It’s crazy seeing Yuke’s going this far with their WWE games for last gen. It’s absolutely mind blowing seeing how much more content these versions had compared to the newer versions. From the match types, match customization, and overall, less restrictive gameplay, it’s crazy that all of this wasn’t shared with the newer versions. These games could’ve been better with the assets of last gen. Such a shame this never materialized. It’s fun to think about what could’ve been.
The graphic model was good too
The modes are always missing from
The last gen versions.
Well I mean. The game is literally 2K14's code but with other stuff on top multiple years in a row and remember it was still the same price as the regular 2K Xbox One and PS4 games. In hindsight it looks cool but let's not act like they were adding a bunch of stuff every year. And Yuke's engine wasn't compatible to drag onto the next gen at the time so code and things needed to be reworked at like the last minute which is why 2K15 had less than it was going to and 16 was way better.
Content? Boy stop
When I was younger I had no idea that these were different from the at the time next gen versions, you can imagine my shock when I received 2K15 for the 360 and finding out it was practically a much different game than what I saw In trailers
Back when last gen versions were different than current gen but nowadays you can get the same games on ps4 or ps5 or Xbox one or series x
@@thestranger9608 thats not really a bad thing seeing as more people get to play the game
@@mattalan6618 i totally get it and it's a good thing tho i wish they add some content thats not online play look how long rockstar milked gta 5 before finally doing 6. Look how many times the last of us has been re relased between ps3 and ps5,
@@thestranger9608GTA 6 didnt get reveal immidiately because they made RDR2 first before revealing it and to make GTA still relevant they milked the shit out of GTA5
Same lol
I was one of those kids who were less fortunate and was lucky enough to have an Xbox 360 while all my friends had next gen consoles. I made the most of this game. CAWS and Universe mode. I remember being really in love with NXT around the time and having Johnny Gargano and Ciampa having a never ending feud in Universe which kept brining me back to the game. Loved this game.
You and I both!
I was still playing as a kid with N64, PS2 and Gamecube when the PS3 and Xbox 360 were around haha
To be honest wwe 2k17 for PS3/xbox360 was pretty fun I know it's basically they kept everything from 2k14 just they updated the roster I prefer this style over the realistic simulation style we got on the new gen ps4 and Xbox one did and so on and so forth I know some features on last gen weren't there and honestly wasn't that bum and specialty playing the multiplayer on the last gen from what I play while the servers were still up it was pretty fun you get the check out what people create and talk to people about your favorite wrestlers had a pretty good time and also I got Platinum trophy on the ps3
Tbh wwe 2k17 on xbox 360/ps3 was pretty fire, throwback to 2020 where i couldn't afford next gen consoles and i all i had was my old xbox 360 with a copy of 2k17, and it was the most fun i had during that lockdown, with the rivalry system in universe mode and match creativity, i had the best time ever till i transitioned to next gen last year 😂
Still remember the day I bought 2k17. I was so hype. Especially when I saw aj Styles and Samoa Joe and the 4 Horsewomen were in the game for the fordt time
I was one person who got last gen games on the Xbox 360 up until 2k17! Realizing what I was missing out on helped me start buying older games as well as wanting a PS4! WWE 2k15’s next gen I only played one day! I still play 2k16, and my 2k17 disc is corrupted!
I remember I got this game for Christmas back in 2016 for the Xbox 360. This game was awesome imo and I played it for many years and still do.
As I havent moved to current gen yet (hopefully this weekend) I am still playing 2K17 on the 360 every day. Have done since its release. Must play it for about 6 hours each day, making superheroes mainly. 2K23 is gonna blow my mind into space! 🤯
I have the newer games but I still play the 360 version of 2K17 sometimes
Dude that’s a lot of hours put into the game
Tell me about it. I've got it on now. Watching my Mark Ruffalo Hulk fight Batroc for the world title. 😀
One overlooked feature the PS3 version has that (in my opinion) is critical is being able to use custom soundtrack to your created characters & factions. This feature should have never left the game. With the mentioned match types (and championships that were taken out of the PS4 version), the last gen version (in my opinion) is superior to the newer gen version. I still play my PS3 2K17 to this day. 2K14 is still tops, 2K17 last gen gets the Silver Medal.🥈
Trye, but SVR 2011 thooo
It's worth noting that Ps3/360 WWE 2K17 did get all the DLC and the Hall of Fame DLC Showcase that the next-gen version did.
I just got WWE 2k15 on the ps3 and it's genuinely so much better. It's really really good.
Damn wish I still had my ps3 I'd be jumping on wwe 2k14 again and do the 30 years of wrestlemania mode
@@carlinytc7431 on 2k15 on ps3 they had defeat the streak mode except with super Cena.
You should've gotten it 9 years ago, you could've gotten all the DLC including three incredible extra Showcases.
Except there was no reason to play that version when 2K14 exists. The game was basically 2K14 with a stripped down roster.
@@ChrisMS0815 2K15's Showcases and Who Got NXT are fun to play, those aren't available on 2K14.
I love this game still playing it on my PS3 till this day
Me too bro
Ahh, I absolutely loved WWE2K15 , had a lot of fun on it and it had one of the best soundtracks
Sucks they took most of features out and literally started from scratch
@@thestranger9608agreed
same
Fun fact: I didn’t get a “next gen” system until Christmas 2017. I had assumed that all the features from that version would be on this version, so I immediately tried to jump the barricade since they added brawling in the crowd back, but I should’ve realized that it was just 2K14 with a roster update 😂
ok.
Not a "Fun Fact".
I was still playing this game earlier this year until i finally made the jump to 2K23 and honestly i kinda miss it. I had 12 and some svr games but the roster in 2K17 was just so fun. The Universe mode felt way easier to play and enjoy and that's why I had a really hard time adjusting to '23. The match customization was also a really huge disappointment for me. I was still excited for run-ins until I realized it couldn't be done in universe mode (without rivalry cutscenes). All in all I do enjoy '23 but '17 on the PS3 was just a stupidly fun time and I loved it.
2017 was six years ago now! That Is Crazy! 2k17 was released nearly seven years ago!
This is the only 2K game I owned and played until yesterday. 2K23 is so good
I didn't get my PS4 until 2015, so I had played 2K15 on PS3...it was literally just a reskin and a roster update and it sounds like 2K16 and 17 were the same. It's easy to look back now and say the last gen was "missing features", but at the time, making that transition to the next gen version felt imperative. I think NOW it doesn't matter as much when you consider the PS4/XB1 versions of 2K22 and 23 (and likely 24), really aren't all that different from the PS5/XSX versions.
My only knock is the graphics but even then I like the graphics due to familiarity and nostalgia cause my first ever wrestling game was SvR 2010 on the Wii and my last wrestling game before 2K22 on PS4 was 2K15 on the 360 so I grew up with the game looking like that. Gameplay back then was perfect to me
I bought WWE2K17 for XBOX360 and it was so different and had less features than PS4
But despite that, better gameplay.
no shit baljeet
Don’t you have to unlock
All the wrestlers for it ?
@@michaelvandoran1377if you purchased the accelerator they were all unlocked. Like in the previous 360 games. I have 2k15 16 17 on Xbox 360 and Xbox One they play very different aside from obvious graphics difference. IDK which version I prefer
@@michaelvandoran1377 yeah in normal one
But the main issue was for me atleast that the game automatically reset on its own and again I have to unlock plus there was no showcase or my career in the game
The 360/ps3 versions of 15-17 just feel like roster updates of 13 or 14.
Which they were. But with Custom Music still in, the Specialty Matches not taken away, and the ability to still Create Divas intact, there are positives to the last versions of those games.
These 7th gen versions of 2K15 to 2K17 led me play their Showcase Mode (HHH vs HBK, Cena vs. Punk, Austin's career and Hall of Fame DLC) with the 2K14's Predator Tecnology 3.0 engine. It was really fun!
Last gen always gets it the worse.
THQ did the same thing like Svr 2008-
2011.
The ps3/Xbox 360 versions was still like Smackdown vs raw
I had 2k16 on ps3 and was still fun going through the Austin story
If all you do is a roster reskin and the game is still good that’s how you know you made a masterpiece (talking about 2k14 lol)
I loved this version I can't go back and play it my ps3 stopped working I was happy to go to next gen and I was disappointed like they say u never know what you have until it's gone I enjoyed the universe mode here more then 2k23
Funny enough this was the first wwe game in almost 5 years I bought and it was the ps3 version since my Xbox 1 broke and it wasnt able to get fixed
Yea I was talking about the eras of wrestling games and it’s like for example The PS3 Era of Wrestling Games I technically count is SVR 2008 to WWE 2K14 even though 15-17 came out on those systems they really were just copy and paste versions of wwe 12 15-17 all felt different on the newer consoles
Honestly it plays a lot better than most newer wrestling videogames
These games are way better than today's wrestling games!
Not really it's literally copied and paste of wwe 12 with less features
@@nevermindgaming6848 still better than what we got today in terms of gameplay
@@likeablejhgygblinded by stupidity and nostalgia
I had version of the game, this comment is gonna be me talking about my experience/story with this game, I don't know if anyone will read this but if you are reading this then thank you, I will now start.
I never had an Xbox One, so, on Christmas 2016, me and my brother got the Xbox 360 version of this game, this was the main/most recent WWE game we had for many years, for a few years I didn't even know the versions were different, I thought it was just better graphics on Xbox One/PS4, we bought all the DLC in I think 2018 or '17.
I remember when my brother told me that some match types like inferno, special guest referee and backstage brawl were only in the PS3/360 version, that is a thing I love about this version, I also like that it has the same creation suite as WWE 2K14, also, I loved the Infinite Finisher feature in the last gen version.
because in this version, you made custom logos in the paint tool in the same instead of using an online image importer, whenever I would see clips of like 2K19 of AEW Arenas, I always thought the Logos were modded in bc they looked so good, until I saw a video of the PS4/One/PC version of 2K17 and I saw the guy putting the tribute to the troops logo in the arena and saying he downloaded it from community creations, I used to think it was a PC only feature because I didn't know that image importing was a thing in the games until I got an Xbox Series X and WWE 2K20 in 2022.
also, even tho all versions of the game have the same entrances, one of them is missing in the 360 version, one of the generic trio team entrances (Generic Trio 3) just isn't in the last gen version but is in the next gen version, also, Generic Trio 2 (Evolution's Entrance) is in all versions but has a mistake in the last gen version, the wrestler in the middle holds a water bottle (like Triple H) but in the last gen version it just isn't there, and it isn't like they did a closed hand, the hand is just holding something invisible and it's so weird, I guess they were too lazy to add a water bottle model to the game.
thank you for reading.
The Xbox 360/ PS3 version just loos like 2k14 but modded
I have wwe svr 2007 - 2k17 on Xbox 360 and I still play them.... tho my last Xbox got the red dot of death and my replacement Xbox power brick broke
I never knew 2k17 is different and better on PS3 that looks like 2k14 nice I'm going to try this on the emulator
The only modes in the PS3/Xbox 360 version are Play Now and Universe Mode.
I think wwe 2k24 will be the final wrestling game on ps4
Me & my cousins have been talking lately we have both been saying we are going to get an Xbox 360 again I want to play old WWE games on 360 to relive the experience and for him the other games he likes
👍 original host guy
I miss Superstar threads.
Same! It made making new attires so easy, they should have never got rid of it.
Same
Even though you can still do it it was easier in the ps3/Xbox 360 games
I honestly want to somehow get this game on the PS3 with all the DLC
360: SvR 2007 - WWE2K17 what a time
WWE 2k24 will be the last Xbox one and PS4 wwe game mark my words
Still have this game, not the best WWE 2k game of PS3/Xbox imo but it was still really good in some aspects. The moves/animations really improved in terms of realism, especially the high-flying moves. When you jumped in the air to perform a high-flying move, you actually got a realistic looking dive with momentum behind it, rather than just momentum that resembled a bowling ball.
The ultimate downside for me is that the finishes are not that powerful, in fact, signatures and normal moves are more powerful than finishers. You’ll have to try much more harder to kick out of a signature or normal move rather than a finisher.
The crowd also felt a bit dead when wrestling. They wouldn’t react like they would in WWE 2k14. You can hardly hear them at times.
Ring announcers would announce the weight of a person straight after they announce the championship. E.g. “Introducing the challenger (who is actually the champion) from West Newbury Massachusetts, he is the WWE champion, 250 pounds, John Cenaaaa.” It wasn’t announced the way it should have been.
Winning animations were very limited for most superstars.
Overall it is still enjoyable. Maybe it’s just me experiencing these problems.
WWE 2k24 the last game on PS4 Xbox One
Awesome! That means I still have a chance.
You dont know that dude who's your sources?? That's right you don't have any

I remember this game being a piece of crap glitchy and when playing online it was laggy as hell and the lobbies would freeze a lot because I had it on ps3 i also remember reading online people complaining tha thry don't have X feature and im like i do on ps3
2k17 for ps3 was awesome
It was.
This game wasn't just a reskin of 2k14. If it was just that it would be the best game in the series hands down. It had an amazing roster with tons of Attitude Era and golden era legends + current age superstars, great match types and customization, graphically the wrestler models looked on par with next gen because they used the next gen scans on last gen, there was a ton of new animations and moves, all directly ported from next gen. And that was all that was good about it.
Universe mode while better than 2k14's on paper, in reality it was super glitchy and never worked as intended, minor shows had zero cutscenes compared to 2k14 which always had random cutscenes on minor shows. Gameplay was much worse because of buggy AI that acted stupidly and didn't produce a fun match to play or watch, even with slider customization, compared to 2k14's amazing AI right out of the box, had some of my most amazing matches ever on 2k14 with no slider adjustments and normal difficulty, the AI just played great. They also removed the custom soundtrack feature and last but not least, the game was unplayable without the accelerator DLC because of 2 factors.
1) The game lacked a showcase mode from which you traditionally unlocked everything by just playing through it, so instead they made the game an unbelievable grind to unlock arenas and superstars. With some of them requiring you to play 200+ matches to unlock.
2) Superstar attributes are a mess by default in this game. They used the next gen attributes which don't translate well on this engine.
All they had to do was re-skin 2k14 and it would be as amazing as ever. Instead they managed to fuck it up somehow by delivering a re-skinned glitchy version of 2k14.
I own this version of WWE2K17 btw.
2K16 & 17 was just WWE 2K14 with updated rosters
Patched* version
Hey, I have this game! It's great!
My dumbass saw WWE 2k16 and WWE 2k17 and assumed that 2k17 would be better because it was newer. I will forever regret that 😢

You can't have ALL those match types, all the new ones, war games, and ALL the caw options. Not possible. And a ridiculous ask.
Yes, you can. WWE and 2K are just greedy and we deserve to not have our Specialty Matches taken from us.
@@TherealRNOwwfpooh no. You can't. UNLESS they stop doing yearly gane releases and spread it out more. Like 1 or 2 releases per console. Then you can have EVERYTHING. but it's not possible to do when they release a game every year.
@@Y2Jerms It is entirely possible. It's just that, like Yukes & THQ before them, 2K has a nasty habit of taking a few steps forward before removing something else that was in an earlier installment that shouldn't have been taken away. Point is, if they didn't remove features/match types at all & kept them all in each year, we could have every match type we want that WWE's ever had on TV.
@@TherealRNOwwfpooh do you know how much memory the game would have? Again, for a gane with EVERYTHING? It would take several years to put out. The way wwe is, there has to be some sacrifice with adding new match types AND superstars. It's common sense that they can't just add on top of what's already there. Then you'd get slow downs and drops in quality. And if 2k ever dropped in quality, people would shit bricks and start a "boycott" trend on them. And with how wwe changed constantly, there's no way to stay on top of trying to put out an ultimate/everything game.
A copy paste since 2k14
