  • TM Krishna was the headlining artiste at the FEA-curated PARALLEL LINES concert held in Pune in association with Shuddhanaad who share our passion for classical music.
    Krishna's second piece of his recital was a kriti by Thyagaraja in Raga Ravi Chandrika. He was accompanied by Akkarai Subhalakshmi on violin, Praveen Sparsh on mridangam and BS Purushotham on kanjira. Tanpura support was provided by Bhargavi Venkatram and Gauri Deshpande.

    What a glorious presentation by the genius TMK! Apart from his mastery what appeals is how he elevates the performance of accompanists both by verbal and non verbal encouragement- in that sense he not only sings but also conducts the kutcheri! Truly a great artist🙏💐

      @Shreyas K I adore RKS, he is awesome. But, I prefer Akkarai with TMK. There is something soothing about the way Violin sound blends with his voice. Maybe it is me, but I feel her bowing way is different and mimics the vocalist better.

Mastery in generosity - giving and receiving, listening and responding, supporting and shining - a metaphor for how we should conduct all our relationships. simply beautiful. • @AnoopKashyap
      @AnoopKashyap Před 5 lety +4

      That's correct. It's called Carnatic music. A quick way to identify if it is Hindustani (Indian classical music practiced in the North & Central India) or Carnatic, just by looking at the artists on stage is to see what instruments the accompanying artists are playing. If it is violin and mridangam (horizontal drum), then it is Carnatic music. If they are accompanying with a Harmonium & Tabla (pair of drums), it will most likely be Hindustani music.

    AKKARAI Subbalakshmi reminds me of the sublime violin of Lalgudi,TNK and MSG .Her smiles and stage presence are great and her invovolvement is so spiritual.
    The Carnatic world will be hard pressed to search for an Award bigger than Sangitha Kalanidhi for her.TMK is not at his best in the ragamTalam pallavi.
