Mr. Perfect was literally the perfect late 80s early 90s WWF character. I think the gimmick would've worked in today's era too... only if Curt was his age then now.
When I was a kid in the 80's I wasn't a big Mr. Perfect fan, but once I got older I realized how good he was. Much more respect for him now that I'm older and wiser.
Curt and Chris benoit were 2 of my favorite technical wrestlers of all time. They did the best looking suplexs in the game. The problem with wcw in the 30 man nwo roster was not enough air time for everyone to eat and show their stuff.

I haven't watched any wrestling since 2008, so I haven't seen how bad it's gotten, I've heard Dutch Mantell, Cornette etc complain about nobody selling _anything_ though. From that list I'd say everyone except Razor was pretty damn terrible at selling if you want to watch something that looks like a real contest and people getting hurt. HBK's selling is his only weakpoint IMO never looked real looked like someone obviously acting, Flair doing the Ray Stevens bump 1-3 times every match and Mr Perfect spinning 720° from an open hand slap to the face. Hard to suspens disbelief with that BS... it was for me anyway.
One thing that is not discussed here is Curt's addition issues. They say he was lost in the shuffle in WCW, but Curt did not live long after WCW. Also, when I hear people say he was truly perfect. He wasn't he had his demons. He was a great wrestler, but in other ways he was far from perfect. Curt was also not a BIG guy so that limited his movement. It wasn't until Curt's wrestling injuries and his move to WCW that smaller guys like HBK and Bret Hart became champions. Had Curt stayed in WWF when HBK and Bret had their title runs he would have had one also. He was the same class as those two guys,
People are always surprised to hear stories of Vince wrestling with the guys but we forget or never realized that Vince was jacked back in the day. He was juiced up also and he was a body builder
At 12:00 when Jake said VINCE HIMSELF said "NO YOUR NOT, GUYS GET WHAT YOU WANT!!" Man I love hearing those stories of Vince when he was partying with the boys!!!
I think that if Bret was gone in '96, Vince would have made sure that Curt Hennig become a bonafide top face in the World Wrestling Federation. A feud with him against Steve Austin, would have been great at SurvivorSeries '96.

Mr Perfect is one of the ones along with Razor, Lex Luger, Ken Patera, Don Maraco who should have NEVER turned babyface, they were boring to watch when they turned, plus Perfect was funny as a heel commentator.
