It's worth remembering that the US (US State Dep) and UK embassies on March 7th warned their citizens in Moscow, not to go to large shopping malls. This is a fact. Victoria Nuland from the same US State Dep, said that Russia had a :nice surprise" coming.
I don't think there will be any major changes for civilians. Eyewitnesses say that the shooters where from Central Asia, the Caucasus region, most likely. We should keep in mind that ISIS, and other fighters, from Syria is in Ukraine and have actively taken part in the recent attacks on the RUS-UKR border. This is also a fact. There are many mercenaries from the middle east in UKR.
Russian law enforcement agencies have been arresting many islamic extremists here in Russia lately, so they had an idea something was cooking. It's also worth noting that Russian armed forces has been and are currently fighting ISIS and the likes in Syria. Many of these extremists have been granted asylum in the UK and US.

What you say about 9/11 is true but from my Dutch point of view America "always" seem to overreact after an event such as this.
Russia will not do this. Their response will be more balanced. Otherwise thewhole "war" in Ukraine would have teken a completely different path.

Well, it reminds me a lot of those terrorist attacks in early and mid 2000-2010, so Russia does have much of experience here, but every attack is sadly and terribly unique. I'm sure we have avoided many of them thanks to secret services and police (I was praying to avoid these terrible attacks this time). Moreover everyday there are many drone attacks to the nearest Russian regions from U-side and these drones are coming inside of central Russia, as well. Praying for people from Crocus😢

Half an hour ago i've read about that it could be much less severe if there were less strict weapon laws for civis. But it ain't really a problem here. It's way more deep, and on the other side - it's right on the top. Only those who have a concrete for brain would not let themselves to understand true reasons.
It's very sad and my heart goes out to those who suffer because of this horrible attack. US intelligence did predict this and the embassy was warning American citizens. I really want to come back to Russia. I want to visit Lake Baikal.

Yes this particular video is flagged for probably the topic but I still had to cover the situation and I truly felt sad about the event. It changes course of things
I've read some of the evidence reports, a lot of them said that there were nothing in the news for the first 30-40 mins after they did this, one guy already ran away from concert hall, ran for 1.5 kms towards bus station. One of my mother's friends were there, they were alive because one dead guy fell from balcony on the one of the terrorists which gave them seconds to jump to the door above without being noticed and ran away from there towards their car in 3 km away from the action (parking is a big deal in Moscow...). So basically there were no armed guards at the concert hall with 5k people( I know, we're not used to have them, but I think guards in such big places should have at least 1 pistol for a pair of guards, it might've saved a lot of people having just 1 sidearm), some evacuation doors were shut too... But I am very proud of the 15yo boys who worked at the wardrobe and saved a lot of people, God bless them.
