That one level in the Petal Isles with the giant Bowser castle staring you down in the distance with this music playing was easily one of the most unsettling areas in the game for me so far.

I don't know why, but I REALLY love this theme.
Weird enough simply the start of this song is my favourite thing in the game as well as that level with bowser in the background and all the munchers. If only the rest of the song wasn't as lame (in my opinion), this would surely surpass the athletic theme and be my favourite song of all.

It's really good for a Mario game to have this "foggy, slightly unsettling, but overall calm" atmosphere. Muncher fields is probably my favourite level in the whole game

Muncher Fields probably had some of the best atmosphere in the game for me. Castle Bowser looming in the distance added so much.
Not only that, but the calm raining and unusually chill Talking Flower dialogue really made me think that this theme was basically Nintendo’s first attempt at making Lofi Music for a Mario Game
it creeped me out a bit, but also calmed me down due to the rain ambience
I found the gloomy atmosphere weirdly nostalgic
I feel so bad for that flower in the rift level. Poor guy is all alone :(

This is really good, that level with Castle Bowser in the background is pure aesthetic.
This theme is probably one of my favorites in the entire game. And I definitely agree with everyone about the Muncher Gardens level. Castle Bowser's looming grin really added to the atmosphere.

This song made muncher felds and beware of the rifts two surprisingly unsettling levels, easily the best aesthetics in the game. Muncher fields especially, i love the fog and the looming bowsers castle in an area that otherwise looks like a corrupted version of the start of the game

This music can be majestic or unsettling depending on the environment. It is majestic in world 1 in that secret sunset level but in the muncher level with bowser staring at you it is unsettling.

Super interesting departure from the Forest/Jungle level vibes of the NSMB series. I really like how this one zeroes in on the "mysterious" nature to forests.
Even with that Bowser in the background, that level was incredible, now added to this incredible soundtrack, it is the perfect level
I almost wanna say this is called the "Eerie Theme" since it seems like they tried to use it for levels that had a sort of eerie or creepy undertone to them. Of course, I can't say for certain, since I don't think Nintendo usually gives their tracks names...
Yeah this one was titled “Dark Forest” in the files. Main reason I chose “Fungi Mines Theme” for it was because it’s primarily used as the main overworld themes for levels in W5.

This song is the most nostalgic thing I’ve ever seen, it reminds me of the times when I was playing with my friends when it was rainy during the pandemic, it’s been only 4 years and I already miss it😢
Mellow and moody. Great track and a refreshing contrast to the bright, saccharine aesthetic of the rest of the game.

This should be considered one of the best Mario songs of ALL time. The key changes are incredible, the sound selection is great. Whatever key it’s in has such a unique feel to it. This song is even really good with the elephant.

Best theme in the game for me, the brass section is very cool and the bassline is so nasty haha, the instruments in the chill section are nice too. I've had this theme in my head for days.
The muncher fields level gives me so much nostalgia idk why, this music is something special. I legit sat in the level for a good 10 minutes listening to the music. gosh I love this theme so much
I think the slow and gloomy sound of this theme really contrasts well with the upbeat and groovy wonder effects themes in this world
