fuckin insane lick before he starts the riffs
I remember seeing this video when it had just come out, and that opening lick has been burnt into my mind ever since.
I just realized how sick and catchy the verse riff is slowed down like that.

@aurasmash Haha, man. You oughta check out their entire album titled Empire of the Obscene and you'll see just how much of a musician he is. Honestly, he knows more about playing guitar ad incorporating different styles than most metal guitarists out there these days. The vocals do get repetitive, but emo? I doubt you would even know what emo was man.

One reason people hate him is because got #1 modern metal guitarist on Metal Storm, and a lot of people want their own favorite guitarist. Idk, if you look on most big Revocation videos, they have a lot of dislikes too, I don't understand why.

I don't know what the fuck was going on inside his head when he wrote this song... but I love it.
It honestly doesn't sound THAT bad tone-wise, just sounds really dry and is missing a lot of gain. Sure sounds a lot better than Nile's tone and I don't hear anyone complaining about them!

I think this band will be the next big thing in the Metal community. and I like the band a lot. But really I just have that feeling that this guy will get really famous.

Yeah exactly! Me too! Knew Sylosis before Revocation but I must say Revocation>Sylosis for me now. But both bands kick ass. Revocation just is my favourite band right now.

they're very similar but i would argue david is in another league. josh is good but david writes wayyyyyy better solos and riffs, overall a wayy better player, has objectively better vocals, and has crazy good songwriting skills.
@aurasmash mate these guys sound nothing like shiityy deathcore, theyre like an intense mix of jazz,thrash and badassness, i understand the vocals arent for everyone, but i for one think this band is insane due to its insane originality

I dunno but check out "The Crown - The Speed of Darkness" @ about 2:20 into the song, it's a death metal version of the theme song to Knight Rider
and he's growling while he plays these riffs. unreal.

@Shredder69ification Also, the studio is used to establish tone and to compose songs. That is why live shows, where people expect to hear studio stuff, have sound checks. To get as close to that studio sound as possible. Who gives a fuck about sound checks when you are doing some random and dumb playthrough of a song? You need to reconsider what you think great guitar playing is and consider the amount of preparation, trial and erro, and time it takes in getting good sound.

@nekroseftychia Oh i'm aware. I was being sarcastic to the fellow who said all classic rock bands are crack heads with no talent or something like that. I enjoy some metal, but the crap i'm describing is mostly the metalcore and hardcore scene.
I think it's funny what he considers "slow" at the end of the video,I think that's about the only part of the song I could play
Wow the band is alright (I kinda hate the squeels in some of their songs) but I really respect the musicians.
he seems pretty mellow for a guy who plays such extreme music; kinda funny. But man is he sick at guitar, can't believe he does that and the vocals, how is this band not bigger? Anyways his style is really really interesting, kinda like a Protest the Hero meets All Shall Perish at some points but it's def his own style and it's siiiick. 2:55 is hilarious "an uh here it is slow" as he proceeds to still play pretty damn fast lol.

Some of the most unique playing I've ever seen, but I really dislike those type of vocals. I actually think that a Tom Araya type scream would be more fitting.

It's still bullshit. It's only because of jealousy. I hate to be one of those bitches who blames it on jealousy but it's true. Although, I'd have to disagree with the dislike thing. On almost every Revocation song I listen to, there isn't too many dislikes. Regardless, it's only because people wish they could be the #1 modern guitarist. David is a freak of nature and he definitely deserves the recognition.
