I won this time, don't worry.
Oh boy, just when I thought the game was over, it slaps THIS on your face.
How to unlock the postgame final final boss:
Challenge Alphas and lose to him on purpose.
Guide Alphas to his soulmate near one of the churches. Forgot which
Give Kit a healing grape
Guide the trope member in Noblecourt to Kit
Give Kit a Lapis Lazuli, which can be stolen from a merchant south of the weapon shop in Goldport
Finish chapter 4 for everyone
Do the quest I show on this video, which unlocks Hornburg, and go from there
The Gate of Finis in Hornburg is the culmination of every little thing that happened in the game. We find out that Lyblac was the true ringleader behind literally everything, and Kit is the son of Galdera. All of this comes together.
The first stage of this is a boss rush. After beating each boss, you get some neat lore info. You'll want to pause the game to read it.
The secret to the first stage of the Galdera fight is to spam light spells with Sorcerer!Cyrus with all sorts of buffs. The secret to the second stage is to evasion tank it with Runelord!Tressa. You have to carefully use Transfer Rune, Sidestep, and Light Rune. From there, even Warmaster! Olberic can just spam his staff spell and kill everybody.
Also, yes, I seriously won because of Scholar!Haanit. I don't even man.
If you prefer to read an article, click the link below. A massive thank you to Munnydonuts for the help in planning the strategy for this.

@@lorelo. Why exactly are you saying all of this to him, he was just giving advice for the final fight and nothing more?
I really wish this boss fight let you use all 8 characters at the same time. A big superboss that requires all 8 heroes fighting together would have been hype as hell.
You know, the crazy part is, for the mobile game that they're making, you can potentially use all 8 travelers in battle. I think the developers saw the criticism of the main game and how you can only use four so they've now decided that players can use all eight at once. I think that's great for the next entry in the series!
@@madamehoefyre1808 what is they're mobile game?
@@lilutia there will be very soon
@@madamehoefyre1808 what criticism ? in every RPG game , you can only use a limited number of your party lol . only non RPG players will complain
@@moatezmoussi9751 There was criticism over the fact that the game marketed itself as being able to use up to 8 different party members but when it came to combat, it limited itself to only 4. For a game that emphasized character path actions and their combat abilities, only limiting up to 4 of them in combat seemed restrictive. With the mobile game, you could use all 8 of them at once and swap them out in battle, and potentially have them act as offense and support. Sure you can have a limited number for your party, but I think building upon the traditional 4 party combat system in most RPG's, at least for this game, would be pretty great.
*YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO USE RUNELORD BUFFS AND FORM AN ACTUAL STRATEGY, BUT IT WAS I, SHADOWY AURA!!*
This a year old comment but this got me laughing now xD.
Based on your comment
Galdera be like: "You're next line is, "Catch me if you can", right?"
He won't do that if you don't have both sidestep and reflect up at the same time
*Ophilia's casually passed out while everyone else gains levels after defeating the boss...
shh she needs her rest
*spends 10min buffing*
all your augments have been erased.
..................................
Me: *uses Transfer rune and Sidestep* all your augments have been removed. Me: I'm gonna lose aren't I 😡
The first letter of each character lined left to right when confronting Lyblac spells Octopath
it's intentional
SmanGamerXD its the same way the boss room was set up too
Also if you start with Ophilia and go clockwise, then you can recruit people in the same way.
And what people miss is that which ever character u start out as u meet a random "traveler"/kit so that means octopath traveler was a game about 8 people going on their own journeys and meeting up together to eventually meet kit and stop the this demon lord from taking over the world.
I like that your two parties put all the naughty characters together (steal, provoke, scrutinize, allure) and all the nice characters together (purchase, challenge, inquire, guide)
Screw me for going there with only four good characters. Oh well.
『B E T I M』 Dito now i have to spend my weekend grinding T.T
Same, honestly they should of designed it where the secondary party is a backup in case your primary one dies. It just adds unnecessary grinding.
SJ H agreeed!!!!
This is why I am the kind of person who likes to use every party member equally..... so I don't possibly get screwed over like you guys.
Ken Amphy everyone at minimum needs to be level 70
> spend about 10 hours grinding up my characters to deal with Galdera
> spend even more time optimizing all of my equipment, maxing out defenses on my 2nd phase units
> still get oneshot because LOL let's set your HP to 1 them meteor storm
might as well just watch a video of it getting done.
You know that breaking him when he's gathering souls for the hp to 1 attack, you'll get full bp AND prevent the attack, right? For me, the worst part was surviving the onslaught that were the limbs' attacks. Once that was done, the rest of the fight was a cakewalk. Leghold trap was wonderful for this.
Just... why wasn't this part of the actual story instead of being a mega-ridiculous ultra hard bonus challenge? This Boss seems like an actual story objective you should've had after beating all 8 stories instead of an optional side quest that requires an iron will, top tier gear and hours of grinding.
Yeah, they really screwed this up. It's like they confused Kefka with Omega.
I feel that they wanted to make it fresh with just 8 individual stories and have a world ending baddie for the hardcore. I applaude what they pulled off because of these things.
Because it is a true staple of Square Enix RPGs to have a secret megaboss that is way harder to kill than anything the main storylime throws at you
Exactly, this is the classic old-school JRPG epic conclusion the game needed but it's locked behind ridiculous difficulty. The fact that you have to defeat 8 previous bosses and cannot save before the fight is unnecessarily tedious and punishing, even bad game design. I'm glad I saw this video because I'm not grinding for hours to have a chance to defeat it.
I loved it. It was such a unique way to use a super-boss. Everything the players went through, all the tragedies that started their stories; it was all part of an interconnected plot by Lyblac to awaken her father and only by completing everything and reaching the pinnacle of the game did the players has a chance to stop him. Superbosses are typically just there, but if you pursue the super-boss you find his existence is the reason for everything you have been fighting up to this point, and your journey's gave you the strength to defeat the evil god. And of course if you don't want to the stories are standalone enough that you wont know that if you don't.
*Lux Congerere intensifies*
When in doubt, turn on the lights
Praise the sun!! O wait... wrong game sorry
What's that? You'll have to speak up over the Lux Congerere!
Ventus saltare?Ignis ardere??Tenebrae operire???Oh no we dont do dat here
I just tried this fight and dear god there is no way I can do this. This is beyond brutal and far beyond my skills. I officially throw in the towel. I commend anyone who fells this beast. I enjoyed this game for everything it had despite my initial hesitance towards more complex rpgs. Thank you Octopath Traveler for showing me an amazing set of journeys. maybe some day I'll come back and close the final chapter.
I just beat it. It got pretty close. The boss nearly wiped me out three times.
Can't you just spam refreshing jam and full revive item and abuse the Green hp passive? I mean it's the final boss so you don't really need to keep those items.
That is true. But like I said, something like this is beyond my skill. I casually enjoy RPGs, but this is more for hardcore fans. I don't have the patience to grind up everything I need.
I'm almost about to throw the towel myself as well, though I'm inclined to give this boss a try with the video's strategy.
But yeah I agree, this game is amazing, and it's cool that it has ways to cater both to the casual and hardcore crowd. The final boss essentially being optional is a great indication of that.
I have managed to beat this boss just today and I felt so happy that I beat him! After 94 hours of playing this game and grinding post game so that I can be OP, nothing like satisfaction of beating this boss, however it's not the hardest. The Etrian Odyssey series has some really hard post game final bosses that took me a month to beat thanks to grinding and assigning skills and secondary jobs to the right party members.
Looking forward to defeating more post game final bosses in plenty of JRPGs to come! Bring it on, Japan!

I should have studied harder...
We really weren't made for such battles...
This boss battle is brilliant. There are so many moments throughout this video where if I was playing I would feel hopeless. All the clever maneuvering I did to buff my party to OP thwarted in an instant by a single move. That's what a boss should be able to do, bring you to the precipice of defeat while making your effort feel meaningless, only to let yourself rebuild and attack, whittling the boss away little by little.
"Hopefully this one will listen to reason"
"I don't think this one will listen to reason"
It feels akward that they didnt put the credits at the end of this battle...
Probably because most players would never see it, considering how hard this guy is lol
Ben S yeah, I never bothered beating it because it feels kinda unrewarding overall and having to redo the entire gauntlet after every failure is really frustrating
I thoroughly enjoyed octopath traveler, but I can't be bothered to grind just to beat this boss. Thanks for posting the ending so I could see it!
I see kind of wish they would have had voices for everyone this did not feel like a true final boss more like a hard boss it should have had the heros talking to make it more epic.
Considering there was no end credits... this more like a superboss
well... the end credits were at finishing your chosen characters chapter 8. I think Galdera is more of a hidden boss for those who explore deeper into the world of Osterra and its lore. After all, not everyone picks up all the random plot points dropped everywhere in the game and large majority would think that the chapter 8s were the end. Putting the credits at the end of chapter 8 was the right decision, otherwise people would be so confused as to why theres no end credits (not everyone searches online for things like these).
@@joshyhunty2020 chapter 8? It only goes in till chapter 4 when is there a chapter 8?

After failing this boss like 5 times then watching this video, I can confirm that I am bad at turn based RPGs and the planning that goes with them. Fuck it I should've just left Kit alone, Lyblac can't find him if he's too busy sulking in Noblecourt. Oops.
Took me six tries as well actually. And by no means am I bad at JRPGs. Had to come up with the entire strategy to beat it
Lol, I think those of is that succeeded at this game by strategy honestly got destroyed by galdera because you cant win with strategy with him. You need to have been a grinder with at least level 75+, seeing as how they always found ways to nullify our buffs.
Tldr, dont feel bad. You're not as bad as you think.
@@-kohakuma- rng is not good design though
I can't wait to see someone try to beat this under 45 minutes
Purboyo Ananda impossible if you count the boss rush before hand
Purboyo Ananda I beat the fight in around 10 minutes, wanted a faster time but RNG will be RNG. The boss rush at the start though was good, the fights never lasted more than a turn.
Haha! How about like 5 mate?!
@@vVAstrAVv it took me 30 minutes including the boss fights beforehand.
WR is 7:48 I think; requires lvl 90+ everyone. It uses 1HP Fortitude Winnehild's for the boss rush, Transfer Rune + 4 999 E.Atk. travelers for the first stage (and Elemental Break with Sorc), and a 1 HP Fortitude Winnehilds plus a 1HP Fortitude Last Stand (with Aelfric's Auspices) to beat Stage 2 in 1 turn (obviously requires Alfyn to go first for Concoct).
Using your guide, I finally did it!
Holy CRAP that was the hardest boss I've fought in forever!
It took me an hour to beat the eye because you can only have a single job per character and I couldn’t,t cheese it. Then, I obliterated the second phase with war master Haanit, Winnehild,s Battle cry, 1 HP with the skill that make you stronger the less HP you have, and a lot of luck, in less than 15 minutes. It was epic.
Imagine Dancing Mad with this art style and graphics
reminiscent of kefka battle
It's not a true JRPG if at the end you aren't fighting god.
the developers claimed that it should have been the spiritual successor of FFVI
@@operaist The game was very good but it was more like someone finally made a great SaGa game. If they wanted FF6 they fell way short.
Super cool strat you came up with for phase 2 btw, I just spammed debuffs on all body parts which somehow brought down his damage low enough for me to mostly survive. Mostly being the key word.
Literal giant eyes and monster.
“Perhaps this one will listen to reason.
Man, idk if I've ever felt adrenaline in a final boss fight like i do when the violin solo kicks in during the 2nd fight.
This remembered me the chrono trigger final boss, where you basically fight every boss and then the true final boss. And you can switch your party between battle and battle. It remembered me to it because you need all the characters at a good level (if you want to change party)
Cyrus: I dont think this one will listen to reason...
*YOU DONT SAY*
It's a nice ending to the story but....honestly, I can't be bothered to finish him 😂
Too much time required.
He's not particularly hard, but he takes ages as he has lots of HP and you need to get everyone into their 70s, not just 4 people.
However, judging by the 4 shrines, I can see why they needed 12 gods to seal him.
Dohter, Aelfric, Dreisang, and Winnehild did the heavy lifting probably
Collector Togami Probably! More likely, Winnehild just summoned all of her arms/weapons and did it herself, because Galdera wasn't allowed to act for 7 something turns 🤣
It's a nice ending _on paper,_ however the execution of it renders it lost on me, unfortunately.
It really doesn't help that, despite the amount of effort put into this endgame content, between the setpiece, complete with unique assets and a plot constructed by several subtle, converging points, and all of the characters uniting in a seemingly canonical fashion, *they don't utter a single word of dialogue to each other throughout its entirety.* Like, if you're going to go through the trouble of constructing such a setup that just begs to incorporate some fanservice which you only deny in the end, then why commit to it in the firstplace? It would've been understandable for such elements to be lacking in a standard sidequest superboss, but this clearly was something they propped up to be special and yet they chose to only go halfway with it. Just utterly baffling.
Honestly, I think people are overstating requirements for him. I just beat him on my second try with everybody in the level 63-65 range from doing on the content, I never really did any grinding sessions in my playthrough. A lot of it is proper party and skill set-up.
@@MasterSB988
Show me a video of your full playthrough and the endfight and I believe that you didn't grind and killed him on 65 ...
I don't think you know what grinding means.
Thanks for posting this! I enjoyed the game, but don’t have the time nor desire to grind levels on my second party. Cheers 🍻
I just dont have the patience to try fighting this final boss.
The ending message is nice though keeping up with the Octopath Traveler's traveling-story-journey-theme. Thanks for posting the whole thing. Super appreciate it!!!
this boss was impossibleeeee and such BS that you couldn't save before it. Grateful that I got to see the ending without having to beat it myself now :P thanks! xoxo
It's really just preparation. There are builds used solely to kill it quickly, or you can try your best to endure most of the huge damage he does.
Toke me 4 hours but was worth all characters were lvl 59 except my starting one was like 65
This part of the game isn't even worth my time anymore.
I almost gave up, it took me 7 or so tries but I finally did it
FairyBlossom & Friends ASMR It's very doable now with the "efficiency" strat. I beat the entire fight in 10 minutes. The boss rush at the start didn't even last past a turn per fight.
Now we wait for Octopath Traveler 2
Probably not LOL
Would be much more ideal to get another bravely default next anyway
Square is going to be really busy with FF7 and presumably FF16
They'd probably have 8 new travelers.
And need to fix thier storytelling, they really need to make the characters interact more and be clear about everything.
I wouldn't be surprised if they name the characters after the letters in T.R.A.V.E.L.E.R. It would be enough for eight characters anyways.
Salty Ambrosia That better happen.

Missed worlds first upload by a day, but congratulations on getting second at the very least, if CZcams's search engine is accurate enough
Yeah I'm second by like 24 hours. Even so
Well played dude, I feel like this boss was a real fucking tough test for hardened bravely/JRPG veterans:)
Managed to beat him as well, so fucking hard just insane. My party were around level 75. I didn't use the multi item divine so phase 1 was quite a lot harder for me, I had runelord + Cyrus without the double damage/double mana talent for some reason.
Just spammed the spear ability with lightning buff and by some miracle managed to nuke down the boss.
by some miracle managed to 1 shot the boss once I got to phase two by having the thief as a merchant for debuffs/to act as an engine for the Warmaster, one healer and Primrose for more BP + other buffs on Warmaster.
Just beat the first phase with my lvl 55 party. Of course, then I got one shot in the second phase, because my other party was only lvl 40, but it was fun while it lasted.
I didn't know the game would separate my party for this one singular time. My 4 other members were level 40 and under, and so with no save points and hours of grinding on the horizon, when I wiped out on the second phase, I called quits. At least in the Kefka fight in FF6 your party rotation happens if you have a dead character during phase transition. Game is still amazing though, but grinding around 30 levels on alts isn't gonna be fun for me so I'm skipping this
Indeed, I don't know what I would have done if it wasn't for the apothecary divine skill, spamming super jams was how I got thorugh it and it was really close because at 1 time everybody except ophelia was dead and she was at 1 hp, good luck for putting her the enduring merchant perk.
Yeah... The secret Final Boss feels like he is just made for the hardcore long-time JRPG veterans, which is not a bad thing in my opinion, but the boss fight is not made for the "simple players who enjoys sometimes a JRPG" (if you know what I mean).
thank you so much, also the entire time i did this fight i didnt breathe for about an hour basically. didnt realize it until i was done and i took a deep breath
Not gonna lie I feel ya. You can tell from how I took my time selecting some otherwise obvious options that I was thinking my moves out.
there were so many times i had only one party member alive and i was freaking out but managed to turn it around in one turn. the whole fight i was barely struggling to stay alive
Second person to defeat the True final boss, nice job
I'm pretty sure many people have beaten this guy but if only 2 have beaten It then I guess ima be the 3rd
So glad I kept all 8 of my party members around the same level
I hated this. This boss fight really turned me off the game. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to face off against the 8 other bosses every time I failed, as it meant that I couldn't properly experiment with what worked or get used to the strategy because I had to readjust to facing these things. It got really tedious, and that's something you shouldn't have to say about any game.
That being said it's not as bad as FF3's ending which was atrocious in how long it was. God, what a stupid way to end that game.
I agree the 8 sub-bosses were a pointless waste of time, but with a properly built Warmaster, you could kill each one in about 1-3 turns. So really they only took up about 10 minutes of real time. Still a pointless waste, but not an unbearable one.
Runelord Tressa is so broken.
So Winnehild, do you plan on hitting me or...?
Feel the Power!
@@likealaddertothesun Catch me if you can!
@TheOutkast4ever yeah spam that sidestep buff. And your squad is untouchable
Sad you can't combo it with Sealticge's seduction for guaranteed turn 1 sidestep combos
For those of you still struggling on this boss; here's the party I used to make this fight less hellish, though you will have to grind for skills.
First phase:
This is frankly a damage sponge. Moreso than any other boss in the game, due to having around 500k HP, so you're in for the long hall. Though instead of trying to push through it with all your damage builds; it's better to have a more defensive approach due to all the stuff this phase throws at you.
-Alfyn (Dancer) With speed enhancing equipment, you can make it so Alfyn can move first in a lot more situations. And due to his ability to weild Axes, you can give him the Double Tomahawk, which doubles the amount of normal attacks, easily exposing Galdera's Axe weakness with up to 8 hits at maximum boosts. Having him use Concoct is also a huge lifesaver.
-Cyrus (Sorcerer) This one is necessary. The ability to hit all foes with Light magic (give him as much elemental attack as you can, both in equipment and skills, potentially using the Bishop's Staff, having high elemental attack and Increase Light) Don't worry about having to use SP Saver, as one of our other party members can make up for that.
-Therion (Cleric) It may sound odd, but Cleric Therion is one of the best SP supports in the game, so having the most damage boosting skills on Cyrus is a non-factor. Give him the max amount of SP boosting (Hypnos Crown, Robe of the Flame, 2x Stimulating Necklace and Inner Strength Passive) giving around 450-500 SP at high levels. Another thing he can do is throw Aelfric's Auspisces at Cyrus, allowing him to not only assist breaking Galdera, but also doing the maximum amount of damage during the break phases.
Tressa (Hunter) yes, best girl Tressa is making a key appearance in the final battle. Her role here is to provide BP if Alfyn is too busy Concocting health, and using Leghold Trap to expand your options. If she doesn't need to do anything else, she can just throw money in the form of Hired Help.
As for skills, you want Saving Grace on *everyone*. If Alfyn goes first or at least early in the turn, the basic Purifying Dust + Essence of Grape gives everyone an extra 3000 HP. Even better, once you have max boosts, you can use Dohter's Charity to frankly cheese, with the use of Revitalizing Jams affecting everyone, fully restoring HP, BP and SP.
Second Phase: This one can either be nightmarish, or so easy to the point that it's anti-climactic. This boss has around 180k HP.
-Ophilia (Warrior) Her role here is pretty simple. You need to be able to draw single targeted attacks away from Olberic. If he does die, use a NO BOOST revive. This brings him back with 1 HP.
-Primrose (Starseer) Starseer has some interesting skills, two of which are BIG helps in this fight; Divination, raising crit rate, and BP boost to spam on Olberic for Winnehild's Battle Cry.
-H'aanit (Thief) Pretty self explanatory, the Thief job here is to apply Armor Corrosive on the main body, once the other body parts have been killed.
-Olberic (Warmaster) This is a risky set, with several *mandatory* subskills for this to work. Physical Prowess, BP Eater, Fortitude, Surpassing Power.
Make sure Olberic is at 1 HP (the easiest way to do this is to get into a Challenge with a high ranked NPC, and defend until you lose. That should put you at 1HP. Equip him with the highest damage weapons (Battle Tested Blade, Memorial Axe, Battle Tested Bow, Battle Tested Spear, Battle Tested Dagger, Giant's Club) and spam Winnehild's Battle Cry. Using this should kill the adds, but you will need H'aanit to Armor Corrosive before the next Battle Cry on the main body.
great guide, crushed Galdera using this set up after losing the first time
I like to call this guy the Ultimate Challenge......cause never in all my life have I faced a foe this hard in a video game. Ever.
Classic Cyrus the God Slayer in the first phase, I like it. And then the classic Tressa sidestep olberic the destroyer combo in second phase. Fucking love watching people fight this boss. And loved fighting it.
This reminds me of the first Sephiroth fight in Final Fantasy VII when they have you use two parties. But there I've never used the 2nd team.
Boy am I glad that I looked this up beforehand out of curiosity. No way I would have grinded enough to get this done O_O Thanks for the upload
Congrats!!!! Defeating the boss must have been rewarding huh?
You can just ward off random encounters, nothing more.
Which passive skills do you use on you're characters? Besides saving Grace and patience of course. Show goes on for support?

I beat him with this combination with all of them at level 62-63, having completed all the missions in the game, so I also had the best items I could get.
The chapters: stories about growth of one self
The finale: ohhhh we're jrpg, kill god please
You know a final boss theme in a JRPG is epic when it doesn't change on a second Phase.
It did change though
It does change.
And its evil wing from bravely default with opera
terrahort the first phase or the second?
Gaelpro18 G the first one
Best fight ever, i just killed him with 58-76 level characters he killed me 4 times but i managed at the end i was so happy.
Phase 1:”I don’t know... is your dad a giant f**king centipede made out of RIB CAGES AND HATRED?!”
Phase 2: “P.S. You might wanna keep your eyes peeled for the PERSONIFICATION OF DEATH ITSELF!”
Hey look, its PTSD the boss.
Wow! My main party is 62. My second party at 34. I'm not grinding for this ball ache. Completed all 8 stories and gave this game 85hours of my time. Great game and think I'll stop there.
So how and where do you grind all of these items? More specifically the ones that gives you BP.
I regret selling so many of my jams, especially since money is so plentiful, at this point.
Ah yes this boss was so satisfying to beat after doing some grinding and party editing
So my understanding is that this is a boss rush + final boss that takes 2 hours to complete, but if you leave the gate at any point or fail, you have to start over from the beginning?
I'm afraid I must give that a pass. Congrats to anyome who powers though to complete it. I'm content with beating the eight stories and knowing the lore.
You cannot leave at all and there is no save point inside whatsoever
You have three options
1. Go in and win
2. Go in and lose, going back to the previous save point
3. Return to the title screen or otherwise shut off the game / your system, going back to the Hornburg save point as specified in option 2
Git gud
I beat this boss 2 years ago?!....damn how time flies
Hey nice video
What's the rewards and what's the effect ?
Also why don't you use Divine dancer for AOE buff ? because i saw you use reflect veil and others stuff solo, if you use dancer aoe, it AOE even the starseer skill that apply no debuff and no buff on boss.
Thoai93 pretty sure the ribbon disables random enemy encounters, which I guess is near for exploring the world and seeing in all of its glory
I thought that was only for attacks on the enemy not on self... LOL
Yeah i did some testing since this boss whoop my ass first time, you can apply any solo buff to AOE, and do the crazy combo Counter with light rune, the boss with break itself lol
Yeah like the wording is so terrible, don't feel bad about that though, it was almost useless on this boss since he dispells buffs pretty much as soon as you get them up. I ran my warrior as a Rune Lord though which was pretty cool for AoE Runes + AoE phys def up :). Well played
elemental edge from the runelord tree will give you a permanent peacock strut, you should check it out
Im here because I only cared to finish half the chapter 4. From everything Ive heard or even just watching this I can confirm that I have neither the will power or desire to beat this boss.
I'm proud to say I was able to defeat him a while back! I am wondering tho why you aren't you using your Warmaster Battlecry ability at the beginning, especially at low HP right away? If you give him that ability his damage will intensify by a lot. I was able to do 9999+ damage on every single hit of that major WM ability. Which basically killed off most of the lackeys and break the mask in that one move and the rest of my party was just doing attacks and heals.
Complete bullshit that they put the insanely hard final boss behind a point of no return with no save points and an eight-part JRPG boss rush. How the hell was I supposed to know that going in with all my characters at 50-55 wasn't going to be nearly enough, especially considering that I cleared the boss rush just fine?
43 minutes? Damn
Great, thanks! Now I dont have to grind for hours to finish this boss.
I like that they have a really strong final boss... BUT I hate how the whole last area you can't safe. You're in a bossrush-mode and you can't safe once. You can't even leave. I tried it one time, spending hours in this area, just so that I loose at the second phase. I loved the story/lore and all, and the boss itself is really good as well as the design of him, I just hate how they've done that whole area. Because no one thinks "Yes, entering an end-game dungeon without the ability to leave or save and not warn you about it beforehand is a really nice design choice and I loved doing that 4 times"
Yeah, not being able to save at any point was a really stupid decision by them.
I still haven’t got to this yet lol
Congrats my second party suck
If you want to win this fight, keep everyone caught up, not just your main 4 characters. I always make sure that my entire team is caught up before doing any boss fights in the game at all.
For anybody seeing this in 2022, the level requirement isn’t anywhere near as steep as it looks. The video I’m linking beats this guy with levels in the *low 40’s,* though there’s a bit of RNG in phase two because that party is so fragile. Gear is far more important than levels. Basically, Primeval Bow of Storms and Tradewinds Spear on Sorc Tressa combine for 1.6 (I think?) times normal wind damage, so plus 999 elemental attack, she starts getting into the territory of 20k times three Ventus Saltares against phase one. Combine with the full party Revitalizing Jam strategy used in this video, phase one is fairly trivial. Phase two is all about getting a one HP Fortitude Winnehild caster to act second in the battle, so you toss a pomegranate to get them to full boost immediately and potentially one-shot the three forward targets. Once they’re down, break the main boss with Thousand Spears or normal attacks and Winnehild again. Unless you’ve gotten whacked by AoE magic (one or several Cover tanks mean physical attacks don’t matter), you’ve then won the fight.

I don't even mess with fortitude, because it's too risky. I went through phase 2 relying on Runemaster Tressa to keep everyone alive with Rune Transfer/side step, plus I equipped everyone with saving grace and used Ophelia to massively overheal their HP. That was enough to keep the team alive for my Warmaster to kill the boss without using fortitude. Took down all the adds in 2 turns, then the boss in about 6.
entered the dungeon with 4 level 45s, did not expect to use a 2nd party -_-
I came here because of that stupid party mechanic. I didn’t wanna grind everyone to level 70+ when only my main 4 teammates were even close to that point
It's definitely possible to fight him in the 50's and 60's area. Though very grueling and time consuming, a tight strategy can take him down (quizzle came up with a really good one!). If you do plan to fight him, for reference, my weakest party member was level 64 and the highest was 69
yea if you wanna fight for 5 hours. truly a lot of fun lol.
I love the game but honestly. you have to grind for 20 hours to actually enjoy that last battle.
not gonna do that.
All my characters are like 58 and I died after the 4th turn
czcams.com/video/-56VPxtmIFU/video.html
Party between 61 and 64, no extra classes and no saving grace. The hardest part is the first few turns of the second phase. It took me several tries to survive, but with saving grace instead of saving MP, you can do it easily.
Actually, to get your secondary party's members level 60-65 it tooks only like 2h
Beating this thing with 4 characters under level 55 is gonna be hella fun
Haha, that was my situation. Silly me thinking my sorcerer primrose would be enough offensive power alone for the first part without the skill to boost HP above 100% (entire team got one shot). I'll take the extra story I got from beating the shadow bosses and be happy with that. I feel kinda bad about killing the dragon now that I know it was Graham
ChronoFlation Dragon?
@@V1G4M1 Han'nit's final boss. The mad dragon you had to slay was Graham transformed
ChronoFlation oh, redeye ^^ I always thought it was just redeye, since she had a dragon in ch 3 ^^
@@V1G4M1 Yeah, when you defeat the ghost of redeye in the final arch before this superboss you get to read a memory of Graham that reveals his final fate, transforming into a beast when she tried to use his body to reincarnate her father. It never explicitly calls him redeye, but it seems clearly implied, as he's being hunted in his final moments of consciousness. And, if I'm remembering correctly, redeye did speak in tiny bits. I guess I could be wrong, but it seemed to imply that to me
The only thing harder than Dark Souls
Dark Souls is easy, I don't know why everyone compared hard games to Dark Souls
It's not hard. Just requires a lot, a lot lot of grinding. Dark Souls requires a lot of skill and pattern memorizing
@@gasparsigma i hate memorizing the doggy. i hate doge in Souls Series 😂
@Tom Campbell hell No if bloodbourne was something then it was the easiest. But with the best atmosphere, enemies and gameplay
the feeling to beat this boss was just most rewarding but cant i really not fight him again =,(
Must we use all 8 chars to fight this batlle? Can we just use 4? My 4 main chars are lv 84 already. The rest are around 3x....I am so tired of grinding level and items for the other four....
How did you level so fast? I have to grind, so i can do the next chapter for Primrose..
If you are around lv 35-40 you can grind at Maw of the Dragon (lv45 danger). You can also catch the boss Dreadwolf here, I got 3 from here lol.
You can grind here until you are 55 and the exp you get is still acceptable. Of course if you have the job starseer things might be quicker.
When you are level 5x you can start grinding in the caves of Advance Job. Any of those 4 would be fine. You can catch the Revenant 10* there. They appear more frequently than the optional bosses.
Until you are 6x or more, go to the Forest of Purgatory or Everhold Tunnels. Be warned that the Everhold tunnels is Lvl55 danger and even more dangerous than the Purgatory Forest (lv58). The everhold tunnels is where you find the strongest optional boss - Devourer of Dreams. It can one hit kill all your team. If you have the skill Divine Aura of the Starseer then you have 25% to survive the hit. The boss uses this skilll just one or two phases after engaging. If you are unlucky enough, it would open the battle with this skill. Catching it is really fun and he is really strong with 3 summons.
However, if you ever grinding in Evenhold, beware of the boss randomly appears after battling it the first time.
Thank you! I've finally completed one character and now I'm starting/trying to do end game content, and doing the other characters as well.
Monika i would recommend to save money to buy all the necessary item for Concoction of Alfyn. Make sure you train him over Lv65 or 70. He can be the main savior and buffer in your team during the 2nd Phase of the Final Boss. Learn all the concoction to understand how they work and their effects. They will save you lots of time and turns to break the shield, need not to pay attention to the damage, just break the shield and Cyrus can do the rest.
i didnt ever need concoct in the boss fight. i rarely got debuffed maybe poisoned once or twice and i think its more uselful to get dohters charity on warmaster and alfyn for having that second revtalizing or ur warmaster can dish massive dmg.
Did the boss 2 try but the first was with my second party level 30 (didnt know id need em) and then cleaned it easily with nearly the same strat as in the video.Got quite lucky with his stripping ability though, it happened once at the very start of phase 2 and then in the middle where it was no problem what so ever, but the first was rather tricky to get them buffs back
40:54 the Quadrapath heroes that beat Galdera XD
So every character’s chapter 4 mentions relation to either Kit, Graham Crossford, Galdera, or the gate of finis, except Primrose...
Ophilia: Mattias wanted to revive Galdera
Cyrus: the murels in the ruin foretold of Death Doom Destruction happening if the gate is opened
Tressa: Tressa has Graham Crossford’s notebook throughout her journey and the sexy bitch that tressa fights (I forgot her name honestly) wanted the notebook for reasons (oh wait her name is Esmeralda just got it)
Olberic: Werner destroyed hornburg to get to the gate of finis
Alfyn: Graham Crossford saved alfyn’s life
Therion: the dragonstones are the key to opening the gate
H’annit: red eye is Graham Crossford
So my question is, what was the connection with Primrose or Simeon?
Simeon prevented that the plan of Lyblac was unveiled by Primrose's dad. He is also mentioned as one of her minions in one of the eight books at the end.
Prim's dad found out about the Gate of Finis that's why the Obsidians killed him.
So after beating the 8 first bosses, will I be able to save at all? I have 3 people in the 70s and one is in the 60s.
no
Are there more secret places unlocked by sidequests? For example, I wonder where Azelhard Mansion is located.
Noblecourt, it's the closed mansion
Didn't even last 2 turns on it's 2nd phase...:(
All my Energizing Pomegranates that I’ve collected all lead up to this battle
And the Jams
if anyone wants to try it my teams (all between 70-75) were :
Team 1 : h'aanit(warrior) ,alfyn(celric), primrose(sorcerer) , cyrus (starseer) : depend on reflecting magic and be patient
Team 2: Olberic(warmaster) , Tressa (runelord ), ophilia(scolar), therion,(apoth) : side step
My setup
1: H'aanit (Warrior), Therion (Apothacary), Cyrus (Sorcerer), Alfyn (Cleric)
2: Olberic (War Master), Tressa (Runelord), Primrose (Scholar), Ophilia (Star Seer)
Would this boss make a spot in a new Top 10 Hardest JRPG boss list?
But of course!!!
MrTherandomguy42 Definitely...but would it beat the Demifiend in Digital Devil Saga
Me and my dramatic ass was hoping there could have been a quick dialogue for alfyn seeing Graham again before he disappeared.
I was hoping Tressa would recognize lol.
i did this with the following party:
(Party 1)
h'aanit (lvl 62 warrior/hunter)
cyrus (lvl 63 scholar/cleric)
alfyn (lvl 66 apothecary/starseer)
tressa (lvl 63 merchant/runelord)
(Party 2)
Therion (lvl 73 thief/warmaster)
primrose (lvl 71sage/dancer)
olberic (lvl 62 hunter/warrior)
ophelia (lvl 68 Cleric/scholar)
took around the same time, word of caution, have a shit ton of pomegranate (L) and jams, you're gonna need them for this strat.
Huh. Lux Congerer has a different animation than mine. What's your Sorcerer support skills?
Cedar Grove he used the scholar divine skill that focus the attacks on a single enemy, thus the animation changes as well
I don't think I could have beaten him without catching a Chubby Cait, and I acknowledge that doing so is a cheese strategy. However, I didn't use any of the hidden four jobs, so I desperately wanted a substitute for Runelord Tressa.
So if this final boss kills then we do we have to do everything again?
As in kill all those blue flame bosses again. I haven't gotten, that's why I'm asking. I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for the worst.
Yes you have to do the blue flame bosses again.
Pantheon of Hallownest vs A Journey's end.....
Tressa....for some reason i felt like i heard happy’s voice then (from fairy tail)
666 views...wow and Cyrus is busted as hell.
If you actually pay attention Therion did way more damage than Cyrus.
So I just tried this boss and I can't tell you how much I got FUCKED SO HARD XD This boss is crazy but man it's so epic at the same time. My party was like at level 55 or something except for one character that was like at level 70. I have a lot of grinds to do. But well done man this boss is truly a challenge for anyone.
My strategy was very similar only differences were
H'annit was my Warmaster
Olberic was my Apothecary
Alfyn was the Warrior
Cyrus was my 1st phase carry Tressa was my 2nd phase carry
What support skills were you running, if it isnt too much trouble
Saving grace from cleric patience from hunter and sp saver from merchant. I don't think for the first fight any had damage skills aside from maybe therion, and cyrus.
