Additional tip: If you encounter a fire type grunt that has a Vulpix during the Halloween event (which will end in a few days), you will have the chance to get an encounter with a shadow costumed Vulpix.

@@loisn1709very rare, it’s a one time event costume because, halloween. And the fact that shadow Pokémon re-roll each 3 months, you gotta be lucky for these two things to be alined and get lucky and find the one grunt and hope is one of the few grunt with a specific pokemon

The grunt with the shadow snorlax was tougher than giovanni imo. Maybe its because i was expecting Giovanni to be tough and had prepared for him as best i could. Had no idea what i was getting into with the snorlax grunt.

I just saw someone in my friends list with a shadow snorlax buddy. Flex.
Advice for snorlax grunts, Run Tyranitars instead of a fighters as the fighters still take too much damage from zen headbutt or lick. Ttar resists both and and still does plenty of damage with smack down or bite

You're not missing out on anything, walked for hours today and the only new shadows I got were 2 Litwicks and both were 0*,every single rock grunt is only A.Geodude and every single ground grunt is Wooper... The pool is so diluted with a bunch of old trash and even when you luck out on one of the new shadows they will most likely have trash IV's, best bet to get something good is Litwick 1* raids...

Another tip for new trainers: you can trade purified mons as your special trade for the day. Helpful for getting that great league sableye with the charged attack return.
I just got shadow shiny bellsprout from Giovanni's decoy. And I'm happy for that :)

1:20 it depends, around a half year ago or so you could get shadow Dratini from it i got a 14/15/15 iv's one from it but maybe they removed it from the grunt because Cliff has it now and it will be back with grunts later or that grunts can still give it but not shiny yet, it is interesting to look into.

2:05 shadow granbull is also a every good fairy type raid attacker. 4:01 you didn't mention that shadow victreebell is a very good poison type raid attacker such as vineplume is also a good attacker for raids.

Saw three drilbur and only got one. Second stage ground hippo got me twice
For electric grunt still can be blitze
For the ghost grunt still can be duskull

will let everyone know for the rock grunts, its about a 90% rate to get alolan geodude as the encounter so best of luck getting cranidos or shieldon

The decoys are also giving shadow shiny Bellsprout chances if you want to equip a super radar and ignore Giovanni to go after the grunts for extra chances

For the first hours of the event, all of my regular drilburs eyes turned red even if they weren’t shadow
Currently, shadow vulpix we get after defeating fire grunt will be a costume shadow. Pretty rare, I guess.

Got a shadow Rhyorn from my first ground grunt. Immediately removed frustration and evolved it up
you need Rock Wrecker for it to be good
Btw you can also get shadow blitzle from the electric grunt.
You can also get shadow numel from the fire grunt and shadow duskull from the ghost grunt.
You forgot about shadow Duskull, which is still available. Regarding the rock ones, I fought with 40 Grunts and none of them had Cranidos or Shieldon among their 3 Pokemon. Alolan Geodude was always the first option and I only caught him. I don't know if it's a bug or I'm just unlucky.

It would help if the new shadow mon weren't like 1/20, done about 100 grunts and only got 5 new ones so far (had all the old ones but spoken to support and seems like this is a bug they're trying to fix), super annoying because it makes shiny hunting impossible

You forgot that shadow meowth, foongus and shellder are the best to catch to farm stardust. 500 from completing plus bonus from catch, specially 1k from shellder

there's a bug with cliff's shadow dratini in that it's able to attack with dragonbreath as he throws it out before the battle countdown even starts.

One thing that is missing is that cliff can also give you a shadow aerodactyl, which I was lucky enough to get a shiny of!

I got a shiny dratini on my second cliff battle but ended up being a 1 star and a low 1 star at that
I was keen to hunt the new shadows for ones with good IV's, but the pool is so diluted now with all the old useless mons still in rotation, that it's near on impossible to hunt the new ones IMO- I've done 27 Rock grunts so far & got 27 A.Geodudes for my efforts. Of the 18 ground grunts I've done- 17 were Wooper & just one Drilbur, the same goes for the fire grunt- all but 2 have been Vulpix. The only grunt I've had any sort of "success" with is the water grunt- 36 grunts for 5 Barboach.
The IVs from this round of new shadows has been pretty abysmal for me so far. I think out of all the grunts I've done, I have a single Barboach with something resembeling useful PvP IVs lol.
The bright side is I got a great IV Dratini( 13, 15, 15) from cliff, so it kind of makes up for the fact that by the time I find one of the new rock or ground types, I wont be able to remove frustration from it.
Im so glad you went over those that only cost 1k stardust to purify. im now in the lvl where i have to purify 100 pokemon for my next lvl. and to have all of them mentioned in a video like this will help me a lot.
also. not that its gonna be likely ill ever see you in person. but i keep getting shiny sableye. would you like to get one from me if there is ever that possibility?

you have to go look up ranked ives for every single mon as stat products are diffrent and there are alot of diffrent stuff like cmp ties and defence/attack treshold against counters. so not always but the general idea is low attack and high hp and def yes.

2:35 I'm pretty sure Shadow Hisuian Sneasel is gonna be amazing for the GL and UL because it can one shot so many mons, has great coverage and literally beats the whole meta in the 1-0 shields. It's very glassy, but I think it's still gonna be insane
