This slopestyle was a total let down. The athletes couldn't get enough speed and there were only 3 to 5 good runs from like the 40 total runs. Colby was (as ever) amazing tho.

No I think the track was to compact. Athletes that did big tricks, only had a very small slope to gain speed for the next jump. There should be more space so a little mistake won't kill your run entirely. I'm all for a hard track, but as audience, it wasn't really entertaining.
Hopefully big air works out alright

yeah this was bad.. course is too tight
I'm all down for new course designs but these shark fin jumps seem to ruin speed for the riders, especially when the speed is already an issue with snow conditions and weather. I think the mega booter and that old 2010 style channel gap jump should make a comeback
100%. Boby Brown-era courses were optimized very well in my humble opinion.

Guys you gotta take a page from competitive surfing and have a competition 'window' so that if the conditions aren't right you can push it back. Poor dudes are flatting hard, can't get the speed and it really sucks to watch
This! I think they plan everything for one weekend, but it's not realistic. Take more time and give the riders a normal course so they can actually do the things they do best. Such a shame.
Alex Hall is so sick, that first line he did was awesome

@@mtbmagnus9241 I knew I didn't have that quite right. I'm an inline skater and this is how we would call it. We have a ton of moves that were taken from skiing because rollerblading was something a lot of skiers would do in the off season. Not everything is the same tho lol. Switch in rollerblading means you are using your opposite foot, and fakie means you're going backwards.
Judges did Andri so dirty on run 3. Not even top three for that???
For a while I feel like the judges in Aspen prefer Americans. Just go big and you get points. Nevermind style and technicality. Also one of the major letdowns

I think we all could be as good as Alex Hall had we grown up with his type of childhood. I envy these people who grew up around the slopes. I only got to go skiing 5 or 6 times when I was a kid. I didn't get to go enough times to make a career choice out of it.
That being said, Alex Hall's and all the other competitors have amazing skills.

He called EVERY trick while it was being done.

i have been skiing for 20+ years, but i am not a park rider. Anyone know why they don't default make the course steeper? it is easy to cut speed, but as we can see from this with new snow fall a course that isn't steep can become impossible to ride?

why they use this "42 minute sesh" format? just say you get 4 runs or you get 5 runs.
also why they dont just use straight jumps? those shark fin jumps aint it.
The X Games needs to implement some form of SLVSH tournament. All of these skiers are so much better than these runs make them seem.
lame, no henrik, trash conditions, sticky rails, and andri spaghetti. i couldn’t think of a worse slopestyle comp

The feeling of winning gold has to be like one if not the greatest feeling in the world. It's different from that Linkin Park song. This one goes like. I tried so hard, and I got so far, but in the end, it did matter because I won gold.

Andri Raggetli deserved third or second at least. Can't believe that last run didn't put him on the podium.
x games and olympics are trash, slvsh is better. However shoutout to all of the amazing contestants that are pushing the boundaries of the sport every day. Sidenote -- I love how Colby cursed in the victory speech just from being too tired to remember that they don't want you doing that. Much love to the pro skiers and the freestyle skiing community as a whole.

The ridiculousness is made worse by this event being within walking distance of the Aspen airport (and two golf courses). But heyyy, Aspen isn't exactly a community that puts collective interest first so it's on brand in that respect.
@@calebtinsley4675 He didn't mention climate change, you did, he mentioned nature and the over the top Jeep advertising. And you think an event dependant on snowfall isn't relevant to a comment about climate anyway? Go whine and gatekeep somewhere else.

Honestly the worst slopestyle course I’ve seen. Just not enough speed. Bummer. Don’t let whoever designed this one to design the next.
Tom Wallish is the worst commentator. He doesn’t know what any of the tricks are called and it’s painful to listen to. You need to hire steepsteep!
