      You have dumped all those chemicals on and killed the natural predators the grubs which are nematodes, and it looks like your mycorrhizal fungus is killed off too.

      @@RonHenry Hey Ron - Question for ya!
      I have a Toro Greensmaster 1000 that I just bought yesterday. It was stored in a basement for several years. So I cleaned it up changed the fluids and greased all the fittings on it. Back lapped the blades and changed the oil and spark plugs. Then pulled the lever and... Started right up like a champ. So I moved it over to the back yard and did a test run. AND OMG the speed throttle is stuck on full speed!
      I mowed about 50ft in 2 secs before I could shut it down. Now I have to figure out why?
      It got dark so I called it a night - After giving my boys a good laugh at my expense at getting jerked around the lawn.

    I live in central Texas between Waco and Dallas and the grass at some point will take a lot of watering because it gets so Hot in the summer, I have always planted Garden and sometimes have really produced some good vegetables for the family I keep about 2 acres of grass cut But after seeing your show it made me think about keeping a good lawn I am hearing about a new kind of grass that may be easier to maintain but I don't know the name of it but I bet you may the roots are about 4 times longer they go deeper and the blades are shorter so my question is what kind of grass are they speaking of. please just send me a reply . Thank you--- you have a great show Bye

      Hi Charles. Not sure which grass you’re referring too. Bermuda is fairly tolerant of high temperatures. It would work well in central Texas. Hope this helps. Appreciate you watching.

    Ron, I live in Commerce and have a quick question for you. Audrey my lawn of many horrors a Hybrid Bermuda Sod lawn in the front has become a nightmare of epic proportion. I have applied numerous applications of Spectricide Weed Killer via the hose sprayer that it comes in along with one application of Image for Nutsedge and Poa. The Poa still remains given that it is now May 14 should I spray another application of Image or just let the weather kill it off? I still have a good bit of Poa in my front lawn.

      Hi Jimmy. Depends on how much it bothers you. It will start dying off next month as temps get warmer. If you want it gone sooner, spray it with Certainty and surfactant. That will get it under control faster. Sorry Audrey is giving you a hard time. 😎

    Hi Ron my name is Mr. T and I have been in lawn care for a couple years. My business is very small however I want to grow so I can leave the business for one of my grandkids. I am 69 years old, but I did dabble with horticulture and arboriculture in a trade school. I need some help on killing weeds, amending the soil, and putting down some grass seed. I know it is June 20th. Please sir help.

    Hi Ron, I am located in Georgia. I have a Hybrid Bermuda lawn (Sodded) 2 years old. It looks OK, but I look forward to Overseeding some areas since they are very thin looking. I know many people do not recommend to overseed a hybrid Bermuda lawn, but other than pushing it through the season, I want to get faster results. I have seen Yukon hybrid Bermuda seeds, which seem to blend very well with already-established Bermuda lawns. they are very expensive, but that is what you get if you want to use a high-quality seed. My question here is, What should I do?. Would you recommend Overseeding with Yukon hybrid Bermuda, Ryegrass, or non of those? Also, what would be your seed type and brand to use, and what would it be your recommendation in the process.

    • @RonHenry
      @RonHenry  Před rokem +1

      Hi Reinaldo. I don’t know how Yukon would match your existing lawn so can’t recommend overseeding. I’m general, whatever is causing your existing lawn to be thin isn’t going to improve with seeding.
      Is there shade or something else going on that’s causing the existing Bermuda to thin out?
