This movie is timeless for me. I keep rewatching it... decade after decade. The old era of movies just had a unique charm to it! A somehow comforting and familiar feeling.

Totally agree. This one is definitely in my top 10. There is just something about it.
You got it! What a feeling at the time to enjoy cinema it was.
Its a classic!
the late 70s early 80s was a great era
He didnt have a mental breakdown because of his experiences in the Vietnam war. He had a mental breakdown as a result of the way he was treated at home. This is why you dont mess with people.
Amen to that! My dad was in Da Nang 1968, he was cheered when he left, spitted on when he came back. He Commited suicede when i was a kid. Not because of all the fear and gruesome he seen in Vietnam. No, because of the discusting people in our country that called him a baby killer.
@@Afghanen I'm so sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to come home to cheers and still found it difficult. I cant imaging what your father went through. I thank both you and your father for your service.
@@ericwieboldt7042 Thank You Eric. That means a lot to me. Thanks again.
You don't know much about PTSD, do you? Without his experiences in Vietnam, a person wouldn't react in this fashion to pretty much any thing that goes down in the opening act. They clearly show him snapping due to ASSOCIATIONS from Vietnam. No one beats up an entire police station cuz they want to shave him lol.
@@rustneversleeps85 light infantry reconnaissance for 12 years performing RSTA (Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisition) in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Two tours each. The last six years of my career I was a sniper and the last two years I was the sniper section leader. It's easy to run your mouth from behind your parents computer. Where did you serve again? What's your rating through the va for PTSD? I didnt think so.
First Blood and Rocky 1&2 is hands down Stallones best work. The drama is perfect.
and Rocky 3 🤘
CLIFFHANGER
For me one of the best films ever made . I watch it over and over across the years
B dennehy contribution is seriously underrated in this film.
By whom?
Who ever said that? This 'underrated' nonsense is out of hand.
@@driffter1976 apparently some people feel the need to say that someone is 'seriously underrated' but when you ask 'by whom' there is no response. So I agree with you that sometimes it's just nonsense to say that, like in this case.
Great soundtrack, incredible pace, atmosphere so real you can feel the cold on your skin, solid acting all round. This was not a Rambo movie, it was its own masterpiece.
first!
one of best film ever made
I can never turn the movie off if I see it.I see it at the movies in nineteen eighty two and i've been watching it ever since I think it's one of sylvester stallone's best movies and it's very underrated
You just don't turn it off!
@@mercatorjubio3804I see what you did there 😂
Underrated? How the hell did you come to that conclusion?????
Watched it last week with my kid....'Dont push me' is now a common phrase around the house. Job done!
The final product of First Blood is a solid piece. It has a good balance. The story is believable. At no time did I feel insulted while watching it. There's movies that are so stupid I just stop watching them. First Blood I can watch from the beginning to the end. That's something.
Without question this is Stallones best movie ever!!! Superb !!!!
This was a metaphor for policy brutality and zero experience on descalation. Rambo just wanted to get a sandwich and the cop quickly escalated the situation to where Rambo burned the town down.
The cops still do it every day in every city across the Divided States.
This film speaks to me in a profound way. Maybe 7 was too young to watch it😂
That's how old I was.
One of movies you watch like a young boy, then as a grown up man.
This is one of those movies perfectly cast and directed and a super classic
Stallone did not get enough credit for his awesome performance in Rambo; amazing. Also some very smart choices made by the directors/producers.
The musical score captures the melancholy of the character perfectly.
Thank you for making one of the greatest movies ever and one of the greatest characters in Rambo.
The old movies are the best
Great movie. The sequels were over the top fun. This one was based on terrible treatment our veterans received, powerful stuff
One of my all time favourite movies. I've read the book also and Rambo is a real bad ass in that.
It’s definitely the best Rambo movie. And, yes, his reaction is due to repeated mistreatment at home. He tries desperately to avoid conflict, but the locals will not leave him alone then all hell breaks loose…
This came out when I was active duty Army stationed at Ft. Lewis Washington. I remember seeing it on post and it was a crazy fun time for everyone in there.
First Blood and it's series Rambo are my favourite action and war movies ever.
Back in the day, the scene of heavy handed cops from a small city who didn't take kind to outsiders, was very typical in most small towns USA...
Hard to believe the book bounced around Hollywood for ten years before it was finally turned into a movie. One of the classics of the time, I remember lining up to see it on a Saturday night. With a million other people. It was so huge.
A beautifully shot and impeccably acted film and one of my favourite films I watch often. Even bought it on HDDVD when it came out!
I read the book in the 1990’s. It’s a lot more hard core than the movie.
First Blood is a classic. Timeless. I stop and watch it EVERY time I see it on TV
My favorite movie Rambo
I've always remembered Colonel Troutman saying Rambo can eat things that will make a Billy goat puke.
Best film ever. Superb
Please tell me Jerry Goldsmith received a few awards for the musical score! I almost don't think I've ever heard a better musical score for a movie.
Definitely one of his best. Great composer.
I remember being blown away by this film (never really got into the sequels). The late, great Brian Dennehy's performance is especially good. When Rambo finally gets up to him with the knife against his throat, he conveys real fear at what he has unleashed. Terrific movie which stands the test of time on repeated viewings.
Agreed. Sequels seemed tacky and cash grabs to me and my brothers. We’d always go back to First Blood. Such a great movie and a sad way to find out how the Vets were treated upon their return home.
David Morrell says Rambo kills "perhaps 250 people" in his 1972 First Blood novel.
As Andrew Vajna says here, he didn't want Rambo to be a "crazy murderer"
So they decided to reduce the kill count from around 250 down to 1
This made it much easier for us, as viewers to sympathize with Rambo.
Timeless movie.
We need a Rambo in New York City movie!
Read the Park is mine. Great book.
A classic movie that lets us know that veterans like John Rambo ,despite being heroes, are trated like dangerous animals, even when they do nothing wrong and just want to be left alone to live out their lives. The real tragedy here is ,people with PTST disorder,no matter what the cause, continue to be failed by a corrupt society that care more for drug addicts and alcoholics because they think they can cure them more than can cure PTSD.
Love First Blood and I believe it's Stallone's best work. Stallone breaking down at the end was the most powerful scene.
Rocky 1 is Sly's best. First Blood is good stuff too though. I'd give it the second slot.
Thank you very much for this precious piece you put here in access for cinema lovers.
Specially this masterpiece ✨🎯💥
In many ways these movies still motivate me
I feel really fortunate that I got to see it in the theater when it first hit, and that I got to see Sly through his whole career to now. There will ever only be 1 Sly, he is a tuff act to follow.
If They ever remake First Blood, I feel it would be interesting to make it as the Book Portrayed Rambo !!😎
Similar to Rocky, Stallone made the character not as dark as originally intended.
Jerry Goldsmith score is fantastic..you can immediately recognize it👌☺️
Absolutely love this movie
We were so excited for this movie, as we lived in Surrey BC. Hope was just up the highway from us and this was one of the first movies in a long line being filmed in BC. I remember how we all were annoyed that they always portrayed it as being some part of the US.
Classic
Every time I hear that line "John Rambo is a Vietnam vet. Green beret. He won the congressional medal of honour", I think of that scene in The Sopranos "That Valery, he's a Russian green beret. Killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. He's an interior decorator" 😂
Abd all these decades later the american industrial complex STILL hasnt learned anything...
The legend film
The writer of this movie is very good very nice story
donde están las escenas detrás cámaras? , caray
Remember reading the book .and i thought this would make a great film.and it did.
The movie softened the violence considerably. The book was way more brutal. If they ever decide to reboot this franchise, they should make this first chapter as a horror that sticks closer to the feel of the novel.
in my top 10
Yeah
Masterpiese
Interesting he missed off the D PTS..
I am Japanese.
The title when released in Japan was "Rambo". Japanese people do not understand the meaning and nuances of the English phrase "FIRST BLOOD."
What does "FIRST BLOOD" mean in America? This first edition is my favorite Rambo.
from Japan
Drawing first blood means you scored first. Which doesn't really fit with the overall theme of the movie. But it is still a cool title.
Did I see a bottle opener on his knife? What the??? 6:20
Lon wolf come in…
Stallone must make a Vietnam era prequel about Rambo.
No encuentro empleo ni de taxista.
This footage is not from 1982
Great movie except for the ending where he loses his shit. Too stereotypical of the crazed Vietnam vet going over the edge.
Click bait
Hollywood BS! In the book Rambo get killed.
Great film, no question. However, the guy playing Colonel Trautman was ridiculously miscast, and Rambo's monologue at the end was awful acting.
رمبو یگانه قهرمان بسیاری ازماست
او کماندوی بزن بهادری هست که یک ارتش تک نفره راتشکیل می دهد
It’s ruined by Rambo and his crybaby speech at the end
even the strongest of men have their weak sides and can feel quite vulnerable when life hits the hardest.
It's what you call having a breakdown, dude.
this is one of the most moving & powerful scenes of the film you absolute troglodyte
Wait till when your mother kicks u out of her basement once u turn 40... we'll see a real crybaby performance then
That does make me laugh today. But seeing it the first time it works.
What a waste of time.
Adblocker totally justified.
