opinion to them?

      @@EdsonMedina I feel like Lex always does a good job at trying to play the devils advocate in order to bring out more angles of information on a given subject. As if he likes asking basic questions because he knows much of his audience may have what could be deemed as a "silly question" but can't actually ask it themselves. He preaches about providing an open-minded arena for discourse and tries not to have a strictly logic-driven sense of wonder. He seems to be smart enough to know that you can't base EVERYTHING on logical reasoning in this life.
