    I suggest to add à tube to the front, 0.5 or 1 meter, for external spinnaker. Like on weta's.

    Can the mast be stepped while the spinnaker is rigged, ie to pass under a bridge? I would love to try this but there is a low bridge between my normal launch point and the bay where I sail.

    How much more speed can be gained? We need more videos showing top speeds!Very interesting! :)

    On the TI kit is this controllable from the rear seat?

    I can't even afford the regular sail kit for my adventure

    What is the top speed of the tandem island with the spinnaker

      The Spinnaker sail will increase top speed but it's main advantages are being able to sail a deeper angle downwind and increased light air sailing while sailing off the wind.

    When starting the installation of the swivel cam cleat at 4:00 there is one pretapped hole, when starting installation of the second mounting screw at 4:25 it's said to use a self tapping screw but a regular machine screw is clearly picked-up and used. I'm I correct in assuming the audio instructions are exactly the proceedure and some of the video deviates from it (i.e. it's not properly mounted, and just has a short machine screw in the outboard hole that isn't really attached)?

      @Strure Před 8 lety

      I didn't notice before, both holes are shown pretapped. I've only rarely used self tapping screws before, do they make standard threads that can be later used with regular machine screws? I'm just wondering now if tapping the hole would produce better results (i.e stronger and more easily replaced in the event of swivel cam failure).

      Thanks for the elaboration.

      @@Strure In fact, I was hoping to remove mine, which was installed with self-tapping screws, and it seems to not be possible without drilling out the screw.

      So excited about this! Thanks for making it backward compatible. Wouldn't have expected anything else from you guys though.

      +Adam St. Pierre was told by local dealer that the kit was not recommended for old boats using the twist and stow rudder

      Good to know. I have a TI though so not a problem for me. I would ask hobie directly though about that anyway.

      +Adam St. Pierre I was eyeing up a new boat anyway even since the VT seat came out . I was also needing the passenger option .

      TI is the way to go. I've had 4 people on mine. Although usually 2 people and 2 dogs. They need to make those new vantage seats backwards compatible too.

    I have now made around 7 videos for the Kite. How to trim, how to sail, sailing in stronger winds. Just subscribe to my channel for video sailing guides and some very fun sails. This spinnaker can double your normal cruising speed. Use up to 15 knots, after that it gets pretty hairy - but very good fun. More guides on our web site www.seqic.com.au
