    “What was it like playing a weak woman?” Id say in this role, she’s stronger than many of her other roles.

    ok this got me 0:40 Even though being on camera naked or shooting a bow and arrow is challeging and awkward this just shows how incredible her acting is!! She is able to speak so perfectly, keep the same face, and truely show her character and how she feel through out the whole sene (ik my spelling is bad, you dont have to tell me). I am just blown away by her talent!!! You can only understand how difficult it is if you have actually picked up a camera and tried to make a miny/normal movie. For me, being on camera is easy but acting on camera is so difficult and what makes it harder s if you have to act a sene like that. I really admire you Jennifer and ur work!! Love you

    She's obviously not doing everything right. And she doesn't have to. Just because she's an actress, doesn't stop her from being an actual flawed human being. To me, she has some pretty interesting opinions and I like her character. I also believe she is talented, maybe a bit overrated, but definitely better than some other blah actresses starring in huge roles atm.

    • @DeliriousGnome
      @DeliriousGnome Před 5 lety +12

      Thank you! People either fawn over her for how 'relatable' she is and overhype her, or berate her for being 'immature' and 'annoying'. The fact is she's a solid commercial actress, slightly overrated in comparison to her contemporaries like Alicia Vikander and Brie Larson, but still talented. She's made her fair share of faux pas and mistakes career-wise but she's also quite charismatic and intelligent as a person. People are so quick to put people on a pedestal or break them down, why can't we just recognise that no person is perfect and we've all got our fair share of flaws and qualities.

    • @saraborg26
      @saraborg26 Před 5 lety +1

There's more to how much you are paid than your gender...Like experience, awards won, position held in that field, how popular you are, etc..Don't fall for the trap of only looking at these complex matters through the sjw lens of looking at everything in terms of gender, race and victimhood status..

    I really love what she said here 6:51-7:25 cause as a huge Jlaw fan I have to face the hard truth of: I dont actually know Jen so I cant say I love her. I mean it sucks but I know that there are millions of people who are also wanting to know jen personally so, I want to meet her and grow a friendship with her but at the same time it would be impossible on Jen to do that for thousands of people and as someone who loves Jennifer (on camera cause that is all I have seen of her) I dont want to do that to her. Another thing is that many celebs try their hardest to make their fans happy and say "my fans know me" or "my fans are all I have" but in reality FANS DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE CELEBRITY THEY ADMIRE!!! Thank you so much Jennifer for saying "my fans dont know me, so they dont love me" and even though some people dont want to hear it (especially from Jennifer her self) it is so true!! People just have to accept the fact that WE DONT LOVE JEN FOR WHO SHE IS WE "LOVE" THE JLAW THAT WE SEE ON THE SCREEN!!

    The scene she speaks of, literally emotionally scarred me. When it happened in the film the first time I saw it, I felt physically ill and thought I was going to start screaming from feeling so emotionally assaulted and almost vomited - such an insanely well-made film. I saw it again and it didn't affect me emotionally like it did before, as I knew what was going to happen, but it made me appreciate the film all the more for how wonderfully done it is.

    "She has a unprecedented career" so true. What an intro. Great clips from Jennifer's films between the interviewed questions. Jen can't help but to express her opinions on issues, not saying something would give her sleepless nights. Expect more sleepless nights as words said can be more damaging if the audience disagrees. When asked what wouldn't you do for love? Jennifer's answer was 'change'. My opinion "it takes strength and will power to sustain your personality when in love. No relationship must challenge the change in personality and control". Jennifer can say things in an unorthodox way, like saying that her fans does not know her or even love her. Whatever disappointment she is feeling right now, it is only temporary. This language of separation and losing connection with fans is due to the dreadful movie ticket sales of the film 'Mother'. It's painful to see your work fail and the important message you want to bring not received as hoped. Actually a certain group praised the message and its delivery to the screen. This is because the message represents a political ideology "Abuse of the earth by humans" that this group supports. Its a false ideology and that is why it was a failure to bring in a wider audience. Jen has a core set of fans that loves any film Jen is in and does not care about what the film represents and the politics behind making the film. Stephen Lindsay-Yule

      Katerina M...Yeah, exactly. She realizes that adulation from fans is not truly knowing or loving someone and is often fleeting. JonBenait06 There is actually. For example we dont really know singers too but in a way we know them a bit better than actors, due to their music. They express themselves through song writing. But actors have a role that was written for them, they should not express themselves.

    "what was it like, playing a weak woman?" what a dumb question. what does it even mean to be "weak" or "strong"? If you conquer your fears you're brave and to me being brave means being strong. that's it. you can be brave in many ways. sometimes it's brave to resist certain instincts - to have an inner strength rather than an outer. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I can't speak for that character. But as an actor/actress you should never see your role as weak, 'cause you wouldn't be able to play it. It's like playing somebody as evil or stupid or selfish. people usually aren't aware of their flaws, or they'd try and change them.

      I think this was one of her strongest characters. She is representing not only the heavy burden mother nature has to cope with regarding the various forms of destruction by human beings ( I am pro human though, just saying) but she is also representing Mother hood and the difficulty of sacrificing your offspring to society. Furthermore, after everything goes horribly wrong, she still forgives the human race, because she knows the alternative is no human life period. THAT is a strong woman.

      I see the bravery, because not like you and me, ordinary people, who speak out there is no consequence. But for a superstar like Jennifer, if she speaks out she may offend a large chunk of potential movie goers to see her film (remember movie is a large investment requiring sizable return) needless to say may cause a lasting perception problems... So for Jennifer to speak out, the price is rather high. Thus bravery.

      @TheAlliCat Před 5 lety +4

      Its not Satanic. Its a 5 pointed star which is in many faiths. This one looks more Pagan and they don't believe in the Christian monotheism so therefore to them there is no such thing as satan.
      The star symbolizes the elements. Earth. Air. Fire. Water. Spirit.
      Let us not cast the first stone about that which we do not understand.

    I would rather see her in light drama or a romantic comedy.She's beautiful and interesting in her interviews. At least in my opinion.If I were to cast her in a film role it would be a country western singer from a poor family in Kentucky struggling to make it in the music biz or a single girl looking for love in a big city or a frontier woman responsible for the survival of her family after her dad was killed off by Indians and her mom died in childbirth.The male love interest in the romantic comedy should be someone cute but with a quirky sense of humor like Ryan Reynolds.

    Sorry i dont know why but somehow she is the same in every movie like they are all the same character. it is disturbing but i like her self. Not many actors or actress seemed like this to me, actually i can't remember any right now. Also she seems too young for that role and she has a childish face yet which is suitable for different kinds of movies.
    I know it is not because her self gets ahead of her roles, a lot of actress has the same thing. Maybe she talks in real life more than them? Nah, not about that. I guess why she looks she is playing the same character in every move is because she has a unique voice and eyes idk and acting habits maybe? which appears the same way for every role. Maybe she should work more on character differences? This is not to discredit her, it just feels so. What is your opinion?
    Ah, Aronofsky and the satanist tshirt i saw thanks to comments, now I see!..

      That is absolutely untrue. Some characters she plays have some similarities, but that is as far as it goes. Have you seen her movies? I don't think you have. In mother!, it is intentional that the wife is much younger, naive, and submissive, so it is easy for the husband to dominate her.
