You gotta love him playing Albert King's "Lucy" flying V guitar!!!!🤘🤘👍👍
Yes, that's Albert King's vintage, left handed, Gibson Flying V that Joe is playing right handed....OUTSTANDING.
His back up singers..... Lord have mercy!
Especially the one in the middle!!
@@John.Smith007 It’s Jade Mccrae; excellent singer in her own right ... and just as beautiful as Mahalia Barnes at her left ...
@@perthomsen8867 Wow! She's my dream girl!! Haha!!
@@John.Smith007 - Totally agree!!!
She just has "that look" that tells ya you better be able to man up or you're in trouble! Damn sexy!!!
@@BillyJoeJimBob8 Yeah, man! She's just too damn hot!!
If I'm not wrong, the backing vocalist on the far right of the screen is Mahalia Barnes! She had an audition in the Voice Australia -2012 while singing Tina turner “Proud Mary”...She Rocks
Your right good eyes
Jimmy Barnes daughter
Yes, that sure is Mahalia (Jimmy's girl) - and next to her is another Australian, Jade MacRae - both top shelf and probably under-apprecxiated in australia. Good to see them find a "home" with an act as classy as joe.
All 3 girls are pure perfection, but Mahalia is definitely the standout!
And, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE FLYING "V"!!! ❤❤❤
My favourite blues song of all time! Written by Stax legend Booker T. Jones and blues singer William Bell, "Born Under a Bad Sign" has been made famous by Albert King and in time recorded by Cream, Paul Butterfield, Robben Ford, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Buddy Guy & Koko Taylor, Etta James among many, many others. Here it is... Joe's version playing "Lucy", Albert's guitar that is a "legend" in its own right, possibly one of the most famous guitars on this planet. By the way, "Lucy" it is not a Gibson as you may think but a 1972 "Dan Erlewine custom flying V". Pump up the volume as much as you can and enjoy!
JB was on fire for this song and the entire concert for that matter!!!
When you have Anton Fig, Reese Wynans, and Keith Fletcher backin' you up, you're doing something right!!!
And don’t forget Michael Rhodes. RIP.
never get tired of those trademark Albert king licks
Jason Smith On Albert's very own Flying V too!
Jason Smith
Making every bend sear your brain man
Hearing great guitarists like Joe is the reason I play drums.
Bass here.
One of the many great things about Joe and his band is they understand tempo and pocket. They don't rush things, and they stay solidly in the pocket. They do it almost better than anybody. Makes for terrific punchy live performances.
Less...Is, more!!! Such a frkn tight band !, Jade, please call me.
Yes, the tempo is crucial to a good blues song. They sure nailed it.
Great comment. Pocket is another word for feel. You cant teach it. You have it or you dont.
How cool is Joe??? Total guitar nerd and one of the greatest blues guitarist's of all time!!! If not for guitar of the day and Norms I'd never have found Joe!!!
Thanks JOE. Seeing alberts Flying V again in action is bitter sweet.
What is bitter about it?
@@joeblow2069 I miss Albert!!
I do not see how anyone could do a better cover of this fine work by Albert King. And ,,, if you notice he is playing on Albert's guitar. She still gets to sing ! WoW
I hope to be like a jo bonamassa guitar soloist. Just a fraction of his guitar skills will do. His solos make my legs dance...whew...
I was at this concert and when he played this song there was actually a full moon. If you’re not familiar with Greek theater, it is an outside venue. It was truly an experience
Wow that must have been quite the MOJO MAN ! I love it when all the ambiance and the energies combine they create a unique experience . Loved the Greek man back in the day
Nice to see Albert's Flying V (Lucy) being put to good use
Formerly owned by Steven Seagal
Joe also bought and old Tweed from Seagal and used it on this tour.
wasnt alberts guitar strung correct for right hand but he played it lefty..so the high strings were on top?
Got me there, I'll have to google that one.
johncartelli yes you're right. that was the exact set up
That was one classy and soulful version of one of my favorite songs. The addition of three beautiful ladies with angel like voices topped it off perfectly.
He amazes me!
Three beautiful Aussie ladies.... Juanita Tippins, Jade MacRae and the incredible Mahalia Barnes.
Pat Travers rendition of this has been my favorite since the 70's, it's badass and still my favorite but Joe is Killin it, no surprise there!
Joe Bonamassa is just pure magical
I thought I recognized that guitar! From one king to another King! Awesome, just awesome!
My God ....I am always amazed by Joe....such a fierce artistic expression of his love for music ....a level that I just love..
Brilliant. I'd love to see him play live. What a concert that would be
doesn't get much better than this. Joe is phenomenal
Never loved anyone like I love him. Great Artist!!
living guitar legend
Best version I ever heard. The horns make it.
Come on 😂😂😂😂😂
Джо Бонамасса это всегда драйвово, интересно, стильно и профессионально. Это высочайший класс, подтвержденный временем. Сенкс!
Anton is an awesome drummer. Great crew Joe, your awesome live!
If you ever saw Albert King in a small club setting you witnessed a master bluesman. No one can compare to him today or ever. Great to see Joe paying respect to the great blues players.
Amen, except for me. I might be the best Albert interpreter in the world
I got to see both Muddy and BB in Montreal in the '70s with their full bands. Unforgettable. Joe brings that spirit and really delivers. And I love how every player and singer gets to show their stuff. Great for fans, great for musicians too.
~ Any One Alive During The Bonamassa Era Was “Born Under A Good Sign” ✊🏻😎
Wow - what a tribute to Albert King! Joe uses a Flying V, he plays it in C#, the same key as Albert (Albert played it in E position but he detuned his guitar by 3 semitones =C#), and Joe starts off using Albert's licks. What a subtle tribute to a blues master!
What a wonderful tribute. And yes...couldn't believe my eyes....Albert King's old V. Loved this!
Albert King's Flying V!!! Boy, I've heard that guitar a lot on records for about 46 years.
How is this entity has been unperceived by me, witness perception of perfection
You have his guitar!!!! Just wow
Выражение: Поёт гитара - в исполнении Гения обретает смысл облик и плоть. БРАВО!!!
Saw the Greek show
a couple of years ago.
“Slow Gin”
closed the show.
It’s the song I was waiting for
Absolutely another fantastic tune by Joe.
On the drums is Anton Fig, who for many years held down the drum chair on The David Letterman Show. And on keyboards is Reese Wynans... he was in a little band you might remember... Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble.
Joe has some great licks but not the sharp attack that was unique to Albert King's playing. Still Joee he loves and keeps the blues alive!
Joe gets a tone outta that V 2nd to no one! He's in a class all his own!
(So there)
cheers
Albert King was a unique guitarist but Bonamassa is much better than Albert ever was.
There is a lot more to playing blues than a lot of 16th notes. Albert King will never be equaled.
If all you're hearing is 16th notes...that could be your problem, because this and every song he plays is so much more.
I did not mean to slam Joe in any way, just saying that Albert and Freddie were in a different league
"Born Under A Bad Sign"
Born under a bad sign
Been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck
You know I wouldn't have no luck at all
Hard luck and trouble been my only friend
I been on my own ever since I was ten
Born under a bad sign
Been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck
You know I wouldn't have no luck at all
I can't read, I didn't learn how to write
My whole life has been one big fight
Born under a bad sign
I been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck
I said, I wouldn't have no luck at all
That ain't no lie
You if it wasn't for bad luck
I wouldn't have no kind-a luck
If it wasn't for real bad luck
I wouldn't have no luck at all
You know wine and women is all I crave
A big legged woman is gonna carry me to my grave
Born under a bad sign
I been down since I begin to crawl
If it wasn't for bad luck
I tell ya I wouldn't have no luck at all
Yeah, my bad luck boy
Been havin' bad luck all of my days, yes
Love his version of this great song!
Joe Cocker (RIP) with Joe....just imagine!!
Absolutely
Killer tone right there
when it comes to backup singers Joe sure knows how to pick em.
Just love that music,Joe Bonamassa!!!!!🥰🤩
Fire! He was singing great then 2015 but my god now his voice is UNREAL! He just scored his 28th #1 blues album. Check out his channel there are a couple vids of his latest album Live at the Hollywood Bowl. It was a special performance his band backed by an orchestra!
Your whole band is awesome. Luv the backup singers too
Backing voicees Juanita Tippins, Jade Mc Rea and Mahalia Barnes, i guess.
Jade McRea is the sexiest backup singer I've ever seen
@@MobilDJ50 Without a doubt!! She is sooooooo good looking!!!
@@MobilDJ50 Do you think Joe had any luck at all that night?
@@66gft you are definitely correct with that on the angels singing
That Flying V is perfect!
Jedidiah Smith *thats albert kings bro*
Looks like it was make for a left hander too. Probably because Albert King was left handed :-). Joe's own Flying V (Amos) is an right handed model.
Joe, channelling Albert & Jack! Amazing!
This is right up there with Albert and Jack- just stumbled on Joe's version. 5 stars!
You know I've truly believe, that their singers who can play guitar and there are guitarist who can sing Joe bonamassa is a guitarist who can sing.
He is soo Tight! I could listen to him forever,! Makes that guitar sing too!
Mee, too !! Love it...Got this Detroit Heart Bouncing !!!!
absolutely agree he is super tight
Ladies pet and the men's regret...
Makes that guitar get up and walk!
Great song Awsome band
Yet, >Another< song that pushes the limit of credibility..
Love the ladies backing up...Anton Figg Joe's right hand man.
best drummer around way stievie needed him .
Joe's style is always identifiable (regardless of how many are in the band) but somehow, still fresh. I've loved him for years!
I feel you way down in my bones, when you play my heart listens , so glad you are having a good ride.
Look at the fucking passion this man has when he’s fucking playing u can’t fake this passion blood sweat and tears is what I see when I see joe playing Albert would be fucking proud long live the blues
Good, great, as always... best guitar around! Thank you JB.
Sounds great, love the way Joe sings this tune, and of coarse his guitar playing is flawlessly good and authentic
Absolutely stunning !

Great!
Loved Albert's version but Joe took this song, put it in his back pocket and made it his. Love everything he does.
Vai Joe che vai bene! Complimenti anche agli orchestrali veramente eccezionali!!!!!!!
May 20th, 2017 at 8PM. Munich Olympiahalle...last show of the European tour and my first time seeing him live. Surprise for my wife and heaven comes to earth for me...;-) I first heard Joe in Afghanistan...on my Ipod...downloaded it while I was on a short break back in Germany in 2008...Slow Gin. I have been hooked ever since! Can't wait...:-D
