Just imagine Becki from 5 years ago learns that she will be camping in the woods in the future. Wonder what she would say. Great video 🏕
I think of this often, crazy how much has changed in the last 5 years!
You two deserve 3M subs. Seriously. Always such a delight!
No, make it 5M! 🤣
Another good cheap not freeze dried meal is Knorr pasta sides. they are a one pot thing, and take 7 minutes to cook. If i want to bulk them out with more pasta, i start that first and when its 7 minuts til done dump in the package. Ive tried the rice ones but my stovetop burner is just too hot even on the lowest setting. Another trick is to steam veggies, add more water, make the pasta and mix.
I can't say this convinced me to go camping but I do love all your videos and I truly appreciate how well thought out your plans are (even when you forget things).
6:10 my 3 year old son loved this whole segment (especially the “poop tube”) hahaha
😂😂😂
Great video! No problem getting my partner to go camping. We met eleven years ago on a winter camping trip. She was in a small tent and I was using a hammock at the time.
A great morning waking up to B&C!
7:23 Fully expected that bowl to still have water in it there lol!
As someone who keeps nudging their partner to go camping, the bathroom equipment was a real pro tip. I haaate now that I'm thinking about making my own poop shoot 😂
Loving all the things ! ❤ as always loving the content !
This is really neat guys. You didn’t leave out any areas of curiosity and are incredibly prepared and knowledgeable.
Thanks much!
Love the attention to detail 💯 very nicely shot, very well edited,
feels like this should be on TV like a show 🔥
maybe it will be too much but having like an herb garden in your camping area could be really cool for cooking outdoors and also some herbs are like basil making bugs go away bc they dont like the smell
I can feel your energy, I can really see you love this stuff, great to see you do something you love
I hope y’all know how important your content is to this community. Such a joy to watch you grow and change as individuals while exploring new things as a couple. Keep it up. 👏
Sunday mornings with Becki and Chris in the woods is the best!!
Great video!
Good stuff. Great video and on target. Love it.
For the toilet setup. You should be able to get biodegradable bags that you bury about a foot under ground
Far better to stow it out and deal with it properly. Turds and toilet paper still take years to decompose and can contaminate local water in the interim. Even burying in remote backcountry is increasingly frowned upon these days.
You guys got the exped!! I remember chatting with Becki on Twitter about it a while ago! Enjoy many comfy nights ❤️
Very interesting. Thanks
Becky is awesome! Love the tips. Been trying to get my wife tent camping since we got married. Thx for the pro tips.
Awesome advice. We’d add: shammy towels are great for water absorption and can be washed and reused. Murphy’s incense sticks are good for bug repellent. And camping cabins are a good option for the tent-averse. (Usually have to take your own sheets.)
Love these guys gah
Definitely check the forecast ahead of time. You could pack for 90 degree summer weather but it’ll be wet the whole time. You don’t want your first trip to be a miserable experience. The weather can easily make or break your camping trip. Especially the mornings and evenings.
Most importantly. Always 👏🏽 take 👏🏽 your 👏🏽 TRASH! Don’t always rely on campgrounds to have trash bins. Some places don’t always have them and if they do they’re most likely always full. Please take your trash, even the things you think are “biodegradable.”
Great way to start my day! Fantastic video
Thanks much!
I absolutely love Chris as Passenger Princess 😂😂😂 but seriously - so many good tips! Just what I needed (hopefully) to convince my partner to camp with me! I’ll have to have her watch this too lol
I'm with ya Chris, I could go 4 or 5 days without a shower no problem. That being said, I will be living out of my Bronco for 3 months this summer and will be bringing a portable, heated shower.
Camping is the best. The wife and I tented it for years and then bought a 40 year old tent trailer, which we just retired and bought a brand new 21’ trailer with plenty of room for the whole family. Lots of trips already planned. Watching this makes me want to go camping tomorrow.
Sounds like a time! Enjoy!!
Excellent
I used to sleep in the back of my Vauxhall (equivalent to Chevrolet) Cavalier which would probably have fit inside your SUV rather than sleep in a tent, whenever I went away climbing for the weekend. Mostly because I hate sleeping in a tent but also after sleep walking inside a tent in Pembroke, onto of a cliff, luckily (and obviously) I went down hill and away from the cliff edge, or I would have rolled off the top!! After that I was banned from tents and it was agreed I was probably safer inside a car!!
Omg that is terrifying! Definitely a good reason to sleep in a car!
Oh my stars! Must know where you got the mat black retractable ladder. I love your style!
P.s. I’m making the poop shoot for my van… brilliance.. absolute brilliance!
Great video I’m like Chris once I get cold I’m done.
It’s hard to come back once you get that chill for sure
Camping hacks. BTW I love those portable battery banks/generators they come in so handy, like for charging drone batteries. Is Chris getting back to FPV drones soon? Might give him a “fix” since the heli is still being worked on.
They are definitely awesome for charging FPV! He hasn’t flown them in a while but has been talking about picking it back up!
the pad thai freeze dried is so good its my favorite.
Chris likes that one too!
damn i need me one of them Anker joints for the wip ....
That was fun
This video is making me spend more money than I should on camping 🤣
😂😂 sorryyyy
Good timing. I was just about to leave the house. I guess i will wait until I watch this :-).
I learned from a previous episode there was such a thing as a bow wrench and now I own one :-).
😂😂
Becki the color grade on all your things is literally the tastiest thing to my eyeballs!
Thank youuuu
How to get your partner to camp with you? - Don't tell them that a dead tree could fall over in the wind and kill them! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love you guys! This channel could also be named Chris and Techy 😂. You are the most tech campers I have ever seen
We do love tech and love camping 😂
Its so funny to tell when this series gonna end? I bet you miss your normal bed at home. 😂
“I almost perished at the Christmas parade” 😂 I died laughing at that
Watching this makes me realize how basic I am when camping 🤣
What kind of fire burning grill o you guys use in the video?
Wondering what camping in 40c looks like. I hope the MaxTrax are worth their price and it's cool that they attach to the vehicle.
HOT!! Haha fan would be a key piece of kit for sure! They have been worth it so far even just peace of mind in mud and snow
I have never camped ever and your videos make me want to live in the woods 😭
Honestly being out in the woods is sooooo nice
@@BeckiandChris i'll definitelyyy be coming back to this video when i get to camp in the future
I could deal with everything else, I think, but I just will never be ok with bugs, insects and the like. They've always grossed me out, they always will. But it looks like a nice way to recharge, get a break from everyday life and slow down.
The bugs can definitely be difficult to deal with, something I love about late fall camping is that there are very few around!
Don’t be discouraged if your partner is just not into it. First time ever to the Grand Canyon my wife walked up to the rim, looked left, then right and said “that’s nice” and walked back to the car 🚙. She did however, loved the trip to there and camping in the desert just south of the Canyon. We got to see lightning ⚡️ over the valley for one entire night. Question: Where did you get the folding fire pit?
Omg!! Haha glad she liked the drive and camping! Fire pit is SnowPeak takibi medium!
So if you wanna keep the bugs away from you, I’ve heard if you get a Ziploc bag fill it full of water and you can hang it up. They’ll stay away because they’ll see the reflection and they’ll it will be magnified so you know they’ll get scared.
Wait really? Must try!
@@BeckiandChris yeah when I used to work at a brewery that’s what they had up in the restaurant portion of it
Some would add a sheet of crumpled aluminum foil inside to add more reflective surfaces.
George Sears was a writer on camping subjects in the Adirondacks in the 1880's and said, "we're not out here to rough it, we're here to smooth it." He would have been impressed with your gear. Look for "An Adirondack Passage" 1994 by Christine Jerome, she quotes him extensively while on a 1990 canoe trip in the Adirondacks. And...Becki-have you read To Build A Fire yet? You still have an incomplete there.
I’ll look that up for sure!! And I’m still incomplete, but it’s on my list
Which rooftop tent are you using?
GFC superlite!
Newfoundlander can't stand cold. Hmmm...
You get used to mainland temps after a while 😂
@@BeckiandChris Had to give you some trouble. :D
How to make your partner comfy while camping, but a camper lol. Jk those are pricey. We had a popup camper growing up and that was all of our vacations
The only way my city boy (Bangkok) husband would go camping is if an apocalypse occurred.
