I get the putting in the lines but the lines are so dim I cannot see them. I don't know it's from the colors being colorblind if that's the case but how do you make the dots more visible?

Hi, l love golf games but l'm so sad that career mode only online connection...l paid good money for tiger woods pga tour 2k23 ps4...Everything now, singleplayer no offline....mode for career....l never liked Internet gaming, its flaw and hacked and costly...l paid almost £60 for this garrbish strash, l can only play local match..And their is no save data in between....What the hell they do this, I've been a gamers long time, the developers of this game and others will kill the game Industry... l'm sad l had to take Tiger woods pga tour 2k23 back to the shop, and glady they refunded my money....Its not fair the developers punished us to paid vast some of money, only get local match no other downland contents...warning they will not like the fans against you...a disgusting customer...
I hope everybody support my actions against these cheats developers....They rip off...

Yo man, I picked this game up 2 days ago and boy what a tough ride. I never stuck to pga games but played a few here and there. Firstly, your channel is undoubtedly underrated, thank you for everything you are doing for this community.
Secondly, your vids are helping tremendously. This putting system of yours is just incredible. I literally just paused your vid to try this out and made about 9 putts in a row and came straight to comment here.
This system is a great start and now I can actually see a way forward. I struggle a lot with the swing path(driver, woods and irons), but for the time being I have found a way which works better but not perfectly. Although it's only been a couple of days so I cannot gauge anything realistically yet. I found that using my index finger works better from me as I am able to move my whole arm back and forth as opposed to just moving my thumb in a 360(it sure feels like that at times). I index the radius of the analog joystick on my knuckle and the rest is history. Ever heard of something like this? I saw your how to improve video but thought I might just comment here to save time.
Anyways, I will be following you for a long time and again, thanks for everything you do. I cannot wait to see the other videos in this series. Much love from South Africa

I have actually heard of some players using their index finger to swing. I have tried this before and I am not good at it LOL! But glad you found something that works for you!
This is the first golf game I have played since the first tiger woods years ago. Very disappointed in the physics and the gameplay. Swing tempo, ball flight and putting is completely RNG
Solid technique. Went from wide to the side to sinking puts. Use this on chips too!

I think putting is broken in this game. The ball does not follow any known universal physics and instantly affected despite ball speed. This is not real life. No one should be defending this game

Me too. I learnt the trick to pitch or chip in long putts to actively avoid putting. At least the game doesn't really award pin seeking as much as Tiger Woods 09 did

Playing on ps4 and not being a golfer myself, I didn't know holding square would show you the path for the putt. Previously my guide was getting the ball as close to the hole as possible for putting. Now that I know this, I'm spanking everyone

This is ton of great info! Thank you for it. I'm not a beginner at reading greens, but I'm still learning, and having additional systems to use in various situations is always good. And this one looks interesting, I'm going to try it out!
This putt-by-the-numbers will likely help make things go more smoothly on those "fun house" greens like Quail Hollow and Thieves Landing. It will also almost certainly help when there are only minimal breaks that make it harder to visualize, but when you believe it will still be just enough to mess up those mid-range putts.
Video presentation-wise, speaking as a viewer (and thinking as a beginner who might be arriving here frustrated with the fast greens and wants immediate help) a 30+ minute video needs more organization to help one find information quickly. This wonderful but dense 30 minutes is a firehose worth of great information for a full beginners guide and is filled with many single answers.
My--certainly unsolicited but well-meaning--opinion to make a guide like this even more useful than it already is, would be to have it broken into chapters to show specific parts of your system.
So as an example you could have:
--Green speed/grid lines general info
--Effects of down/up hills on putts
--How you choose which numbers to use based on the green speeds/color/grid lines
--Adapting to your personal tendencies during a round
--Do a few "training simulations" where you break down your system step by step and then putt (probably good to edit in made putts to show the ideal--while acknowledging no system is perfect)
--End with a few "full speed" putts showing how efficient this can be at a normal game speed--once the player practices enough with it and gets used to it.
Regardless, I love the video and the info is truly helpful. So thank you for the tons of work you've put in on this game, your other videos have helped me as well!

Actually been using a system just the same as this one since the old Rory game on Xbox. For a while I was hitting absolutely everything. Now I can’t seem to hit shit over the past couple games. Somewhere along the way what used to click for me stopped clicking 😂

Would love to see a tutorial on PC with mouse and keyboard with NO powerbar. I am struggling.
I actually never play on mouse and keyboard, I have tried once I just cannot get the swing plane or tempo down. So with mouse, the key is to take a lot of practice swings. Practice swings are key especially to get the right distance control.
I like the number per grid theory. Right away though I knew the 18 was wrong as the ball travels faster in beginning and slows down towards hole. Ball wont move left or right as much when its traveling faster. The term hitting through the break when hit too hard comes to mind, or hitting under when too slow.

Wow....RB to reset. I've been trying to remember the percentage. I have experienced a situation (PC with xbox controller) where I take my practice swing and attempt to stop in the white only to have the meter speed back to zero. Seems to happen when I pull the stick back extremely slow. That tends to make me want to make my forward stroke faster than it should be. I am transitioning to no meter so that is kinda moot. I do know that a little hesitation from backswing to downswing can cause a power meter reset, so maybe it was something like that. Yeah removing the power meter might actually help with that smooth swing that way you are not as focused on the meter.

Very handy guide. I never used this method, going to use it more. Playing 3 click, is hard with putting for me. Hard to get it to stop on the white part of the meter at times or the stupid it barely move and did the putt which only went 2”. It’s a new controller so I wouldn’t think it’s that. Almost like I put lag at times or just a glitch.

@@GamerAbility One thing I hate about the grid line colors are, I'm red / green colorblind and have a hard time telling the green and yellow apart. I just have to base it on how fast the line is moving.
I have used a variation of Gamer's system with a lot of sucess. I'm just a one year vet of the game, so I still misread a lot, but when I do miss, it's generally a tap in next putt.

Why and how are you counting pass the hole instead of from ball to hole?.. please explain
So you were likely looking at the aim marker and thinking that the grid underneath the aim marker is what I was assigning a number to. But I was using the bottom of the screen as my reference for assigning the grid numbers. So I slowly move across the green and line up the bottom of the screen with each grid, it helps you see the break more. Is that what you were referring to?
Anyway to default the cursor on the cup, it makes the putting to rest, when it judges the distance for you
So unfortunately this is not a setting in this game, it always gives you the default correct distance. On the new EA game they do have a setting to default the cursor to the cup. So hopefully 2K adds that setting in their next game
I’m at 12:18 and I’d like to say that I love your vids man, I’ve learned a lot of tips, and this video very well can have advice I didn’t know yet. But at this moment (12:12) you start to “barely move your stick left 18 times” for a measurement. But that’s from 1000 (humor me) hours of gameplay and muscle memory. Your version of barely is mainly based off of memory and feel. I don’t want to name drop. But I learned putting from @MoreRespawn and I think that’s a very precise measurement system. Now I watched the golf club 2 version. And things have changed slightly since then (when I say slightly I mean, very few instances) but it’s still spot on. Gets you within 5 feet of you’re focused no matter how far you’re back last shot, 20,30 ft. Gets you pin high for a 2 putt if dialed in on the math calculations.
Anyway. Ik that was long. And again man. Ik internet hate is real so I wanna make it clear. I’ve learned a lot from your vids, perhaps more than the other CZcamsrs and I somewhat recently came across you, so that’s saying quite a lot. But so far into this vid, I’d recommend the respawn video for a mathematical/ scientifical breakdown of putting.

Problem starts once your ball has to travel to squares to the left or right, and it leaves the path of straight squares to the hole.
Reading Breaks: You assign numbers to varying dash line grid speeds. If we stopwatch seconds to count the distance covered from one side of the grid to the other (Grid #1 = 4 sec. Grid #2 = 6 sec. Grid #3 = 4 sec and so on), what numbers would be assigned? Of course, nothing will be absolute just want to establish a baseline to work from.
What changes are made make for varying green speeds? Numbers assigned for slow green speeds would not work for faster ones right?- Thanks!
How do you change putting practice greens on PC/Steam? LB/RB for PS but what about PC?

What made you choose the number 4 when counting and not say maybe 3 or 5? Very confusing, please explain
So it is just a rough guess on how fast that grid line was moving and the slope of the green. I have been assigning numbers for so long, I just have a good eye for reading greens. There is really no cookie cutter way to say all green or yellow are the same number, but this guide was more to help you learn a system of putting which will help in the long run. So the best thing to do is just start assigning numbers for practice, and then change your numbers over time based on how much you misread by. If I would have assigned them 5-6, I would have missed the putt but I would also have that mental picture of assigning the grids wrong. That way next time I will assign the same grid line speeds lower numbers.

You kind of commented on it at around 32:00, but from my experience looking at a ton of putt previews, it seems like the game resembles real life in the sense that a break closer to the hole (where the ball is slowing down) will impact the ball’s path more than a break right off the putter face (where the ball is moving quickly). It seems like you’re just summing up numbers along the putt path regardless of where the break is in the path. Do you just assign lower numbers for break early in the putt vs later in the putt? Obviously it’s working for you, so just curious if/how you account for it.

Can you please make a guide for the new two button putting. How do I read the circle when the recommended power is not displayed?
So it is the same concept with the 2-click putting, the game gives you the recommended distance. It is shown as the white area on the power circle to the right. As you adjust the aim marker the perfect power region will change on the 2-click power meter to the right of the screen. So you hold the A/X button down and let up in the perfect power region. Definitely harder to get the right power versus the analog putting.

So you can turn off green grids in the gameplay difficulty settings.

Putt Preview. You can put it on UNLIMITED (also you can select 18). So why can't we look at our preview, adjust our putt, then put the preview back up again?

Thank you for the video - it really helped me a lot in situations where I just don’t feel I can get the right read and I’ve sunk a lot more of those putts! Interestingly some putts where I was reading well before though now I’m just slightly missing so I think I need to get both the system and the feel converging and working well together, but it’s definitely helping a lot! I have one question though. I was excited to see your method of detecting fast greens but I found in my game that doesn’t work. I expected to see at least 104 in the distance on greens to know the speed , but I saw something more like “42”. Ok I figure this is because I use metric and maybe on yours it’s showing in feet and therefore 104 would be 32 in metres. Is that why I see a different number? Do you have the list of the feet numbers for the different green speeds? If so I can do a table for myself for conversion until I’m used to it 😊. Thanks in advance and thanks for all the awesome tutorial videos, I’ve subbed and been going through all of them and it’s really helped me get past the beginner stage much quicker!
Love to hear that, happy to help! So yeah if you are using metric values, it will just show a different number. I actually do not have a list of all the different green speed numbers and such. But the game will show you the speed each time you are on the green, just have to compensate on the 2nd hole if you really misjudge the speed on hole one.
@@GamerAbility Thank you! Yes even your mention of 2 numbers - 104 and 188 helped a lot. Those are 31 and 57 respectively in metres. So now I get the idea that if I see 31-35ish it’s a slow green and 45+ is fast with 57 being crazy fast. That already helps quite a lot and I just finally won my first offline career mode championship thanks to 2 long distance putts I holed mostly thanks to what I learnt here on your video. I just wouldn’t have even started off the read in the right area had I not started by counting the left and right taps of the joystick. Thanks again Ryan. I’ve been putting using each square as multiple numbers but the breaks are what screw me over day in an day out. Any recommendations for a number per square?

Yes, so the golf balls with the low roll stats such as the friction ones, decreases the ball roll outs on the greens. You can basically turn a very fast green speed to a slow green speed.

That's huge. No wonder my putts are rolling out 15ft sometimes, they need default balls to be trash so people buy sleeves.

How do you make it show it shows the inches
So depending on the difficulty you are playing on it might not show the elevation because on the lower difficulty levels the game already compensates for the elevation. So if you turn off pro vision elevation it should show up

I putt with the distance guide on and find that if I try to change from the recommended chip on the fringe to a putt and then hit the recommended putting sweet spot the ball goes sailing past the hole. Is this a bug? The game seems to be forcing me to chip from just off the green when I would prefer to putt most times.
So the game still sets the default distance as if you are on the green. To putt from the fringe, try taking off about 2 or 3 grid lines from the distance the game gives you. Now for downhill putts from the fringe you will have to take off even more. Hope this helps!
When you're giving tutorials and talking about the buttons on the controller please show the controller while you're using the buttons so we have a visual.

I was a brilliant putter on 2k21 but this game has me beat; every putt from inside 15 feet goes way long....
Yeah it is so much easier to overpower on this years game, and balls tend to rollout more as well. You can compensate by taking off a few feet of distance before each putt expecting the overpower
@@GamerAbility Yeah I've started hitting putts the same power I'd hit for a putt thats twice the distance on 2k21 ; thats helped. If you like to drop your putts in deadweight you can forget it in this game , its for Phil Mickelson style putters only!
Just recently started playing this because of a friend. You are by far the best for tutorials but this...your whole number system confuses me. I'm bad at math and to me it just seems like your pulling these numbers out of thin air. If there is no actual numbers on screen, I just don't get it. I have to go by the numbers I can actually see and feel. I just can't wrap my head around where your getting these numbers from.
I don't know how you're moving your left analog stick that little bit of a time to get 18 clicks. I just use feel and history of previous green reads. I'm winning every tournament.

What difficulty is general online played in?

I only see FT. There is no inch number shown. Did I do something wrong in set up?
Is it showing your distance in the hud at the top right? Or is it on the aim marker? If it is in the Hud it does not always give the exact in inches. But is showing on the aim marker it should show the exact in inches first until you get to 1 foot or greater.
@@GamerAbility I guess it is due to the game difficulty setting. The inch indicator shows up when it is adjusted.
im not sure why but my green grid is way brighter and thicker then it should be. Does anyone know what setting is causing that?
That is very odd, I am not sure which graphic setting would cause that.

I'm thoroughly confused by reading the greens in this game. The speed and sloping of the greens is completely unrealistic. I cannot for the life of me find the right line and the ball just decides where it wants to go. This is not a good feature and it's ruining my enjoyment of it

Very sadly, I have to say this game is garbage compared to 2K21. No-one I've played with can hit decent shots consistently. The sounds of the clubs hitting the ball are terrible, there's not the feedback from the stick when striking the ball that there was in 2K21. Even good shots feel awful. We're all hitting them way left, right, short and long. The ball doesn't roll like it should or predictably. Chipping and bunker shots are a nightmare. Putting is a nightmare, the menus are a nightmare of confusion. The 3-click system is dreadful yet can be used to score better than with the stick method. This from someone who could land it on a dime in 2K21 playing against players who could do the same. They perfected it in 2K21 so why is this game so broken? Awful.

@@wout123100 Oh, the game isn't broken? Well, here are just a few examples. In online games I've seen drives in the fairway where the game literally picks the ball up and places it in the bunker, drives a mile into the rough that the game picks up and places on the fairway. Many games where the game decides the game is over before a player has made a game-deciding putt, been put into playoffs in games that I have won and had those decided before a game-winning putt could be made. If you play a skins game for in-game currency and deliberately smack the ball into the grandstands, the game places the ball 4 feet from the hole. It's crazy.
You can buy new clubs and equip them yet they don't appear in your bag so can't be used. The customisation menus would take a degree course to fathom.
The mute function doesn't work (one job!) so people can deliberately put you off by making stupid noises when you're about to hit and you can't do anything about it, unless you turn off sound altogether.

This game is much more like simulating real golf, it doesn't cater to people wanting -20 rounds, which is ridiculous. I see some players at tops of society lists with those scores, I Doubt game play on simulation difficulty, probably easy. Your made golfer has a lot of talent if you take time to learn and practice. This man is taking tons of his time to teach people a pretty darn cool video game. He's trying to help. This GAME IS HARD, like real golf. the challenge is fun for me, that's why I'm more addicted to this game than any other golf game in the past. You play on pro difficulty, without out the hand holding assists and lines being perfectly drawn for you, and you have a fun challenge. I didn't even make the cut 3 rounds in a row my first time playing Korn Ferry. I had to start again. It's a frustrating bitch, especially some of the greens, they madly break and are fast and treacherous on some courses. There is something that will get you, short or long game if you don't play for fun and realize practicing is necessary.
