  • PARFUMS DE MARLY HALTANE vs INITIO OUD FOR GREATNESS!
    Two similar (ish) fragrances from two brands that are very closely related - Parfums de Marly & Initio. These are both brilliant, high performing, head turning fragrances but, there is only one winner.

    I haven’t tried Initio but I did try Haltane and I was blown away! I actually think it’s in my top five niche fragrances. Well, well worth trying!

    The big reason why I picked Haltane over ofg is that ofg gives me fatigue very quick..and I can't smell it.. while from Haltane I get whiffs all day

    I first tried Oud For Greatness as a sample from your company. I now own a bottle 😂 I completely agree that it's a difficult fragrance to wear because of its strength and definitely limits it's versatility. I find it perfect for date nights and nights out with pals. Again, I completely agree with a bottle of this lasting 5-10 years as you only need 2-3 sprays per wear tops 🙌

    Pretty sure OFG retails €295 in Europe. Not sure why it would be higher in GBP, but I don't live in UK either. I'd say the only ppl buying Haltane are the ones who think original OFG is too much for them and they need that sweeter edge to basically baby them into the profile. Edit: I think George is right on OFG's use cases too and on the conclusions in this video, as Haltane is indeed the mildly more wearable scent.

    OFG and Haltane are totally different. Maybe they have a tad similarity but only in the opening. Haltane is all about Bergamote and Praline with a little bit of Saffron. Haltane is a signatur worthy scent wich can be worn all year around except in high summer heat. OFG orherwise is a one trickpony, hard to find a situation to use it and only suitable for the Wintertime. I get always that plastic smell that gets me nauseating. OFG is not as likeable as Haltane.

    Good evening...I would love your thoughts on which LOUIS VUITTON to buy first .... i will end up buying both ..but the issue i'm having is the performance on IMAGINATION...That being said my other one is l'immensite ...your input would be appreciated. Out of both of them which one has the better performance. Would love to have your input.
    Kind regards.

      L’immensite last all day on me, as does Imagination. You can’t go wrong with either. OmbrĂ© Nomade is beast mode as far being an oud based fragrance! Ultimately, it all boils down to skin chemistry

      Both are brilliant fragrances and I personally love both and would replace both again and again. I do think overall Imagination is a more enjoyable fragrance and I do get better performance from it over L’immensite

    Oud for greatness Vs Sauvage elixir Vs BR540, which one would you choose?

    • @RogersMJP
      @RogersMJP Pƙed rokem

      Oud for Greatness has more depth than the other two. It's also the strongest but least versatile. Sauvage possibly the most versatile. BR540 may be the best unisex option.

      @RogersMJP Pƙed rokem +1

      @@megaman2016 thanks for the feedback man. Yeah I would definitely recommend a decant. I only bought the full bottle because it reminded me of my childhood. There's a top note (not sure if it's their rendition of nutmeg, saffron or Lavender) that reminds me of walking through a computer store as a child. Every time I spray it I get a hit of new televisions/laptops 😂

      Disagree. The oud is apparent, and they smell put together and expensive to me. Also they are unique and sort of mass appealing, especially Haltane is very wearable

      @gbmd2410 Pƙed 5 měsĂci +2

      @@DuSeun I don't know about "Mass appealing". I find both of them off putting. I honestly don't know why someone would want to smell like the Oud for Greatness scent - I totally don't get it. I smelled Haltane at Nieman's and instantly bought it. I was taken by the fragrance immediately. Then got home, sprayed it and hated it. Oud oud and more oud. I swear - I bought the darn bottle AFTER smelling it, then turned around and can't stand it. So... neither one works for me. I don't know what happened between being blown away by Haltane in the store and wanting to desperately throw it away at home.
