    Hey everyone this is my first impression of the Loreal Steampod Straightner. Check on my pros & cons below
    PROS
    Left hair super shiny and soft and voluminous
    Healthier for hair
    Attachment comb is bomb!
    Only had to fill up pod 1x
    CONS
    Bulky/heavy
    Only goes up to 410 degrees
    Hair ended up getting frizzy after 2 days (though it claims at least 3 days)
    Will only give thicker hair textures a blow out look.
    Expensive $298

    I love the "yaki" straight textured look, so i love your results, but i definitely get what you mean about wanting silkier bone straight results, even as an option. A true flat iron should be able to offer both results.

    • @OriginalMaster16
      @OriginalMaster16 Před 6 lety +27

      Hi Misha, im not a pro at the whole hair type thing, but from what i have learned and what is my opinion is that "yaki straight" texture looks like straightened or relaxed "afro textured hair". In my opinion it doesnt necessarily have to be 4C hair. Neiicey's hair looks like its straightened afro textured hair in this video. Her texture straightened in this video doesnt look like it belongs on a white girls head. If i can tell that your hair straightened is "black people's hair" then its yaki textured to me. In my opinion Neiicey has a "3C light yaki texture" to her hair. But since the flat iron did not straighten her hair bone sleek straight, it looks like straightened yaki texture to me. I hope it makes sense. I know im a guy talking about this type of stuff but i do watch wig making videos too!!!

    I’ve been using the steam pod for about four years now before the steam pod my hair would puff out after using ghds as it made my hair static . However I recommend really blowing out your hair before you straighten it and making sure when you wash your hair before you get all product out, (it sounds bad but I recommend using fairy liquid) as it takes all the grease from your hair. When I wash my hair my 3c curls come back poppin and healthy. I will always love the steam pod , even my teachers ask “what straighter do u use” and “ how do u get your hair so straight it definitely worth the money.

      Thank you. No need to continue watching. I use the Ion Steam Pro Straightening Brush Iron on damp hair and it gets my hair straighter using it on 375. I purchased it at Sally Beauty with a 20% off coupon. So maybe $40. I was taught to only use heat once. Meaning either use a blow dryer with a round brush or let hair air dry and use a flat-iron. I was never a fan of the flat-iron and threw it away maybe 10 years go. So I own just owned a blow dryer with a diffuser. Now that I have the steam brush, I actually wear my hair straight sometimes (not often still because I prefer my curly hair). Pics on my Insta!

    I have this straightner for over a year and I use the creame heat protection from them as well. I have a a combination of straight, frizzy and curly hair(my hair obviously does not know what it wants to be.) I tested it out and I can pull it out till 7 days and my hair stays straight. It is bulkiet and a little heavier than a regular straightner, yet this is my first straightner ever so for ne it does not really matter. My hairdresser is suprised as well. I am one of the less of her customers with less damaged hair and that is even comparing to girls that do not use a straighter. I mostly straightnen it in the evening in the morning it looks even better. Yet we do have completly different hairtypes obviously :-)

    I had it in my head that the hair would revert or frizz up on my texture, but it looks promising! I'll have to try something like this when my hair grows out more

    I just got this steampod 🥰 and I'm really happy I found your tutorial, new subscriber from Amsterdam🌷
    P.s. I'm thinking about drying my hair with rollers first then use the steam..is that okay or should I just dry my hair naturally or with a blower??🤔

    I bought one off eBay last year for $30-looks just like the L’Oréal one except the water reservoir is built into the handle. Love the results

    I respect that your REVIEW acknowledges that more than just woman with your type of hair would need to be able to benefit from this product in order to receive your FULL endorsement.
    It does seem convenient but you're right; if it only JUST straightens your hair type; women with a more course hair type probably will not benefit from it!
    Respect Neiicey!👍🏾❤️

    Hi, I love how your hair came out. How long did it stay straight? And are you still using this straightener?

    The results are beautiful! At first I thought the flat iron was bad but I realized your hair it just really thick. It's a beautiful kinda thick tho

    Look nice question is does it leave the heat smell like with irons. It's still a little poofy but its more body wise then bone straight which i think has to do with the moisture you're putting back in which is a good thing. How long did it last in the elements before reverting back.

    I agree your hair is not bone straight and not sure if it will work on 4c hair. I think I am going to try it.

    $300 is too much for a flat iron that doesn't even get as hot as the regular one I already have. Your comment regarding the extra fluff that is left because of the lack of high temperature was great info. I have enough fluff in my hair due to its texture and thickness. Appreciate you posting this video, it helped me seal my decision to pass.

    Nice video and I love how you were honest about the steam straightener. I would not buy it due to my thick hair.

  • @Ms.Byrd68
    @Ms.Byrd68 Před 5 lety

    Appreciate your honestly. This means it will probably ONLY work on STRETCHED hair and on some 4Cs may not at all (unless you are a 4C?). It gets it 'straight' but not 'Bone straight' but much better than LOW HEAT on a regular Curling Iron. And it's probably BETTER for your hair then HEAT. One last thing though... did you get the 3 days it promised?

    Well, i'm sold. Results are bomb and I've used steam straighteners in the past. They really make a difference health wise. The comb is what really got me though. If anyone wants a cheaper option, see if conair still sells it.
