Gen 4 may be my favorite generation. I think they feel better than Gen 5.
Agree.
I have the gen3 and think its also great!
@@LJR_LIMITED people love the gen 3!
I am not a lefty, so I don’t like the slide release on both sides, on the gen 5s. +1 on the Gen 4s
This older man is a great shot.
And as a senior,I admire his strength cause as we age recoil has it effects.
Good job Sir.
Bought my 19 Gen 4 in 2013. Still have it, still reliable.
My favorite 19 is the gen 3.
Me too

@@Watchdog_McCoy_5.7x28why would you like the gen 5 they went back to conventionally rifled barrels lmao
@@isucc3817 you are wrong, but continue...
@@Watchdog_McCoy_5.7x28 Interestingly, with the Gen 5 guns, Glock abandoned polygonal rifling in favor of a more traditional rifling pattern in what they’re calling their “marksman” barrel.
The Glock 19 Gen.4 is so unbelivable nice and reliable.
As it stovepipes twice 😌
@@TTime685ammo wasnt hot enough to eject it properly. That round’s in particular was loaded light.
@@TTime685I’ve put 5k through mine and only have a handful of hiccups. All mostly stovepipes with crap ammo like Tula and white box
@@TTime685 bad ammo .. glocks are the best of the best
@@tonysopranooo1 Best of the best, sir! 😂
The Glock is simply iconic.
Those early days of Hickok45 videos. I remember them well. Thanks for the throwbacks!
I love these throwback videos. Awesome stuff!
The Gunfather has spoken. Sunday Shoot Around tomorrow.
🤘 😁 🤘 I love these blasts from the past! I remember when allot of them came out the first time around. First time I saw Hickle was when I was researching a Taurus Judge for my ccw. He had like a 45 minute video on it, which rocked cause I had lots of questions. I believe that was at least 11 years ago. I'm glad him and John lead (no pun intended) the Gun-Tubing movement! You guys have taught me so much!
These new clips of older videos are awesome!
In my opinion Gen 4 is the most underrated generation. Because of generation 4, Glock became more accessible to people with smaller hands, lefties, and frame improvements were made so that a weapon mounted light didn't crack the frame. We wouldn't have gen 5 without gen 4. Also, regarding the trigger difference: Like any generation of glock, the glock gen 4 trigger will be kinda stiff initially. This is normal. 500 rounds and beyond, the trigger smooths out like glass and becomes light and crisp. Just break her in. Gen 4 ftw.
I agree gen 4 19 OEM frame is infact thinner than the 23 gen 4 OEM frame it's actually crazy
Hes like a relative i wish i had. So cool to watch his videos. You are awesome as always sir:)
Hickock45 is a great shot!!!!
That old Glock works like a grandpas clock living vicariously through you brotha great shooting that trunk is toast you can quit shooting it lol thanks for the video
watched your video for years....got myself two Glock 19 gen3 , working horse.....Thanks
I had a feed issue with mine, but Glock was prompt to help. Sent it to them, got it back fairly quick and haven't had any issues since.
Same. BTF (you can see shells coming straight back at Hickok here too) and FTF but they did fix it free of charge and replaced parts I didn’t even ask for. But I sold it and got the 19.5 mos. Flawless and prefer the gen 5s for sure.
Princess Leia headset on a Glock Master Jedi!
Love the throwback videos.
The professor at work!
Did you ever do a review on the Browning 1911 A1 .22 if not it would be nice to know what you think of it.
Love it when he hits the 2 liters. ♥️
My Glock 19 Gen 4 is my favorite of the G19s I have owned. Mine has been very reliable as well. I also like my Glock 48. I am sure I would like the Glock 19 Gen 5 too if I needed one.
One of my favorite pistols. EDC 9bple and it handles it perfectly
like the blast from the past, great to see it again,,,,btw .357 sig by LawMan is the beast
Do you recommend night sights or a red dot for average shooters?
Never had an issue with my g19 gen 4.
I have a gen 5 and my wife has a gen 4. Neither gun has ever had a single malfunction of any kind with any ammo, with everything from UMC target to Buffalo Bore +p+. And my gen 5 is super accurate.
Probably have at least 5-6k through mine and only had a handful of hiccups in that entire time. All the hiccups were with Tula and white box ammo. No issues at all with federal, pmc or blazer
My favorite is a early 19c with wolff non captured guide rod andc19 lb recoil spring. Also have a 19 gen4 totally stock. Glocks are combat weapons
I carry glock 17 gen 3 with 124+p Speergolddot and 180 grain Speergolddot for my glock 22 gen 3. I used to own 19s but i prefer the 17s
He isnt older man he is youngest man in my opinions, he do very good jop every video he provided to us full information. Thank you very much Mr hickok. GOD bless you.
My fav gen
Before Sponsors and before he discovered Maglula. That is a great older video, and I am not even a Glock guy.
I really enjoy Hickock45 videos. I’m a fan, for sure. But I miss him shooting cigar boxes and bowls full of his hand loaded ammo. It made him seem more like us. Even during the mass ammo shortage of 2020, he had cases of ammo delivered to his door.
just got one today thanks Hickok
He made a smiley face on that old trunk.....😊
I have had many Glocks over the years from gen 2, 3, and 4. What I currently have is a 17 Gen 2, 19 gen 3, and 26 gen 3 which are my favorites and why I kept them.
Try a gen 5
@@wavygetshoes.442 For 9mm my two favorites are the 19 and 26 in generation 3... For .45acp its the 30sf In gen 3.
I guess we know the answer... Incredible shooting as always Hickok!
Hows it compare to the gen5?
Gen 5 of the 19 I own and love it
Hey Hikock, who picks up all the empty shell casings?
Wow what a shot! Awesome!
Proudly owning Glock 19 Gen3. EDC.
Can I get a discount on the tool box?
Everyone says they favor the Gen 3 ... but I've had a gen 4 for about 5 year now & it is OFFICIALLY A GLOCK... but i think people holds it in the back of their mind that when the Gen 4 came out with the WRONG POUNDAGE RECOIL SPRING ...HOWEVER after they put the RIGHT SPRING IN THE GUN they are as good as ANY generation that's out.... IMO
My first pistol
Active to you when you're shooting them. That doesn't spit them out as far. Sometimes sometimes just spits out just far enough to get out of the gun and that's all I got to say about that. I'm stuck on that phrase. You know y'all have a good day
I proudly own one. It’s perfect
What happened to the old Hickok site? I haven't heard or seen anything here in Germany the Bananarepublik.
Nothing happened to it. It's where it's always been.
Wow i guess you have free ammo love your videos i have learned things. Im a novice
This is the only Glock malfunction video I’ve seen that wasn’t operator induced.
The old retired gong RIP
Cheap FMJ is my goto for plinking and practice, and I haven't had a single failure out of ~2000 rounds with the GX4. I keep thinking about getting a few Glocks, but every time I have the money for that I dump it on ammo instead of a new gun. 🤣
2000 rounds is far from a reliability test
@@nfaisnfgay It is when you don't want to start replacing parts prematurely (or induce failure) from excessive wear.
@@paulis7319 if you have to replace parts sub 5k rounds it’s not a good gun
I doubt the average person puts 2k rounds on a gun before they determine its reliable.@@nfaisnfgay
my g23g4 is a great piece!
Every ones says Glock is boring .. it’s ugly , it’s just another Glock .. companies try to clone their pistols to be as reliable as a “Glock” no matter what you can’t beat it for the $$ just picked up a 45 and that is a smooth shooter
For me, Glocks are priced super high here in Illinois, found a used gen 4 for $4.30.
@@TonySoprano-on5iu here in CT depending on the shop your looking at 300-450 $
@@dunkindan4629 lucky, they want a $700 for a glock 45. Ended up buying a m&p instead
I have a 19 Gen 1. Bought it last century. It has never had a malfunction/stoppage, EVER!
According to Sootch, there were only a handful of those made and most were prototypes.
This one came from a gun store/range in Honolulu. The owner, Art Ong, is in jail for tax evasion. This gin is a "law enforcement only" gun as indicated by the LE code in the serial number.@@drm2364

seeing the boolets hit the big gong is always cool
Realy you are do your jop in hight quality thank you too much. GOD bless you from Jordan the home of holy land.
Wasn't that John's toolbox?
Don't break this one ol timer
Y'all gor more snow that us Kentucky folks😊.
My G23 Gen4 eats everything I feed it ... never any ammo issues ..
In our next video we'll be testing which is stronger, the hammer or the anvil. The search for perfection continues.
Love Glock.
All I carry in my Glock 17 gen 5 is hard ball ammo
Never had a malfunction with my 17 Gen 4
Too much fun.
I don't shoot very well left handed either...and I'm left handed. 😕
Nice 👍
For some reason, you remind me of John Wayne, AKA the Duke.😂
Love it
Schrodinger's cat was in that box ! Rest In Pieces 😿
How do you know it is dead without opening that box? 🧐🤔
I carry that gun and bet my life on its reliability
Gen 4's had the MOST reliability issues when released.
My gen 4 G30 has been flawless.
Who the heck is that young dude?
Works 😉
boy this is OLD because he is young
I wish he would adopt me.
He's at his best with a glock.

Wait a minute here! I was told by local self-proclaimed "experts" that Gen 4 Glocks are totally unreliable. What gives???
I think, like many things, a small, but noticeable number of them had issues when they were first released. Issues that were quickly remedied.
The first year they were shipping them with overpowered recoil springs and crummy ejectors....Both were probably meant for .40 cal models.
@@Tom-qp6oh I remember that now. wasn’t Gen 4 the first year of captive recoil springs on many of the compact and full size models? That could have had an impact as well.
Yep, and Glock was trying to use the same springs for the 40cal and 9mm. When people using the 9mm complained about jams, Glock claimed that it wasn't a problem because it never jams with duty ammo, only weak target loads. After lots of negative reviews Glock finally issued the new springs for the 19 and 17. New ejectors as well because of brass to the face issues. I like Glock, but they are a very arrogant company when it comes to admitting mistakes.@@Joe-hz1nw
i thought he was a sweet old man
I WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU A GRAND FOR THAT TRUNK
Glock is a nice pistol, but there are much better options out there…. Walther, Beretta, CZ and Sig.
I will say the Glock is one pistol that has a ton of aftermarket stuff that you can do to it.
Which generally cost more. I guess the cost of upgraded sights?
A Beretta APX is in the same category as Glock 17 and 19 depending on size. APX full size or Centurion; they are the same price or even cheaper than Glock and the build quality is far superior and have been proven to run 30k rounds with zero failures. Again, I am not saying Glocks are bad they are a good budget made firearm during that time period but as of 2024 you can find something most likely better. Oh and yes I do have a 43X and I do like it. 👍🏼

You have to spend nearly twice as much than a Glock to get anything as good or better in my opinion.
👌
Can't miss TV
Are you going to support the N R A again now that Wayne Lapierre is gone??
I can tell this an old video because you're not using the loader.
Stock GLOCK 19. Doesn't even have the Braver tail back-strap on it.
I guess he give up the pot smoking.
Stovepipe boy everyone hates on glocks now. Probably the ammunition. My Tula 135gr is very weak sauce.
Austria quality, what did you expect…..
I didn't and this guy didn't either. Alot of you do.
You must drink a lot of the local whiskey . snow on the ground shooting in a long sleeved shirt ? I think you film some of the best shooting videos . I would like to have a neighbor like you . all the best to you and yours .
I own one, but Gen whatever all.glock the same
I wanna say that the 19 is too small for my hands
Buy another gen 3
Gen 4 model 29 is a turd. 10mm. Been to gunsmith 5 times in first 2 yrs. Last guy seems to have it working but can never trust it for carry as was planned
I love the Gen 4 19 check my recent short . Love my FDE exclusive model
That ejection is ERRATIC!
I really like Glocks-- but some do have erratic ejection.
@@shadowwolf9503 Generally they cleaned that up with the Gen4 and 5 ejectors. That thing runs like a poorly assembled P80 with a gen 3 ejector. 🤣
didnt age well after the other Glock shearing
