The blunder happened in the car park of Lewisham Hospital on Thursday (20/05/2021) morning at around 10am.
Darren Pittman was looking for a space himself when he noticed the driver failing miserably to park his £65,000 blue Jaguar I-Pace fully electric car and had already hit a black Ford Focus parked on the right.
As the clip begins the car is flush against a Toyota Aygo reversed parked on the left, and the front wheels are over the kerb on gravel.
He first reverses straight back, it is now clear his wheels are over the line and in the already occupied bay.
Driving forward with the wheel turn slightly to the right he again hits the kerb, however instead of straightening his wheels he turns them further to the right and as a result the eight month old car hits the Toyota.
He attempts this manoeuvre a total of four times and hitting the car again before reversing straight back and the clip ends as he gets closer to Mr Pittman's car.
Sharing the clip online he wrote: "Never drive a car that is too big to park."
The video has been viewed 220,000 times attracted 500 comments and been shared over 1,000 times.
Almost immediately the stereotypical comments came such as 'must be a woman driver' or 'an elderly man' and many suggested the driver must be drunk or even possibly ill.
Darren later revealed that it was a man in his 40s driving, he was as sober as a judge and perfectly well.
It is not known however the extend of the damage to the Jaguar or either of the vehicles it hit.
One user commented: "Are they drunk?! Serious note though are they ill or having a stroke or something?"
A second wrote: "Spends £60k on a new Jaguar, yet gets their licence from Kelloggs."
While a third said: "They can afford the car, but not driving lessons?"
Another added: "Even with gadgets, gizmos, sensors and cameras onboard look at this lemon!"
Bay parking has formed part of the driving test since 2017, and although reverse bay parking is more practical and safer, you could be asked to to do either by your examiner but will only be asked to reverse into a bay in the driving centre car park and to drive into a bay elsewhere.

The joke of the matter is that the car has more than likely a self parking assist fitted to it which would have avoided this stupid driving all together. I think to be frank though this person shouldn't be on the road in the first place... Frightening!
Last time i used parking assistance in the same car. It parked me into another car. So wouldn’t trust it🥵

I have also have a jaguar I-Pace and these cars have parking sensors, 6 cameras with 360° viewing and autonomous parking features. There really is no excuse for this.

Provided they’re working today, ive seen Jaguar black out even the instrument panel while driving, or take forever to get the system going after startup.
Doesn't mean they can operate any of those function !! Just look at the driving, it takes determination to be that stupid.

If you can't do a simple reverse from a normal parking spot then you should not be on the road. This moron should have it's licence revoked with immediate effect. This is a very basic movement that any licenced driver should be able to complete WITHOUT any assistance whatsoever. I bet the the prick didn't stick around or leave details either!

She reminded me of a similar situation in my work carpark, a woman spent half an hour trying to maneuver out of a normal space, mashing the cars either side over and over..
Many people were trying to help but she ignored them. I'd never seen a car go lock to lock so many times without moving, when it did it was under a metre... and she seemed to shuffle the car sideways in micro movements both ways, it's just amazing that they are out there... legally driving.

I would have gone over to check that the driver was okay and wasn’t having a medical emergency, perhaps the beginning stages of a stroke or seizure.

I've stopped a guy steaming drunk, could hardly walk across the pub carpark, watched in disbelief as he got in the drivers seat and started his car up! Before he could put it in gear I was opening his door and shutting it off, I couldn't live with myself if I let him drive off and potentially kill someone or himself!😯⚠️

The driver was a 40 year old man. May be that it was a older person that filmed it and didn't want to risk an encounter with a 40 year old male who might be aggressive. We shouldn't judge if we weren't there.

I'll tell you about the car park of a hotel I was staying in where the family where unloading and their 2 year old wandered off. SUV driver reverses into a space and felt a bump, thought they had hit a kerb so rolled forward and reversed again and felt another bump..... True story and it didn't end well. And this driver is a prime example of repeating that tragic tale.
I once had to tell a lady to stop trying to reverse into a space that so obviously too short for her car a blind person could see it...she just huffed and puffed at me and drove off lol.

filming it is the better thing to do in this case, the damage was already done. now they have evidence of who caused it and will be covered insurance wise.

This reminds me of the time I worked at the House Of Lords, a very elderly Peer did this to a parked Rolls Royce.I watched the whole thing but amazingly the very next day he denied all knowledge of it.Fortunately for the owner of the RR I managed to convince the Peer to admit his wrongdoing.

Can't park, presumably can't drive full stop. Lovely new Jaguar will be destroyed soon. But why doesn't the cammer get out and offer to help? If only to save the Yaris from further mistreatment?
It's a question of "mea culpa". If the camera guy gets in that car, it becomes a "joint enterprise" and he becomes as guilty as the (unable to) driver. It's shaky enough ground as it is, just to stand there and do nothing. His best course of action would be to call the police, and gather as much evidence as possible. Just videoing the event would not be sufficient defence.
You could argue that just standing there filming it happen is probably the best course of action these days, especially if the jag owner decided to do a runner.

Park in the middle of the space for starters like you are supposed to. Keep practicing with no vehicles next to you until you get it right. It's really quite easy for most people; then there's this guy....
One would (mistakenly) assume that this person has sufficient intelligence to somehow make enough money to buy this gorgeous Jaguar, and yet they are lacking basic spacial intelligence to be able to move it.

This is why I park the fuck away from all over cars in car parks where possible.
The person driving this has absolutely no concept of steering geometry and should have their licence revoked and made to take a retest, concentrating especially on parallel parking, reversing and reversing around a corner.
