I have had the privilege of following Ellen since she was just starting out on her career.
The only word we have for a young person who possess such natural talent is "Prodigy".
I think that's a bit inadequate to describe her.
I think something like "Revolutionary prodigy" is closer to the mark. She has inspired me to pick up the Bass again because there is no excuse I can muster not to play better!
And I,as a resident of Las Vegas, am not only anticipating getting to see her in concert one day, but very proud to call her my Home Girl!

Ellen is trying to form a band now, if you (or anyone) knows a (kid) drummer that is in U.S., California, Nevada, Arizona (especially). YOYOKA is not available at the moment. When you say it must be bred into her. Partly correct. Of course Hovak is a world class musician, but more importantly, he used to play guitar to her every night when he put her in her crib. Both YOYOKA's and ELLEN's parents have raised them by providing a musical environment and making instruments available to them. They both decide what instruments and songs, if any, they want to play and what direction they want to take their music. As you can see when both of them play, they thoroughly enjoy it! When YOYOKA first got to the U.S. after moving from Japan, the first thing she did was ask if we could go to a studio so she could play drums. She said "I haven't played in 4 days (like it had been a month or two..LOL) Both wonderful young ladies and families!

Saw this a few weeks ago, and I figured you might weigh in on this one Mr. B!😉 Ellen started playing probably a little later than Ale from The Warning, but even so, she is advancing so quickly, it's ridiculous! This is no easy bass line by any stretch of the imagination, but she's obviously been working on it for a while. Her delivery is very fluid and the timing is near perfect!!🤩👍

You're on the money with stressing her enjoyment while playing. That will be the thing that keeps her doing it. Many people who were playing at her level as kids burnout. Perhaps they were pushed too hard, or just want to move on to something else. But by the time they're moving into adulthood they're just used up and finished. I hope she can keep the joy in it.
