  • There was actually a lot of sticky Oil on the aperture blades and in the aperture assembly in my old Konica Hexanon AR 50mm F1.7. But with the right tools and some patience, it's actually possible to cleaning the aperture blades and the assembly in an "easy" way.
Remember: there must not be any oil left in the aperture system, it has to "run dry".

Thanks, your video really helped me to repair and bring back to life this lens from a friend of mine. Is amazing this kind of content and also was a huge inspiration for trying to do this kind of content in my language, because I know sometimes the language barrier stopped a lot of people. Thanks, keep with this amazing content

I can see your point, and I don't know what to do about it, I have only 2 language. Danish is my native language, and then English.
I have no idea if it's possible to do some translation to another language with subtitles or so.

@@mikeno62 I will try to do the subtitles in some spare time, so more people can use your amazing tutorial. If I can’t then I will try to do something in Spanish with credits to your content. Then again thanks for your content, it’s amazing. Cheers from Mexico!

Thanks for another fascinating video. I'd love to see you do the helicoids on this one: I have the 50mm 1.8, and when you were spinning the focus ring here, I saw that yours turns much easier than mine.
    I always enjoy your videos.

thank you, as the video played i managed to get all the glass ,remove the dust and get it all back together, iv got the older shape , removing rhe center part of the mount made taking back plate of less forcefull. theres a tab on the aperture ring that gets in the way.removing the center gives more manoeuvrability.

Fantastic video! I'm wondering if instead of completely disassembling the aperture system, could I not just submerge/pour isopropyl alcohol onto the oily bits once the elements were removed? Or are there important parts that need to stay lubricated/greased?
