Commenting here to clarify the understandable confusion some people are having after seeing the Lock Picking Lawyer’s video on the older version of this product.
In the older version, there were only 6 possible combinations (2 keys pressed, 2 keys unpressed). In the current “Pro” version, there are now 81 combinations because each of the 4 keys has three possible positions. This should address some people’s concerns about it not being safe around children.
Of course, a determined person could still try all 81 combinations relatively easily if they knew how the mechanism worked and they wanted to get in. I think the idea with this product is that it’s more of a deterrent with a reasonable level of security to prevent random/accidental access.
Children and random people who might incidentally come across the box in your home likely won’t be familiar with the mechanism nor have any reason to try to break into it. Since it’s not marketed as a “safe”, this seems like a reasonable level of safety and functionality.
TLDR: Older version had only 6 possible combos, newer version now has 81 possible combos making is a good deal safer for its intended use case around kids.
You’re giving people too much credit. Even when confronted with the truth they’ve already “made up their mind” and _still_ won’t listen.
As for the product itself, this isn’t a safe or even a locker. It isn’t marketed that way. People have (often deliberate) radically incorrect expectations for products like these. No product is without compromise and people who comment make sport of poking holes in them with no skin in the game 👌
Great objective evaluation with your own subjective input. My kids are at that younger age where they can't rack a slide, and storage is mainly for theft deterrence when I'm away. But like you said, as they get older that can change the dynamics. Obviously education is key too. Great video, nice fast shooting.
Thank you, sir! And yes, I don’t think mine have the hand strength to rack a slide either, but they are close!
I like mine peace of mind when grand kids come around. 100 percent yes.
This isn’t a gun safe, it’s marketed as a retention device. Like a holster. It’s not safe unattended around kids. There are 6 possible combinations that can be worked through in about 10 seconds…
@@wiseinvestments5134 you realize there are additional “half press” key combinations that take it up to 81 combinations, right?
@@wiseinvestments5134that figure is factually incorrect. You have the wrong product thanks hope this helps have a Great weekend 👌
I own three (non-pro, older version) and I love them.
Just bought the BOGO because of your video. I got this for the exact reasons you stated. I have a 4-year-old ,7-week-old, and hopefully another on the way! This is perfect for that reason alone.
Congrats on the incoming baby! And yes, around my kids, this has given me a huge convenience factor as well as a defensive leg up in not needing to completely clear my firearm at home.
Have you been happy with it?
Bought one based off this video. Been putting it off for too long, peace of mind is nice. Can’t put a value on the safety of your kids
Heck yeah man, I didn’t think my opinion mattered THAT much! Means a lot. I don’t see many people talking about actionable things to do with their kids regarding firearms.
Have you been happy with it?
Excellent video! I think this is the only video on youtube showing the Stop Box in action. After watching this video I ordered 2! Thankfully they are running a buy one get one for Black Friday!
I’m glad this helped you! My number one concern was how much accessibility I would be sacrificing, and I don’t think it’s a ton.
Have you been happy with them?
@@hikeskool Yes, I do like them. I like that I no longer have to deal with batteries or possible power outage. I haven't had any issues with mine at all.
Great Video
Thanks dude 👊🏼
Just got a BOGO for Black Friday. My kid is almost a year old and getting into everything already. Totally worth the investment for her safety now and in the future.
Absolutely, dads of princesses have to keep them safe 👊🏼
Once your kid gets finger articulation you should get a real gun safe. These aren’t marketed as a gun safe, they are marketed as a retention device, like a retention holster.
6 combos possible, can be worked through in seconds by a kid with fine motor skills.
@@wiseinvestments5134if you’re going to copy-pasta at least copy-pasta correct information 👌
Have you been happy with it?
@@wiseinvestments5134you have the wrong figures. Stop deliberately spreading wrong information please 👌
Are you still happy with it?
Yes, I do like them. I like that I no longer have to deal with batteries or possible power outage. I haven't had any issues with mine at all.
@@WJ6FRadioI looked at vault tek and thought the features were interesting but it’s just another app to download, another battery to remind myself to charge, etc. This seems like a very simple solution to what’s really not a complicated problem.
Poor Bill...🤣🤣
Things haven’t gone well for him lol
Gahh you're beautiful
Dude my hair is gone now.
The Lock picking lawyer proved this box as terrible for child safety. Check his vid if you don't believe me.
It infuriates me that this guy is being paid to imply it’s safe to leave unattended around kids like a real gun safe.
So irresponsible. 6 possible combinations that can be worked through in a matter of seconds.
Wow! I just looked up the vid. Worst gun safe ever made. Only 6 possible combinations to open the thing.
That was the original version. The current version of this product, and the one shown in the video, has 81 combinations because each of the 4 “keys” can be in 3 different positions. To me, this makes it more safe for small children as it’s a lot more complicated to randomly guess the combo. Albeit a determined person could still of course just try all 81 combinations relatively easily. I think the main idea is that it’s a reasonable level of security/deterrence for someone who isn’t familiar with the mechanism and doesn’t have a reason to try to break into the device.
Are you going to delete / edit this comment since it’s inaccurate?
@@wiseinvestments5134 does it “infuriate” you that you don’t correct / delete your factually-wrong comments?
I don’t know why any gun owner keeps a gun in one of these safes for self defense. It really just comes down to a lack of planning and experience. I can’t think of a single situation where a safe like this is a good idea for self defense.
1.) definitely not a safe
2.) do you have kids?
We travel to Fla each winter, passing trough two states that don’t honor any of my pistol permits, the stop box meets
Those states requirements of locking it up ( unloaded of course ) . Once at the rented condo , I like having the gun in this rather then simply in drawer where a guest or cleaner could easily access it .
@@jerrysimms4717 That’s actually a really good explanation and valid point. Thank you for explaining that.
@@Sonoran_Shooter I do have kids
@@Sonoran_Shooterdude you’ve been paid to promote them, but they don’t market as being a gun safe. It’s marketed as a retention device. This is not meant to be left around kids. The lockpicking lawyer showed how it has 6 possible combinations that can be worked through in 10-15 seconds…
Get a real safe. Fingerprint or digital code.
Shame on you for pretending it’s a safe.
