Anytime I see a padlock at a thrift store I feel compelled to grab it so I can share it with my viewers. I highly recommend spending a few more bucks on a REAL lock..
Might be useful to keep a shed door from blowing open in the wind.. maybe 😂. $1.25 doesn't go as far as it used to, you've got that right! Thanks buddy
Can you do some destructive testing of the shackle and body of the smaller one? I'd also like to see the guts. I use it to keep some snacks ”safe" in a locker at my fire station & I made sure to find one with good biting.
I have these too. I got a comb pick stuck in that little keyway of the smaller one. I couldn't get a shim into the ones I bought a couple years ago, so it seems the price went up 25% and the quality went down 50%.
Quickies are fun too 😉 Any lock helps keep honest people honest, but these might not even reach that low bar 🙃 I can't fathom how anyone can make a profit manufacturing these when surely at least half the cost would go into packaging and shipping so maybe $0.63 per lock to make it 😲 On another note I've switched to my city rake for first try on cheaper locks as it seems to work faster than a snake or wave rake and it's successful at least 2/3 as often. I always tension the core, but maybe I'll try like you did just to see what happens.
Hey m8 we had dollar stores then they went to 2 dollar stores and then they went into Extinction nothing now days WE get pop up sale stores that will be there 4 weeks Max close down gone like fire sales probably fallen off the back of trucks they go to the next area that's how it is Australia
I understand. When I first started I wanted to pick everything I can get my lock junkie hands on. The cheapest I can find. I think they’re prone to cracking tho. Not a brass cylinder.

I can't believe for a $1.25 you can get a gold-plated lock with TWO keys! I sure it's got a hardened shackle as well. 😁
I had one of those and I think the thick coat of paint was the most expensive part on the lock. LOL. Take care my friend.

I got one of those once the core of the locks split right down the middle

At least for $1.25 they have a nice paint job 🤣🤣 thanks for the video Al!
A master lock 3 is way more expansive and still shimmable (unless recent changes I'm not aware of), so you might as well get the 1,25$ padlock.
iv got these locks lol some of the first locks i got
